Bush finds new calling

BushThe Bushes have joined the “Get Motivated” seminar program. Asked about George W. Bush’s first speaking gig — today in Fort Worth, on a bill including Colin Powell, Rudy Giuliani, Terry Bradshaw, Zig Ziglar and Robert Schuller — University of Virginia political science professor Larry Sabato suggested the country is beyond asking whether such top-dollar talks should be beneath former presidents. But “Bob Dole selling Viagra — now that lacked dignity,” Sabato told the New York Daily News.

Why Billionaires Should Pay for the Jobless Recovery”
    – Les Leopold

“We are entering the billionaire bailout society.

For the past thirty years we have minted billionaires, and we have created the most unequal distribution of wealth since 1928-29. This didn’t happen by accident. We deliberately deregulated the financial sector and we deliberately eliminated the steep progressive taxes on the super-rich that had kept in check our income distribution.

By unleashing capital and finance we were supposed to get an enormous investment boom in real goods and services. Instead we got a fantasy finance boom as Wall Street marketed derivatives to those with excess capital.

We also got the biggest crash since the Great Depression.

Ft. Worth is a 1st? 43 Has given the motivation or other speeches in Edmonton, Calgary, Regina, Montreal and Toronto, the latter wth Bill Clinton. In all cases he was warmly received by sell out crowds, save for the few predictable, protesters de jour on hand. I guess Rhonda doesn’t keep up with the rest of the world much

Now President G. W. Bush did motivate me, he speak at the ruble was wonderful.
Later he motivated me to become Political aware, until him I was a single issue voter.

2ND amendment was the only thing I thought about, the Republicans were protecting my right.

The Democratic were trying to take them away.

Until Bush I had not heard of the Neo-Conservatives and their agenda of “Because we are the biggest kid on the play ground we should be forcing the rest of the kids to obey our whims.”.

I had no idea that the “Conservatives” had gain so much power within the Republican party and were destroying the party. That the party had been taken over by Ideologs, not thinkers but simple minded Ideologs who set in their window-less rooms and perceive the outside World from their darken room.
The sun is shining for them when they wish it not to rain, the World is the creation within their minds. And reality is only that which they want it to be.

Yes G.W. Bush is a motivation, let him speak and explain his mind that has no windows.
Let the Conservatives give their money to him as without it they can not inflect themselves on others.

Give them a place to gather and while there the Republicans can try to correct the party.
Give the Cons another bright and shiny object to hold their attention while the rest of us try to save the Republican party.

    To be fair Linda,

Clinton brought Monica to her knees, and he is giving motivational speeches.

After bankrupting the nation bush needs to hit the circuit to ‘replenish the coffers’.
I see Cramer has a new book coming out to debut as #1 titled “Getting Back to Even”. Has a financial best seller ever advocated just getting back to where you were? I think it is a bush inspired first.

    What’s Shrub’s “motivational” speech called?

    “First, Pick the Right Parents.”

I think bush’s message is “Do what your gut tells you, consequences be damned!” Or, “The Free Market isn’t free (someone’s got to pay for it).

I can’t see bringing America to her knees and bringing Monica to her knees as an apples to apples comparison. Clinton wasn’t much of a man, but he was a better leader. Whatever rocks your boat — I’m sure bush would be happy to take your money when you go listen to him ‘motivate’ you.

Writerdog, do I hear you saying that everyone is good for something even if it’s as a bad example? :-) You are correct that bush the lesser did motivate many to pay more attention — me included! Let’s learn that lesson well the first time so it’s never repeated!

By all accounts, Monica was a willing participant. I don’t recall many Americans asking Bush and Gang to wreck our economy, have a war-for-profit and try to dismantle the Constitution piece by piece.

Linda: It was Clinton who expanded the original Reagan Free Trade agreement with Canada, which prospered both countries, to include Mexico. I recall the protestations from the North about this at the time but after being told to take it or lump it, they gave in to their biggest customer and now both have suffered from the Clinton arrogance. BTW I forgot to note that the G&M also reported a solo address given by Clinton in Toronto in August had to reduce the ticket price down to $5.000 to make sure there was no embarassing pictures of empty seats.
