And two become one …

What do you think about the two big mergers announced yesterday?

The two smallest television networks — UPN and the WB — will merge this fall into a new network called the CW, a move with younger and minority viewers in mind. Of the shows on those networks, including "Everybody Hates Chris," "Veronica Mars" and "Smallville," I’ve really only watched "Girlmore Girls" with much interest, probably because the mother-daughter banter among three generations of women always made me laugh.

And then there’s the news that Disney is buying Pixar, an announcement that I personally found less surprising. It should be interesting to see what new creations they come up with. I love "Monsters, Inc."  It’s one of the few "kid show" movies my husband and I (who have no children) have in our DVD collection.

What do you think about these moves? Good? Bad? Or are you indifferent? Leave your comments here.
