A tea party group contends that the tax deal Republican leaders made with President Obama violates five provisions of the GOP’s “Pledge to America.” The broken campaign pledges include vows to “act immediately to reduce spending,” to “advance legislative issues one at a time” and to “permanently stop all job-killing tax hikes.” According to Tea Party Patriots, the tax deal makes the GOP’s pledge “a joke and instantly impacts the credibility of all future efforts to propose agendas to the electorate.”
