Missouri governor mocks intelligence of Kansans

Nixon, jayFormer Gov. Kathleen Sebelius took some heat several years ago for saying that the quality of the roads in Missouri was scary. Now Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon has poked fun at the intelligence of Kansans. When asked this week whether an expansion of the University of Missouri-Kansas City Dental School could end up training dentists for Kansas, Nixon dismissed the notion that some graduates might want to practice in Kansas. “But it’s so obvious when you cross the state line,” Nixon said as the 100 or so in the audience laughed and applauded, the Kansas City Star reported. “People just start talking slower.”

Nixon doesn’t want to admit the truth: a dentist can’t flourish in Missouri because Missourians just don’t have that many teeth left in their heads.

    pbbbbbbbbbt to you, Nixon!

    Oh, shut up, “BlueJay” –

The problem with progressives is we tend to not address the realities and consequences of CON rhetoric.

I’ve noticed in my interactions with traditional conservatives in a tiny Kansas town they are embarrassed by Limbaugh, O’Reilly, Beck, CONs….

Their instincts are to go with the Repubic Party. As “okobserver” admitted last night, even when she knows nothing about down-ballot candidates, she’ll vote for the Repubic Party candidate “…just because ["ThomasWitt"] is against him.”

I’m frequently reminded, “BlueJay,” that you are a former CON. I appreciate your transformation of thought, but you have not moved all that far away from CONs’ tactics of personal attacks.

Once you realize those tactics are all they’ve got, the substance of your arguments are tainted.

You and I are pretty much universally hated by WE Blog CONs. But they go after you.

On one level I appreciate the distraction. CONs really don’t want to address me on matters of substance or reality. So they go after your kid and your oft inflammatory statements of reality.

You’re leaning into a left hook there, kid.

“Chas” does it, too, and I’ve told him to not fall into the troll-trap dialog WE Blog has come to generate.

Good luck with that. I don’t seek reflection in your eyes anymore than I do any of the cons.

Nixon would better serve Missouri by installing a Banjo Repair College or Meth Manufacturing Institute.

Gov. Nixon seems to forget that the Ozark Plateau is in HIS state.

The old Kansas folks at my church had a Fall dress-up social last month: “Hillbilly Night.”

As Attorney General, Nixon has also been heavily involved in controversial decisions regarding school desegregation, capital punishment, and abortion. Nixon has overseen the state’s involvement in the court settlements that ended mandatory urban busing in St. Louis and Kansas City’s public schools [2]. His role in the desegregation cases has caused friction with some African American leaders. In addition, Missouri Republicans have criticized Nixon for his campaign soliciting campaign contributions from utility companies, including Ameren during an ongoing criminal investigation by his office of the company, which were immediately returned when the matter drew attention.

I wish I could dispute and defend my home state, but unfortunately, I grew up there, and I know all of those things to be so true.

    No, really. Really really.

I am so glad my mom fled the state when I was still young enough to be deprogrammed.

And ya, Oklahoma is just as bad.
