statehouseFour Wichita-area state lawmakers don’t have opponents in the upcoming elections, assuming no independent candidates join their races. Those unopposed in the August primary and November general elections are Reps. Steve Huebert, R-Valley Center; Mario Goico, R-Wichita; Joe Seiwert, R-Pretty Prairie; and Ponka-We Victors, D-Wichita. Rep. Jim Ward, D-Wichita, has no Democratic or Republican challenger, but James Pruden is running against him as a Libertarian in the general election. Statewide, 11 Democrats and 23 Republicans are unopposed, or more than a fourth of the 125-member Kansas House.
