Obama wasted a tool of persuasion

obama3If President Obama were President Johnson, he would have used his signature on the spending bill that included $32 million for the proposed National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility in Manhattan as leverage over Kansas Sens. Sam Brownback and Pat Roberts. Kansas City Star columnist Steve Kraske noted that “Johnson, the master pol, would have demanded something: a tough vote, more cooperation or fewer criticisms in exchange for his help on something as major as NBAF.” Instead, Obama recently signed the Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill.

There is no line item veto.

Besides, this amendment has been discussed for the past eight years as part of the Homeland Security package to bio-defenses and sustainibility against threats.

The legislation was backed by O’BAMA’s advisors.

    Sorry – no joy…

Yeah I am seeing more everyday wishing President Obama was more like President Bush.
An Imperial President, you will do as I say and not stop me from doing what ever I want to do.

That he is too bi-partisan and wanting to work with Republicans then just wanting to get the job done.
But that is not working out too good either huh?

    Anyone who votes for Democrats
    or Republicans deserves whatever
    poor results they produce. There

    Sure Rhonda,

Obama should play more political games with Taxpayer Dollars.

We’re not having ENOUGH fun yet.

Perhaps Obama is not a master politician like President Johnson; but I thought that was what everybody wanted – someone who puts the good of the country before politics.

Oh, now I get it. Republicans say they want bipartisanship but when it is their side in total control, then bipartisanship goes out the window.

    Yeah, right.

Besides, no Republican from Kansas will ever say anything good about Obama because then they would have to answer to their real GOP leader -Rush. Rush is the Pied Piper who is leading the entire party to their doomsday of tearing right into two groups. Way to go.

What will that 20% of people even claiming to be Republicans and dropping win you at election time?

So Rhonda’s position is that politicians should ask themselves “What would Lyndon Johnson do?” as they make decisions? That really sounds like a winner for the country and the administration.
