Bachmann’s record is in fights, not solutions

GOP presidential hopeful Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., is surging in Iowa, which explains why fellow GOP candidate, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, is now focusing on her. He is noting how Bachmann’s record of results and accomplishments in Congress is “nonexistent.” Bachmann responded by pointing out her efforts to defeat the cap-and-trade bill and other measures. “As her statement makes clear,” Politico reported, “part of Bachmann’s self-sell are fights she waged against doing certain things, instead of making them happen.” Meanwhile, columnist Alexandra Petri said that the media and Bachmann’s political opponents are making a mistake by trying to portray her as dumb. “Bachmann has many traits,” Petri wrote, “but ‘dumb’ is not among them.”
