Woodward spat reflects a pattern of behavior by White House

Columnist Kathleen Parker contends that the White House’s recent spat with Washington Post associate editor Bob Woodward is “part of a pattern of behavior by the Obama administration that suggests not just thin skin but a disregard for the role of the press.” She added: “This is no tempest in a teapot, but rather is the leak in the dike. Drip by drip, the Obama administration has demonstrated its intolerance for dissent and its contempt for any who stray from the White House script.”

Roberts would beat other GOP conservatives

Though only 42 percent of Kansas Republicans said they would vote to renominate Pat Roberts for the U.S. Senate, and 34 percent said they would prefer someone “more conservative,” Roberts has a big lead in hypothetical primary matchups with other conservative Republicans, according to a Public Policy Polling survey. Roberts leads former Rep. Todd Tiahrt 47 to 26 percent; Rep. Tim Huelskamp, R-Fowler, 53 to 22 percent; and Secretary of State Kris Kobach 55 to 19 percent.
