When you conjure up thoughts of your ideal Saturday morning, which scenario most fits your image?
Option 1: It’s only 10:30 a.m. and you’ve already put in your five-mile run, stopped by the farmer’s market to buy a week’s worth of produce and called your mom to catch up. You’ll have time to run a few errands and grab that coveted mocha latte before meeting your girlfriends for lunch.
Option 2: It’s 10:30 a.m. and the sun is streaming into your bedroom. You’ve just slept for a peaceful, restful nine hours and plan to continue your laid-back morning in your p.j.s with a bowl of fruit and the current novel you’re reading. And you’re not answering the phone until noon.
Some of my favorite Saturdays have fit one extreme or the other. To me, the wonderful thing about Saturdays is that they can go either way. But if I have too many lazy ones, I feel as if I’m not taking full advantage of my weekends. If I have too many totally productive Saturdays, I feel as if I should kick back a bit.
What’s your take?

This morning is a nice little combo of both. I have been up since 7AM (thanks to the hubby having to get up early today), but… I’m all cozy under the covers in bed with the laptop watching Food Network. From here though I can see the clothes hamper… my lazy morning will be ending very soon. Which is a good thing… as much as I love to be lazy on the weekends… when I’m up and around getting things accomplished bright and early - I love it.
Hello,
I saw your post and wrote about it in my own sleep blog, if you are interested. -sp

My Saturday’s are full of running errands and visiting my mother in the nursing home, so I’m usually up by 8. However, my Sunday’s are meant for sleeping in a bit, then working on the Sunday crossword puzzle, then doing laundry. Our kids are teenagers now, but ever since they were little I’ve been unable to sleep late. Sleeping in for me is 9am, and that’s pretty rare.
