The Kansas Silver Haired Legislature, a senior-citizen group that advises the Legislature, endorsed a bill last week that would allow people to use marijuana if they have certain medical conditions and have recommendations from their physicians, the Lawrence Journal-World reported. The group’s primary concern is how marijuana can help seniors and others manage pain and other health symptoms. Some members of the group also think that marijuana could have a significant economic benefit for the state, particularly if it could be grown in place of more water-intensive crops in western Kansas.
