Chris Cillizza of the Washington Post ranked Sarah Palin as the most influential Republican, noting the upcoming release of her memoir, “Going Rogue: An American Life,” and her ability to draw big and energetic crowds. Meanwhile, the editors of the Nation are publishing “Going Rouge: Sarah Palin, An American Nightmare” on the same day that Palin’s book comes out.

Heh HEH! Gonna be a lot of cons that will buy the wrong book and wonder why Sarah’s ghost writer is so hard on her!
Prediction:
Going Rogue: An American Life = Big Hit
Sarah Palin, An American Nightmare = Dud
Rouge, it goes withe the pigs lipstick!
The titles are going to confuse the hell out of the cons.! Maybe the ‘Nightmare’ will help them distinguish between the two.
Buy now and we’ll throw in the mother /daughter pregnancy test. Available only with this offer or at Wasilla bait and tackle.
Since their decision will be based on the photo, I think they’ll still buy the wrong one.
Sarah Palin scares the crap out of LIBs.
Cons don’t look at little writing or big words. They will see her picture and her name and buy the first book they see! FUN! Coming soon to your local book display where “An American Life” will get hidden under the diet books.
Going Rouge: Sarah Palin, An American Nightmare
=================================
How pathetic the LIBs are.
They are sooo scared of Sarah that they have to create a book, copying the style of the real book, and release it on the same day in order to minimize Palin.
Too bad there are millions of pre-ordered Palin books.
The Nation’s book is already a failure. Maybe it will get subsides from the .gov like Air America to keep it huffing along in the rear.
Keep showing your fear, LIBs.
I tried to order “American Rouge” from Amazon.
They kept trying to redirect me to “American Rogue.”
It’s a conspiracy, I tells ya!
;-)
All the Moose-Dresser’s bulk pre-orders which inflated the NY Times Best-Seller List will be remaindered by Thanksgiving and be recycled into toilet paper.
How appropriate.

Sarah Palin scares the crap out of LIBs.
===========================================
If that wasn’t true, there would be zero posts on this topic.
Who cares about another conservative book? I don’t.
The Libs sure are going ape siht though.
The Libs sure are going ape siht though.
====================
Yep.
News Media can’t leave this lady alone. She beats them up.
Hurry libs..someone tell us again how irrelevant she is.
The Libs have to use deceit to sell a book because the truth don’t sell.
The ordering system for “Going Rouge” is temporarily down! No doubt due to heavy traffic.
This is an idea the left could run with. Get the cons to buy books they THINK they want to read. Then get them reading what they SHOULD be reading.
Pantschiiting is part of the DimLib fight/flight response. Palin triggers this response from the Left like no one has in recent memory. Why? Why so skeered of a pretty little girl from Alaska?
Psychoanalysis anyone?
Sarah Palin is a media sensation and she made herself that. And with that goal in mind, she has made millions for herself. Good for her.
Hey, that’s the American way. And the fact another book has come out in direct competition to Palin’s is also the American way.
It’s called captitalism. And last time I checked, Republicans absolutely LOVE capitalism – or is that only reserved for Republicans?
I don’t think Sarah Palin is irrelevant. She is very relevant to the Republican Party. Seems to me she is helping to bring about the downfall of the GOP by making the party fracture into two groups.
But, hey, if that floats your boat – then so be it.

–
Now who’s running scared?
As for using deceit because the truth won’t sell – that could pass for Fox News, as well.
Au contraire –
I’m enthusiastic about the Moose Dresser rising star in the Repubic Party!
I’m positively giddy at her prospects to challenge President Obama in 2012.
It’s not my “panties in a wad” over Bible Spice ruining the Repubic Party’s chances of retaining the New York 23rd congressional district seat (which has been in GOP hands since 1878. It’s Newtie Gingrich, of all people, who (assuming he’s wearing his pants — not all that good a bet if there’s a young female staffer in his office) is predicting disaster for his party by Palin=tologists.
Run, Sarah, run!
Run like a wolf getting shot at from a helicopter!
Bring Todd and Trig and Trap and Tencil (whatever those kids’ names are) for a second 15 minutes of fame and disgrace.
Trig Palin (yes the toddler with down syndrome) could beat any Democrat challenger come 2012.
The Nation should hire Tina Fey to promote their book, cons wouldn’t have a clue!
Kia,
Yeah, Trig’s story of being abandoned by mom and raised by siblings should pull a few heartstrings.
Did Trig go to Hong Kong, or was he home alone?
To demonstrate her intelligence, Palin can now truthfully say “I passed Trig with flying colors!”
With Sarah Palin so prominent on the jacket, going rouge is destined to beat out the other book.
Phant,
Memoirs should only be written by people who have done something worth remembering and relating.
They’ve both got her picture on the cover so con can’t tell them apart, and you know it’s just for bookshelf decoration anyway, that no con intends to actually read the thing, so what difference does it make which one they buy other than who gets the royalties?
Ahhhhh…
….another topic for duh Libs to do what they do best, flap their lips about insignificant issues and other people.
…bunch of gossipy old women
The Nation might have hit on it’s hands because this comedy book about this dumb bimbo is gonna be much bigger than hers. It’s “National Lampoons: Sarah Palins Big Vacation Adventure” Where she goes hunting for Wally the Moose at the Wally World Theme park with Chevy Chase playing Todd…

Actually, you’ll start to see ads hawking the book for a “special low price of only $4.99!!!” on websites like NewsMax and WorldNetDaily.
Same difference, though.
For the life of me, I can’t figure out what is rogue about this woman. She seems pretty ordinary, except maybe for the rouge and other makeup. Otherwise, she’s not a very well-informed mother who got into politics and still remained uninformed. Of course, I guess Republicans like their leaders to be uninformed.
If those who critize Obama are racist, doesn’t that make everyone who critize Palin a sexist?
The Nation editors had to plagiarize Palin’s book and match the release date to sell their book.
We always knew libs can’t make on their own accord.
Sarah Palin touched me in my naughty place.
I don’t think I will report it though.
How did the Nation’s editors plagiarize Palin’s book?
As far as that goes, any conservative writer could have written a book titled “The Audacity of Rope” and time the release to coincide with the release of the
AyersObama book.I heard the editors of American Thinker are coming out with two new Obama books.
“Schemes of My Father – Who’s my daddy?” and “Capaity of Dope – How much pot can I smoke?”
Anybody got another one?
Star-struck, shock and awe-struck, dumb phuq.
Ameriqunts!
Daniel, you must have read my mind.
““The Audacity of Rope””???
Is that the first thing you think of when it comes to lampooning a black man? rope?
wow.
They are also offering a cartoon version of her book for the MANY Palin supporters that can’t read. There is also an audio offering to explain the cartoon.

Sarah’s just so extraordinarily ordinary that the cons can’t get enough of her. Didn’t you notice when she spoke a the convention, every eye was on her cleavage? As for her make-up, she should have taken lessons in restraint from Tammy Faye.
Sarah Palin should have entitled her book, “Why LIBs hate women with power: The hypocrisy of Feminism and the American Left.”

Not bad, but I reckon the publishers would have vetoed that title…too many multisyllabic words on the cover would scare off the intended audience.
/I’m not actually an azz, I just play one on teh internets.
Does anyone else think what The Nation is doing is somewhat deceptive?
They must think that it is necessary to piggyback on the potential success of Sarah Palin’s book and that conservatives are too stupid to purchase the correct book. In that case they are STILL admitting that the only way they can sell the book is on the basis of Palin’s popularity.
If the book is for those they think need to hear about what a bad person Palin is, they are admitting that it is necessary to go to battle against her. If she is such a poor choice as a candidate, why go to all the trouble?
Honestly, why all the uproar? The more fuss put forward about Palin, the more the right embraces her. Is that the goal? Get the right to embrace a candidate the left sees as a looser?
Does anyone else notice how much the left is secure in continually insulting the right? Do they think insults are the way to win them over?
Deb,
“Does anyone else think what The Nation is doing is somewhat deceptive?”
No, it’s satire. The real problem here is the difficulty in satirizing someone who has already made a parody of herself.

Yes, I do believe that this is the goal. The most dangerous opponent the GOP can put up against President Obama, IMO, is Mitt Romney.
President Obama beats Sarah Palin in a cakewalk.

Satire is fine Jed. I think the similarity of title and cover is deceptive.
As long as we are at the level of humor I’ll mention that I find it ironic that the left goes all out in opposition to a woman in politics. I also find it ironic that Sarah Palin exercised her choice in childbirth and gave birth to a baby with Down’s Syndrome.

Who condemned her for carrying Trip to term? I must’ve missed that. She made her choice, there’s nothing wrong with that as it was her choice to make.
Who condemned her for carrying Trip to term?
=========================================
BlueJay, for one.
I have no problem with the Moose Dresser choosing to go full term with a Down Syndrome pregnancy.
I have a problem when she says she admits she sat in a hotel room in Idaho and contemplated her choice.
She would deny that choice to everyone else.
She would force any woman do didn’t make her choice.
So she wants to take away that choice.
As a forty-something pregnant woman, and in light of her subsequent life and career, one has a legitimate question: “Was it a moral choice or a political one?” (I bet she doesn’t cover it in her book.)
She talked about that evening in the Idaho hotel room — “With an abortion clinic just three blocks away” — what? Did she Mapquest the location?!
Anyway, she made her choice.
And, since she must obviously be far superior than others, she wants to take that choice from anyone else.
But please, CONs. Don’t throw us into Br’er Sarah’s brier patch!
Deb,
My criticism re: Trig is conceiving a child in her mid-40’s. She should have looked at the odds and made him wear a condom or said she had a headache! I never even suggested she have an abortion. I would have supported her if she had, and I would have supported her decision to have a Down’s baby if she hadn’t palmed him off on her children to raise. Caring for a disabled child is hard work; she should have known that and either committed to it or not had him to begin with. Trig’s the victim here, along with her other kids who were given responsibilities beyond their means to cope. Sarah’s just selfish.
Was it a moral choice or a political one?” (I bet she doesn’t cover it in her book.)
—————————————-
I’m guessin if she didn’t it’s because it’s nobody’s damn business but hers.
Going Rogue = coffee table anchor

Nope. I just said that I won’t pat her on the back for making a decision that she would make a mandate on other women. In the world according to Palin, the lifetime commitment in raising a Downs afflicted child is no heroic choice. It is what she HAD to do. It is what she would FORCE other women people to do. That takes any heroics out of it.

I bet talk radio will LOUDLY tell their listeners the right book to buy. This will be basically admitting that they know their listeners are stupid without saying so.
It is funny how the libs have reacted to Sarah Palin.
I just don’t understand where N.O.W. is; and why they have been okay with the libs attacking Palin. Palin is a forthright, strong woman, with her own set of standards and beliefs who has made her own way in the world. As a woman, what is there NOT to be proud of???
You can blame alllll of this on the libs, they continued to be scared of Palin. Sarah Palin’s name should have been mentioned twice, by the libs, between December 1, 2008 to December 1, 2009 and that would have been a line or two in the NYT and a small blurb on MSNBC.
1. Sarah Palin resigns as Alaska governor.
2. Sarah Palin has written a book and it has been released.
That is all, anything more and it just PROVES how upsetting she is to the libs and rightfully so.
Well BlueJay,
You douchebaggers are free to buy your own books, if they stay in print that is.

Seriously, I’m asking all of you libs who are parents, forget the whole political party and all that.
IF your daughter accomplished everything that Sarah Palin has, would you OR would you not be proud of all that she has accomplished?
Would you or would you not hold up Sarah Palin as a role model for your daughter as to what a woman can do or accomplish in this country?

Libs hate it when they get beat at their own game.
Jed, Go back and take it again. While you’re at it try flash cards. You might learn something.
I mean you people can’t even limit yourselves to Palin’s political opinions. 95% of what I’m seeing in this thread against her is personal and not based upon her political beliefs.
How sad is that???

Okay Blue, so if your daughter became a successful woman, married to the same man for however many years, gave you 4 beautiful grandchildren, became Mayor of a city, Governor of a state and a VP candidate of the United States, THAT would NOT be good enough for you.
Be sure to share that with your daughter tonight.
“Why LIBs hate women with power: The hypocrisy of Feminism and the American Left.”
Gene,
When a person parades her family onstage as an example for all to follow, she has made her personal life a public concern. If there’s dysfunction in her family life it will most likely show up in her public policies.
Be sure to share that with your daughter tonight.
BlueJay only has a son – but with Junior, one can never know if there may be some gender confusion.
If there’s dysfunction in her family life it will most likely show up in her public policies.
===========================================
Jed,
So, what did you think of Clinton?
Surely you are not a hypocrite?
I think he and Monica were both considerably tacky. And that episode caused a lot of grief and expense. But I do resent the way you cons have loaded it all onto Hillary now.
Cue “Laura Bush killed her teenage boyfriend”….
Let me get this straight.
President Bush had a majority republican congress and an alledged conservative supreme court for 6 years and did nothing against abortion and yet you think because a woman, in a marriage, conceives a child and decides to have that child and becomes a VP candidate, that somehow THAT will overturn abortion???
Oh brother!!
But I do resent the way you cons have loaded it all onto Hillary now.
=========================
I dunno Jed, you people think a woman who sticks with an abusive, adulterous husband, and rides the coat tails of his political power is the poster girl for Feminism….
Kinda fuqed up if you ask me.
Exactly Mr. Kia, and how many times did Teddy bring his family out on the stage and lo and behold, we STILLLL have laws on the books against drunk driving and manslaughter.
Hillary was so dislikable she couldn’t secure a nomination handed to her on a silver platter.
Not my problem.
Is that true bluejay? Would you hold Hillary up as a role model for your daughter???
Wow! Look at all the posts!
Libs are excited by Sarah. Gosh I hope she runs just to keep them all worked up. Frenzy.
It’s like feeding the guppies.
Or would you hold up Michelle, my belle for “magically” getting a 200,000 dollar raise, within days of her husband becoming a senator???
Things that make you go HMMMMMM.
Libs are excited by Sarah. Gosh I hope she runs just to keep them all worked up. Frenzy.
It’s like feeding the guppies.
——————
heh – an observation i wouldn’t have thought of, but nevertheless accurate. :)
So what you are saying Jed is that the media and the country should have paid a little more attention to BO’s and Michelles attendance at the church of their choice (SEE REV. WRIGHT), as to how THAT might affect BO’s public policies??
Is that about right??
over 100 comments…and mostly personal attacks. why are people so terrified of this woman that they must attack her here on a small town blog? Do they really think their words will make her go away?
I never really much had an opinion of her one way or the other, but if the libs so adamantly hate her, there must be something positive.
I LOVE it that Jed thinks Sarah Palin is selfish. I am not surprised that her children are having struggles given the time she spends on her career.
Are you also going to condemn liberal women who put their families second and ambitiously pursue their careers and their own interests?
Two names that are guaranteed to send left wing nuts in to a total tizzy,Limbaugh and Palin.
“generaston” –
What would I wish for my daughter?
Perhaps more than Miss Runner-Runner-Up in the Miss Alaska competition.
Maybe a little more than a lame college degree (from her 6th college) in “Communications.”
I’d probably cringe nightly as I watched he sportscasts which led to her being the ultimate big fish in the small pond of Wasilla.
In a state with a population less than enrollment of the Los Angeles public school system, I’d probably give my daughter a long-distance “Atta-girl.”
But I’d have compunctions thinking of such a daughter as a heartbeat away from Leadership of the Free World.
I might step forward to my daughter who admitted hours with the mini-bar in an Idaho hotel room about her choice to take a Down Syndrome baby to term and support her choice… whatever it might have been.
But I’d probably remind her she made a choice and her later political position of denying others that same choice might be a tad hypocritical.
I’d try to raise her that way, if she were my daughter.
Have any more fantasies you want me to explore?
The reality is she’s a kinda second-tier MILF who isn’t all that bright and not particularly aware of her status. She’s the Balloon Boy in heels.
Borrowed heels.
Which she’s never given back.
She’s a spunky, telegenic woman who’s the brainchild of William Kristol. And when has William Kristol ever been wrong about anything? (Except, of course, just about everything.)
The best thing about Palin is how she get’s the lib panties in a bunch.
I bet Monkey likes that.
mh…care to get your facts straight?
Los Angeles schools boast a total student population of 463,304 (http://www.schoolsk-12.com/California/Los-Angeles/index.html)
by comparison:
http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/02000.html shows Alaska as 686,000.
Do you care about facts, or do you prefer just making things up to attack palin????
Raptor, Libs don’t care about facts or the truth. Havn’t you heard of relevant truth?
Population of Wichita is 344,284 — that’s just within the city limits and doesn’t count the metro area bedroom communities…
2,802,134 – Jul 2008 population of the state of Kansas.
WOW, puts things in perspective.
that is so true, Don…especially when it comes to launching an attack on someone who obviously scares the heck out of them. so, they make things up to try to belittle her. facts? naaaw, MH don’t need no stinking facts…or truth…or honesty.
linda…that has no bearing on mh’s false claim that Alaska has fewer people than the enrollment of the LA school system.

Going Rogue will be numero uno for awhile. Rupert Murdoch has bought up enough books to keep it there. And with the asking price being like $24.95, and amazon selling it, along with many others, for 8 bucks ($8.95-walmart), one really wonders what they’ll be getting for such a discounted price. And, if you buy a subscription to a number of right-wing rags, you get a free copy. Almost makes me think about buying one. After all, even us progressives need a good laugh once and awhile.
This all leads me to think there is little of substance there, and with basically no one being allowed to critique it prior to release, I’m thinking that, as usual, I’m correct. Expect Dollar General to sell it for a buck fifty in six months or less.
For a good chuckle, visit her facebook entries, and peruse her palin puppet comments. I check it out once and awhile myself, when a good laugh is needed, and believe me, after reading the comments, laughing is what you’ll be doing. http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/sarahpalin?ref=nf
After spending five minutes or less there, it’s easy to see us progressives have nothing to fear from the quitter, and even look forward to more chuckles.
You cons should really purchase Going Rouge. Of course, you’ll have to provide your own crayons, as the black and white pictures aren’t numbered, so filling them in might present a problem to you, but maybe you can all get together and figure it out. Let’s see: if twenty cons occupy one room, the total should equal the intelligence of a half a progressive. Ya, I think twenty of you should be able to figure it out. Go for it.

Pshaw…I’ll just wait until it available for free at that most SOCIALIST!!!! of all institutions…the Public Library.
“The best thing about Palin is how she get’s the lib panties in a bunch.”
Oh, Hell, the left is PRAYING that Palin gets the GOP nod in 2012.
Panties in a bunch? We WANT Palin as the GOP representative!
I will contribute to her campaign for the nomination. I will encourage my liberal friends to switch parties and vote for her in the primaries.
Sarah Palin as the Republican nominee in 2012 would be a gift like a Lionel train under the Christmas tree for liberals.
My dog is smarter than Palin……………….
And that is damning with faint praise.
” Would you hold Hillary up as a role model for your daughter???”
I would now. Not so much when she was in her husband’s shadow.
“someone who obviously terrifies most libs.”
Raptor, I can assure you Palin doesn’t scare me, let alone terrify me, she does, however, disgust me.
Palin only “frightens” me in that her popularity demonstrates that there is a significant population of people in this country who are COMPLETELY out of their minds. Go back and look at my posts when she was picked for VP. I thought it was some sort of stunt and that the REAL running mate would be chosen at the convention a few days later. But for my side of politics, she is an unbelievable gift that just keeps on giving.
” an unbelievable gift that just keeps on giving.”
Joe Biden
My dog is smarter than Palin…
and…
runs at 45 mph
Let me ask the liberals who continually post on Palin Threads (as opposed to Con’s who didn’t even post on the Bush thread today)…………..
Are you master baiting to the photo on the right or the one on the left?
“Are you master baiting to the photo on the right or the one on the left?”
Neither – we have heard Sarah the Wondergirl speak and that has left us all limp.
I feel sorry for Todd – he has to listen to her talk, post coital.
Todd and Sarah (voices by Al and Peg Bundy) in the Wassila Mansion, post coital.
Sarah: Thanks for the quickie, Todd.
Todd: (unintelligible mumbling)
Sarah: Guess what I did today? I sold the Governor’s plane for two million bucks!
Todd: Sarah, they bought that plane for $2.8 mil just two years ago.
Sarah: Well, I sold it to a campaign contributor and anyway, he threw in a snazzy snowmobile for me!
Todd: So how to you plan I visiting remote parts of our state?
Sarah: On the Governor’s snowmobile, of course, silly!
Todd: (unintelligible mumbling)
Sarah: Wanna go again, Todd? Let’s make another Trig!
Todd: Do we have to talk afterward, Sarah, I can’t take too much more of this.
Sarah: Damn, Todd, you’re just like the Liberal Media, just want to screw with you and never listen!

XXX, Why do you libs like play spell police but when you reference the wrong person or gender ect, you act like everybody(libs) does it?

“re:” means in ‘regards’ to – or in ‘reference’ to. Thus you can read Jed’s sentence as:
“My criticism in regards to Trig is conceiving a child in her mid-40’s.”
or
“My criticism in reference to Trig is conceiving a child in her mid-40’s.”
Jed isn’t saying that Trig is conceiving a child in her mid-40’s.
Daniel,
It’s no use trying to correct Donny Brooks. He’s one of those English Only nuts who can’t even understand the language. Maybe I should try typing it in Gaelic.
Debbie-Poo,
“Are you also going to condemn liberal women who put their families second and ambitiously pursue their careers and their own interests?”
If anyone, woman or man has a family, that comes first. Always. If a woman has a career and can raise her kids properly at the same time, I’m all for it. Some women do a fantastic job! Same goes for a man; fathering is just as important!
Sarah has five (5) children that are from all accounts pretty much ignored. In fact I would hazard a guess that she designed her career from the outset as an escape from them and they’ve pretty much had to raise themselves. That’s not parenting.
As for her career, it’s the same thing; I haven’t seen her actually finish anything she started. When the going gets tough, she gets gone! And this is your role model? I get the picture. I get the picture!
Jeddiepoo: be true to your statement. Go after selfish liberal moms BY NAME as you do Sarah Palin.

Which accounts are those?
Can you name one?
Debbie-Poo,
“Go after selfish liberal moms BY NAME as you do Sarah Palin.”
Don’t actually know any.
Kia,
“Which accounts are those?
Can you name one?”
Bristol’s boyfriend’s interview, for one.
