Palin in 2012?

PR NEWSWIRETwo takes on the prospects of a Sarah Palin presidential nomination in 2012, offered Sunday by participants on ABC’s “This Week” roundtable:
– “She’s a joke. I just can’t take her seriously. We’ve got serious problems in the country. . . . The idea that this potential talk show host is considered seriously for the Republican nomination. Believe me — it’ll never happen,” said New York Times conservative columnist David Brooks.
– “You cannot underestimate the degree to which women will be drawn to her story, and that’s who she’s speaking to. These are people who are ignored, who nobody counts into their thinking,” said Gwen Ifill, moderator of PBS’ “Washington Week.”
Meanwhile, only 28 percent of Americans surveyed think that Palin is qualified to be president, according to a new CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll.  And Newsweek is taking heat over its cover photo of Palin posing in running gear.

    From Think Progress –

” This afternoon, Fox News host Gregg Jarrett proudly announced that Sarah Palin is “continuing to draw huge crowds while she’s promoting her brand new book. Take a look at — these are some of the pictures just coming into us.” But the pictures that the network chose to display on-air appeared to be old file footage of Palin rallies from the 2008 presidential campaign. Individuals in the crowd are seen holding McCain/Palin signs, and others are holding pom-poms and cheering wildly. “There’s a crowd of folks,” an enthused Jarrett observed, referring to the old footage.”

Can everyone take off their red and blue jerseys for a minute and sit back and look at this without political party affiliation affecting their judgement?

First, dry, and old, McCain needed someone young, fresh, to energize his stale campaign.

So McCain found a young, pretty, female to exploit. It wasn’t her vast experience (although she had more than Obama) – it was being a pretty female.

Second, democrats [and others]are attacking a female for her looks (all the attention on the Newsweek cover is a perfect example). There are many discussion items or talking points that democrats have used based solely upon Palin being a female to exploit her.

I don’t know if it is possible for people to stop the physcial attacks (like those on Obama by a very few on his race). But it sure would be nice to here people posting and the media forgetting her being a mother, pretty, and femaile – and talk the issues.

Presently, Palin is everybodies hore. [sp]

No Democrat complains about the Moose Dresser’s beauty.

In fact, it was Caribou Barbie herself who objected to the Newsweek cover; which she’d posed for a Runners’ World magazine hot-body spread.

You’re trying to push a straw man, “American_Way.”

Bible Spice gets in trouble when she opens her mouth.

“Don’t hate be ’cause I’m beautiful” may have sold mascara in that old ad campaign, but it’s not a qualification for the presidency.

Since all of the men have weighed in on this one I’ll give it a female perspective. MH is so over the top with his critic that he loses any credibility. There are many conservative men that I talk to that actually think she would be a much better prez that what we currently have. I have said before that I don’t think she has the experience to be prez but we do have a man there now with far fewer qualifications. She objected to the Newsweek cover because it was an old picture taken for a physical fitness magazine. Newsweek is many things but has nothing to do with physical fitness.

Right now the crowds love her. They are buying her book by the thousands. She has people camping out overnight just to see her.

In conclusion let the dems just keep keeping her name out there. Name recognition is 90% of the battle when you talk to marketing people. Companies pay millions to keep their name on peoples tongues.

Dems will move her right into the White House at this rate.

Oh wait the libural women don’t like her. She looks like this and is a ‘mother’ of five. She votes her convictions. Her daughter had a baby out of wedlock and did’nt have an abortion. She is evil. Out of touch. She hangs out with other radicals. Oh that last one was a throwback to Obama. Well everything else makes her qualified.

Feminists are enraged that her can-do, have a Down’s Syndrome child in her 40s, shoot-moose persona will be used as a paradigm of a liberated women. She is quite attractive, fertile, and married to a Jack-Armstrong 19th-century man.

Her success as an independent female, who was an up-from-the-bootstraps small-town council member, mayor, state regulator and governor, is antithetical to doctrinaire feminism. The latter devolved into a political and grievance-based creed. It is often whiny, and increasingly dominated by single, childless shrill elites. Many try to equate their own unhappiness in matters of family and sex into some sort of cosmic complaint against male patriarchy—as a way of leveraging influence, access, money, and power or simply justifying now regrettable life choices made in their 20’s and 30’s.
    snip
Liberal elites are, well, deemed elites because they predicate their stature on things such as where they went to school, where they live, how much money they have access to, where their children attend university, and whom they know—all done in a sort of understated, coded fashion. The best snobbery is the least stated.
    snip
Palin faces many of the same problems that sunk Reagan in 1976: the moderate Republicans think she is a shallow, superficial head-nodder, the way they wrote Reagan off in his quest to dethrone Ford. She earns as much resistance from Republican Old Guarders as she does the Obamians. In the elite center-right way of thinking, she knows little of foreign affairs and is not wonkish about domestic issues.
    snip
Such is not an argument for anti-intellectualism or a dismissal of in-depth scholarship and research, but rather a reminder that Palin has led a full life than can be enhanced by more formal investigation. A chatty, rarified Obama misses dearly a concrete past, where he had to succeed or fail on his own merits, in a competitive unkind environment, where the muscular world often conspires against the intellectual.

And boy, it sure shows as we are learning in just 10 months of his uninspired governance.

Why do you like Am_Way then?

It is kind of a far fetched story, your water breaks and instead of going to the hospital, or waiting for closer labor pains, you hop on to a jet and travel to Alaska.
Maybe she wanted to ensure trig would have automatic citizenship for the country of Alaska after the secession.

Oprah begged Palin to come on so she could snuggle up to her girl-to-girl. Her ratings took a nose dive like the left media newspapers, magazines, and news channels.

They had a real love festival together kissing and making up.

As someone who edits photos daily, I can tell you that the photo of Palin in the header has been photoshopped (and not particularly well) within an inch of it’s life to remove wrinkles, inches and rolls horizontally and add a few inches vertically. The color saturation was also increased to the point of pain. That’s nowhere near the Palin you would see if you were standing where the photographer was. Newsweek should have sent the original over to Playboy- they do a much more convincing job of photo editing!

All that from a picture that was lifted from one magazine to another then lifted to a thread header on a blog…..Yeah, I wonder why it looks a bit distorted…

I’m not absolutely sure, but I believe that Playmates start out as real people and are then plastic coated and retinted and stretched and plumped and slimmed and have all their curves sanded and polished.

FreeB writes that you have all the earmarks of a snobbish elitist who thinks he is better than the average bear because he has lots of money, lives in a big house, hobnobs with the political elitists, and can boat of his worldly travels.

    Seriously?

    1. I don’t now nor have I ever thought that I was better than anybody.

    2. I don’t have lots of money.

    3. My house is somewhat bigger than average, but I only bought it because it was a fixer-up-er.

    4. I’ve met the governor twice, I heard Obama speak twice, and I worked on several local political campaigns.

I wouldn’t chacterize that as “hobnobbing” with politicians.

    5. I don’t boast unless I’m having to defend myself against CONs like SolDev who claim that Libs don’t know and don’t have the resources to live a good life like they do.

If you want to think the worst of me, there’s not much I can do about it.

However, I can say that I think you’re wrong.

I was surprised by it, yes, but I was forced to reach that conclusion.

Stormfront is the proto-hate site of all hate sites.

Nobody who’s not a racist would even go there. Nobody who’s not a Nazi would cite it as a source.

It’s like citing something from DemocraticUnderground and then saying, “but I’m not a liberal.”

You would be correct Anti, on both accounts. This seems to be the latest personal attack by the angel CapnAmerica (who posts about how terrible us cons are over on the lovely liberal lovefest blog).

Besides revealing CapnAmerica for the lowlife that he really is, and far from that great liberal white knight on a high carousel horse.

CapnAmerica posts about how terrible us cons are over on the lovely liberal lovefest blog.

Really? That’s news to me. What do I say?

You notice that Am_Way makes no effort to explain why he uses Stormfront as a source or why he’s reading material from that website.

Here’s how Stormfront bills itself: Discussion board for pro-White activists and anyone else interested in White survival.

Here’s how Wikipedia describe it: Stormfront is a white nationalist and supremacist[1] neo-Nazi[2] Internet forum that has been described as the Internet’s first major hate site.[3]

Stormfront began as an online bulletin board system in the early 1990s before being established as a website in 1995 by former Ku Klux Klan leader and white nationalist activist Don Black. It received national attention in the United States after being featured as the subject of a documentary, Hate.com.

The burden of proof is now on Am_Way to convince the rest of us that he’s not a racist (or worse).

    Good luck.

“Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin smacked the “lamestream media” on Wednesday for allegedly distorting what she writes in her book.

Speaking on Sean Hannity’s radio show, Palin said that “some on the left, that lamestream media, they’re contradicting what I wrote in the book.”

Hannity jumped in to ask, “did you say lamestream media?”

“Yeah, lamestream,” Palin responded. “They are contradicting those facts that I laid out regarding what Reagan had to say.”

You don;t anything to prove to BLueJay. He has no reputation to uphold. He has twice now accused me of being another one of Regulars nics. I called him on it. I have offered a bet of $1000 that I am not. I have also dropped the stake, in order to call BlueJay out. First I dropped it to $500. then $100, then a public apology and 6 months off the weblog. No answer.
My advice…(not that you need it) ignore him and drive on.

By the way, didn;t you say that donndublin was Regular? Seems like I remember that, but I could be wrong.
