There’s been a lot of hype lately about respecting the American flag. It seems that a lot of Americans are in favor of enacting stronger guidelines for appropriate treatment of the flag, as well as harsher punishments for those who don’t follow the guidelines.
I wonder if strict flag regulations would include limiting the use of the American flag for retail purposes. As you can see from today’s story in WichiTalk, there’s no shortage of patriotic merchandise in stores.
What’s your stance? Do you believe it’s inappropriate to print the American flag on nearly everything? Or do believe that anything that boosts patriotism is acceptable?
