For those caught up in "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" fever, check out this little diatribe from a newspaper covering another recent project in Ohio. It appears with the Eagle’s coverage when you Google the show’s name.
All I can say is, "Ouch." Choice quotes:
- "The disease-carrying mosquito in this case is TV’s Ty Pennington, the man women want to be with and men want to pummel."
- "To make things even worse for men, "Extreme Makeover" presents the female viewer with the pinnacle of all manhood."
He may have a point about overexposure, but it appears a lot of people don’t agree with him, whether they be in Ohio or in Kansas.
You have to admit, though, that the story of the Nutsch family is pretty amazing. House destroyed. Dad watching over the property in a school bus. Five young daughters.
I’d go on about the rest of what the Ohio columnist wrote, but you have to register for the site. I didn’t. Feel free to read more about Wichita-area hysteria for free on Kansas.com’s special section.
