Rep. Tim Huelskamp, R-Fowler, is using his failed coup attempt against House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, to try to raise money from the tea party. “Voting against a sitting speaker of the House was a great risk,” Huelskamp wrote in an e-mail. “They will punish me. They will attack my family.” But Huelskamp vowed that he “will not be intimidated,” and he asked conservatives to stand with him and contribute $35. Others warned that the fundraising e-mail will only further alienate Huelskamp from House Republicans. A GOP House aide told Roll Call: “You have to be a special kind of person to think that’s a good idea.”
