Now, that’s scary!

One of our photographers asked for my help in collecting "props" for the picture that goes with our medicine cabinet story in Tuesday’s WichiTalk. He wanted a couple of those familiar orange prescription medicine bottles.

We had plenty. And I was forced into doing a little cleaning as part of my reporting.

I think the oldest was from 1998. I’d like it known that it did NOT have my name on it. I’ll be talking with my husband about whether he really thought he could still take that.

Can you top my old stuff? What’s the most out-of-date thing in your medicine cabinet? Tell us about it here.

Wedding tunes

At my wedding, my father and I swing danced to The Temptations’ "My Girl." I tried to make sure that the music we had at the reception reflected who I was, not a list of recommended wedding songs that didn’t suit my personality. So imagine my disappointment when I saw on a recent report that the song is the No. 4 most requested song for wedding father-daughter dances. Oh well. We had a blast swingin’ and spinnin’.

The song my husband and I danced to was Clint Black’s "Something That We Do." I’m not a huge country music fan, but I love the words to this song:

I remember well the day we wed
I can see that picture in my head
I still believe the words we said
Forever will ring true
Love is certain, love is kind
Love is yours and love is mine
But it isn’t something that we find
It’s something that we do

You can find the complete lyrics here.

Check out today’s WichiTalk for one list of the most popular songs for wedding first dances, father-daughter dances and mother-son dances.

What were/will be your songs? Tell us about your meaningful, hilarious or funky wedding songs.
