Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kan., denies that his call for Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to resign was motivated by the tea party challenge he is facing in next year’s GOP primary, the Kansas City Star reported. He also acknowledged that mistakes are part of government, but he argued that they shouldn’t be “made and continued by design.” Though Roberts has known Sebelius for decades and used to worked for her father-in-law, former Rep. Keith Sebelius, Roberts said his criticism of Sebelius “is not personal.” That’s unlikely to make her feel better.
