Presidents miscast as teachers-in-chief?

Obama School SpeechOn the Daily Beast, Conor Friedersdorf suggested that presidents, whatever their politics, stay out of classrooms. “I object to the automatic elevation of presidents generally to the role of ‘trusted moral leader,’” he wrote, “so I wish President Obama and all his successors would eschew that role, rather than entrenching its precedent more deeply. America requires constitutional officers and moral leaders. We’d save ourselves a lot of unnecessary trouble if we established a bright line between those roles, rather than blurring them in accordance with our ideological affection for the person who happens to be in power.”

Obama on American apologizes to the world.
    Obama on fashion
    Obama on blowing your nose
Obama on sneezing into your sleeve

Obama will next come into our bathrooms and tell Americans how to wipe their but ts.

It’s the Obama Show all day everyday.

I think this guy is full of, well, himself.

BTW, anyone else notice that every photo of Obama shows his hands in motion? Not so much anyone else.

The media portrays him like a childs action figure.

Who else should the media be reporting about?

    Sarah Palin?

    Dick Cheney?

    John McCain?

    Bobby Jindal?

It seems some you haven’t gotten over the fact that Barack Obama was elected Presdient of the United States in November of 2008. There was no dispute as to the outcome of the election. Of course he is going to be in the media.

He is your president as well as mine

I’m afraid I’m not the one who hasn’t gotten over the election.

It’s election fever every day still. We don’t need Obama on the front page and on every news channel all day long every day.

We don’t need that from ANY president.

Government run smoothly is NOT the focus of life. It should be running in the background.

BTW, he is “in the media” because he places himself there. You are missing my original point. He tells us how to sneese, how to wipe our noses, how to study, how to apologize to the world (he IS America in Obamaland rather than “representing”).

During the election, Obama talked pretty tough on fathers being responsible for the children they bring into this world.

Perhaps for his next movie, Obama could demonstrate to children how to put on a condom.

Aren’t you a bit paranoid there Amway?

My day to day life hasn’t changed substansially since Obama took office except that now I don’t have to worry about how our President will make this great country look foolish. We all had eight years of that nonsense.

The mainstream media is just doing their jobs, reporting the news.

FIXed “News” spreads their signature hate, 24/7.

Obama dropping bombs on women and children in Pakistan doesn’t make us look foolish? Obama threatening North Korea to not build nukes, or talking strong about Iran building nukes doesn’t look foolish to you? Both the later countries are proceeding to bombs away.

Or maybe Iran caught red handed delivering weapons to terrorists in Iraq last week, and Israel in the past doesn’t make America look foolish?

How about that much publised apology to muslims and their still hating America – does’nt look foolish?

I think you are living in a dream.

    Stop the spin

The military incursion into the middle east was of Bush’s doing.

North Korea was doing the same crap under Bush.

Iran was doing the same crap under Bush.

There have been no “apologies” to muslims as you claim.

President Obama is just playing the hand he was dealt.

Everything in the world is the republican Bush’s fault.

    Jeez, “American_Way” –

What a silly thing to grouse about.

Dunno if you noticed, but George WMD Bush spent more than 400 days of his presidency “on vacation” in Crawford, Kennebunkport, or Camp David.

It may upset CONs this president is actually working for a living, but ya gotta admire his work ethic.

bush is the answer for nothing but his administration is the reason for most of our country’s problems. Just because bush the lesser wasn’t a president who worked for the people, kept us informed, reassured, and encouraged, doesn’t mean we quit expecting that from the person we elected to the office.

President Obama is on the job as we expected when we elected him!

Our nation’s children need to learn more (not less!) about the roles of elected officials. Telling children they are respected, honoring their participation and contributions, telling them we are proud to someday turn over the reins to them and we know they are preparing — sounds like setting them up to succeed!

They are our tomorrow, and they deserve our attention, including the presidents.

Liberal Presidents and politicians BELONG in the schools. Liberals care about people. Cons do not care about people and can best demonstrate that by staying away.

It’s not just Obama on TV.. .
We have Joe The Shouter breaking written House Rules and refusing to apologize to the House, we have the Republican Spanker in the California State House, we have the South Carolina Adulterer/Hiker Governor. We have Eric Cantor (a Great White Hope) with adoring crowds childishly chanting “Liar Liar Pants on Fire.”

We have Texans calling for secession from the United States. We have anti-Obama gun packers holding signs that “NOW is the time to Water the Tree of Liberty with Blood”

We have Todd Tiahrt taking donations from and out-of-state corporation and writing them earmarks.

There’s a lot of good stuff on TV.

I remember that morning when the President of the United States thought it more important for kids to learn how “My Pet Goat” turned out than it was for him to address an ongoing attack against America.

Presidents have always been role models, like it or not. What do we say to our kids, “You could grow up to be the President someday”, and for our female children, we hope that to be someday true.

I heard no banter over any other president addressing schoolchildren. It was a good thing to do, regardless of your political beliefs. When Bush read ‘my pet goat’ to a bunch of schoolkids, did you really think he had brought some twirly psychadelic hypnotizing machine? No, he got slammed for sitting there for 7 minutes while our nation was under attack instead of excusing himself right away.

The cons sunk to a low I have never seen before, even lower than attacking Kerry’s war status, to somehow believe that Obama would do something to indoctrinate our kids…from what? What EXACTLY do they think will happen as a result of the president talking to the kids? These are the SAME PEOPLE who get p’d that they can’t lead prayer in school!

At the heart of this, it seems like racism to me. There are people who do not want their children to see a black man with influence. The excuses are the same pathetic ones they would give if they had a black or gay person in their interview chair. A whole bunch of BS.
