Two more Sarah Palin books are coming out. “The Persecution of Sarah Palin” blames the media elite for Palin’s problems. “Sarah From Alaska” is sympathetic to the challenge Palin faced but argues that her lack of preparation contributed to her poor interview and debate performances. But neither book fully explains why Palin causes such derangement in many of her supporters and critics, a Washington Post book review argued.

Palin doesn’t cause ‘derangement’! It’s a natural part of being a liberal. Palin’s book just brings it to the forefront!
She’s insane and produce a field. Some people call it charisma. If you are sensitive at all, you’ll find it difficult to think around crazy people. It’s like static.
“minutelady” posits –
“Palin doesn’t cause ‘derangement’!”
She’s just a carrier?
I so much want the Moose Dresser to be the future of the Repubic Party.
It’s like drawing maps for lemmings to the sea.
She’s polarizing and she sells.
Reminds me of some politicians currently holding office.
She’s got some ‘xplaining to do if she is going to seek higher office, which there are zero indications she will.
Palin is a good example of a real problem with politics.
It’s not about leadership or ideals, it’s about marketing. Both Obama and Biden made (and continue to make) just as many ‘gaffs’ as Palin. Especially Biden. The only difference is they have a better handle on marketing and image control.
The difference is that Biden and Obama aren’t idiots, PM.
The difference is that Biden and Obama aren’t idiots, PM.
Oh, Biden’s demonstrated he’s an idiot repeatedly. The jury’s still out on Obama, though I don’t think idiot is the right evaluation. Obama’s just unprepared for the job he finds himself in, a rookie operating “above his pay grade.”
As to the “derangement” caused by Palin among some on the left, that’s more properly identified as fear. They fear what she has the potential to become – a charismatic, appealing threat to their man, who frankly won the presidency on the basis of his charisma (and little else). I’ve no idea if she will become that; she was thrown to the wolves long before she was ready,
But then so was Obama; the “wolves” simply formed an adoration society in his case.
If Bush was “prepared” and Obama is “unprepared,” I’ll take unprepared any day of the week.
May the Good Lord give us more “unprepared” Presidents . . .
Biden cares about people. Palin cares about only herself.
P.S. That pic makes me physically ill. You’re a little old for that grandma.
I think more than a few of us are sick of both the elites in both the Democratic and Republican parties. They appear to think they know what is best for the “peons”.
That is probably the segment of society that appealed to Sarah Palin. She is from an ordinary background and works hard. She was treated with the same disrespect the elite treats the rest of society they consider beneath them.
OWEbama is ‘prepared’. He’s prepared to take this nation into ruin. He is working very hard at it. If you blame the state of the economy on the past administration you are correct. It is the fault of the Democrat controlled Congress and House.
Definitions:
derange
1. to throw into disorder; disarrange.
2. to disturb the condition, action, or function of.
3. to make insane.
derangement
1. the act of deranging.
2. insanity.
3. disarrangement; disorder.
The article states that “Palin causes such derangement in many of her supporters and critics”. Her supporters become disturbed as they see one of their own. Someone who is plain spoken, uses a lot of vernacular (“you bet ya” ), is a little free associative in thinking and speaking. They think she is approachable and down to earth.
Her critics are disordered by the thought that someone so cynical, manipulative, and ignorant could become a person of importance in our political system. It makes them crazy that anyone would find her creditable or competent. A female “Joe the Plumber” on steroids.
“They appear to think they know what is best for the “peons”.
I speak con.
“They give a damn about their fellow man and believe they should do something to help them.”
Proof positive that libs and dems are the utter height of stupidity. I give you Blue Jay and his/her fellow travelers. They actually believe that Democrats care for people. Most of us stopped believing in fairy tales long ago.
“Most of us stopped believing in fairy tales long ago.”
Yeah that’s kinda how a lot of us feel about the “free” market or “the American dream”. If cons don’t believe in Government, why don’t they stay out of it?
Heh, new term from the article – “the after-birthers.”
So now we know how to classify some of the Libs on this blog, especially BlueJay who seems to be obsessed with Palin – as after-birthers.
“Chrisfrommactown” alleges –
“Proof positive that libs and dems are the utter height of stupidity.”
Stick to flirting with 20-year-old clerks (female? you never specified) at liquor stores.
“The Atlantic’s Andrew Sullivan, a self-identified conservative who calls his Daily Dish “the most popular one-man political blog site in the world,” persistently claimed that Trig Palin, the governor’s then-4-month-old baby with Down syndrome, was not Sarah’s biological child and requested the full release of her obstetrical records, stopping just short of demanding he be sent the placenta for genetic testing.”
a self-identified conservative is your “after birther” there gimp.
Come and protest Sarah Palin
5:30PM Friday, February 5th
Location:Bi-Centennial Center in Salina, KS
till 8:30PM. Palin is speaking for the Salina Chamber of Commerce.
Palin is everything a woman shouldn’t be. I mean she can’t even answer softball questions in an interview and she goes out and writes a book? On what? How to shoot game from a helicopter?

Evidently PMama is not a believer in freedom of speech, but in shout-downs.
Of course I believe in freedom of speech, which is why I encourage the use of it through protest!

Protest is fine
Disruption is not
“why Palin causes such derangement in many of her supporters and critics,
For the same reasons, she’s an empty headed bimbo (former?)politician. Cons love it, dems jeer at it.
Pmom you might start by asking yourself why you fear Sarah Palin so much. You and BJ are examples of the far left that are in danger of falling off altogether.
I love it when you tell us we are all wrong and you are the only one who is right. I am not a Palin for prez supporter. One person put there to learn on the job in my lifetime is enough for me. Palin however is much more prepared than the occupant of the White House today.
Maybe we will see you on the 10 o’clock news as they drag you handcuffed and kicking and screaming to the paddy wagon for disrupting a legal meeting with your childish actics.
We’ve been through that ‘one of us’ routine with bush, and he damned near destroyed the entire capitalistic system.
Cons say bring on round 2.
“Maybe we will see you on the 10 o’clock news as they drag you handcuffed and kicking and screaming to the paddy wagon…”
Uh yeah, that’s unlikely. Sarah Palin does not have the resources that george bush had to protect him from the people’s opinion. She is no longer an elected official and so any goon squad will have to be paid for.
“asking yourself why you fear Sarah Palin so much”
Yes, we liberals fear Sarah Palin – so much so that we TREMBLE at the thought of her showing up at back door with her camo and 50 caliber.
We FEAR that she won’t get the nomination from the GOP in 2012.
We FEAR that she won’t mount a campaign for president.
We FEAR that she is all talk (badly) and no action.
Yep, we liberals are TERRIFIED that Sarah (?) Palin will NOT be the GOP candidate in 2012.
Yep, shaking in our boots……………

So, PMOM is now an authority on what a woman should be. Now that’s a scary thought.
If she were, the earthquake felt would be real men everywhere shuddering in unison as they imagine the woman in their life replaced by a strident feminist.
Once again Phil Brownnoser finds the most awful photo of a republican to post to his thread.
I’ve heard some of you say Phil isn’t a lib. Well, there is no such thing as a republican or conservative in the newspaper – if this is a “fair and balanced” report.
The entire press corps is deranged. There’s your cause!
American_Way,
That’s a great photo of Sarah Palin. It reminds everyone of what it is that makes her so mavericky and adorable.
Be careful of the lunatic fringe that would pay 75$ just to see her, god knows they’re not going to hear her speak!
Thanks to a good friend in Salina, I purchased a table of eight tickets to attend this event in Salina.
PeeMom – I’ll look for you outside. :) Dress warmly.

Good for you – you should be thankful you have enough money to purchase those tickets. Maybe you’ll be in the first row and Sarah will wink at you??

This picture has been used countless times – and besides, the camera never lies.
If you want to talk about fair and balanced reporting – if Fox News is considered fair and balanced, then this newspaper should have no problem passing as fair and balanced…

Ahh, the libs talk big on here, but I doubt any of them will be out protesting in February.
Besides – What’s to protest?

Grannie – you sound like some bully in the play yard who is proudly boasting that everyone fears him. What is with you?
You might want to ask yourself why so many people – in both parties – don’t like or trust Sarah Palin? Obviously there were Republicans that felt Palin was out of her league and was in no way prepared or qualfied to be president. If you might remember, McCain and Palin lost BIG time…
Why don’t you ask that question rather than smugly thinking Palin is such a threat that everyone ‘fears’ her.
BTW – I guess Sarah does not have as much as power as you all think she has because her personally-picked golden haired boy Hoffman lost up in NY 23.
If I were you and I was hitching my wagon to Sarah, you might just want to pull back on those reins and think things through. Or shall we get someone to assist you in that?

Thankful? Yes, we agree. I thank God every day for giving me the fortitude necessary to go out and earn it.
$75 to see Palin….where ? on South Broadway!?!
Only $50 if you buy a table of 8.
A bargain. I’ll take all three of my children. Even my youngest, 10 yrs old, is looking forward to going – along with dinner at Martinelli’s. Like all smart kids, they appreciate and value conservative principles.
