The Kansans in the U.S. House may feel pressure next year about being mostly newbies in a new GOP majority, but at least they won’t be working a grueling schedule. The 2011 calendar set by incoming House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., will require just 123 workdays over 32 weeks, at a pay rate of $1,414 a day or $5,437 a week worked. “The goal for this Congress is to stress quality over quantity,” Cantor said in a memo to members.
