Only 35 percent of Kansans told SurveyUSA last month that they approved of President Obama’s job performance, down from 42 percent in May. And that was before the June 29 press conference in which he stepped up his criticism of customers of one of Kansas’ biggest industries, corporate jets. In the June poll, sponsored by KWCH, Channel 12, approval for Gov. Sam Brownback was at 47 percent, compared with 55 percent when he took office in January. Only 23 percent of those polled last month approved of the Legislature’s job performance.
