The PP&P blog is just a group of similarly minded individuals that gather to express what is on their minds or what is interesting (or not)going on in their lives.
What it is not is a liberal counter to WEBlog. Some of the threads are political, many are not.

They stated if the locks and barriers had been built on Lake Pontchartrain to prevent the tidal surge from coming in, then New Orleans would have not been flooded. The lawsuits by the local environmentalists, including Sierra Club who joined in, prevented such barriers because it stopped the fiscal year funding of the project.
Now, that should be the last time you should ever bring this subject up again and if you think you are more qualified than a PhD in Civil Engineering specializing in flood control, then just say you are.
You have zero reasons now to keep brining this ‘dead horse’ subject again.
But, everyone know that you will and you’ll keep doing it. You just can’t help yourself when scientists lay waste to your layman’s claim of understanding of the situtation.

The environmental groups, using provisions in the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) to their advantage, managed to halt the progress of the corps for forty years (40). One can only wonder if the corps projects would have saved New Orleans or lessened the effects of this tragedy. Hopefully, state officials and activist judges will learn from their deadly mistakes and begin to make choices to protect American citizens before protecting the preferences of the environmental lobby.

Poor Regular (aka Republican, aka Republikhan) is just not competent enough to understand the New Orleans levee failure (design and construction flaws) issue
He even seems to believe that Mississippi River levees, 100 + miles to the north of New Orleans, caused the failures in New Orleans.
