If you watched any TV news this morning, you probably saw the photo of Katie Couric, who starts her stint as "CBS Evening News" anchor Tuesday. An in-house network publication altered a photo of her in a business suit to make her look 20 pounds lighter — apparently without her permission.
So the buzz this morning is whether she, the first woman to sit in the "Evening News" anchor seat, is being held to a different standard as the men who have come before her. Do women face more scrutiny for their appearance in the workplace?
