Operation Rescue needs financial rescue

Newman, troyTroy Newman, president of Wichita-based Operation Rescue, sent out an emergency fundraising plea to the anti-abortion group’s supporters. He wrote: “Not only did George Tiller’s death throw everybody in the pro-life movement for a loop (and especially us), but the economic crisis our nation is suffering from has brought our financial support to nearly a halt.” Funding willing, Newman says, “in the next 30 days, we’re planning to launch the most ambitious and most significant project in our entire history. It’s something that’s going to devastate the abortion cartel. It could even help end abortion in America once and for all.”

It would be nice to see this bunch of neo rightist religious nutcases out of business. A woman’s right to abortion- at least in early pregnancy- is a FUNDAMENTAL right! And it does not matter what these folks do, abortion is HERE to STAY!

I would change the mission of Operation Rescue to picking up all the dead birds from the wind farms. There appears to be a future in it.

That’s what happens when one of your followers kills your cash cow. And I suspect Troy is just being a drama queen, besides he pays himself a 60K salary, naive people send them checks thinking their helping “save” babies when all their really doing is helping Troy line his pockets

Seriously Rhonda, you advertised for help for this terrorist group? Are you out of your mind?

Folks, the pro-choice movement working against these terrorists need help too. They cannot do it without your support for money or action. Obviously the media is basically doing free advertising for this group. Defend your freedoms, give to NOW or Planned Parenthood today.

Troy said they were broke, but he and 3 others get their entire salary from OR donors. Perhaps Troy should do what the rest of us do who are ardent active pro-choice supporters, get a real job and volunteer for this.

I have to agree political mom. Rhonda WHAT are you thinking. Will you be publishing Newman’s full manifesto?

    Shame on you.

The Washington Post had a far more in-depth article on this. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/09/15/AR2009091502192_pf.html

Note how this looks less like advertising and more like a story on their boo-hoo?

When I was a kid Mad Magazine did a piece on the absolute panic charities go through when, horror of horrors!, researchers have the audacity to develop a cure for their chosen disease.

Like Jonas Salk practically ruined the March of Dimes when he developed the vaccine. So they scrambled around and chose a more vague cause: to fight birth defects. The Easter Seals people were nearly wiped out by progress treating tuberculosis; shifted to cigarettes as the “Lung” association. The gist is: these outfits are primarily fund-raising enterprises, a rich mailing list of donors, a whole infrastructure of people making fine living off beg-a-thons.

I think his ploy will work. He’ll be flush inside a week, maybe have enough to give himself a raise. Meanwhile, nothing he or his organization does will make abortion illegal. Saddest, is that nothing he or his organization does will reduce the numbers of abortions performed.

Gee, Troy Newman lost his meal ticket, poor baby.

He may have to get a real job.

I’m sure than Alan Cobb could put him to work organizing state chapters for Americans for Prosperity. Same gene pool.

Isn’t this his fund-raising method? Whine and scare, appeal to the emotions of those most gullible and least informed (the ones he has convinced he is actually doing something / anything worthwhile).

Maybe Troy-Boy will have to get a REAL job! I can just see it … “So, Mr. Newman, what are your skills?” “Well, I’m real good at calling people nasty names and casting stones … “

    bth,
Who knows, he might make a crackerjack used-car salesmen at one of those schlock lots on S. B’way. Or he might bring those female demonstrators of his along and start the World’s Ugliest Women Christian Bordello!

First, Troy pays himself more than $60,000. Second, he has his rental properties in Sedgwick and Butler Counties to keep him afloat. Third, this is another of his scams on the people who think when they donate money to OR they’re “saving babies.” No, they’re paying Troy and convicted felon Cheryl’s salaries. They’re paying for the Trash Trucks. And they’re paying for Troy’s life of the gentleman farmer out in Towanda.

If OR actually were going out of business that would be a blessing for good people everywhere. But don’t hold your breath. And don’t think Troy has anything new going on. It will be the same old “harass the patients and clinic workers” game. Whoever said that Troy lost his cash cow in Dr. Tiller is so right. Now he has to create a new enemy and leave Wichita to do his dirty work.

Gotta love it, when the eagle doesn’t like the comments on their website, as in the link to this article, they shut down the comments section so you can’t access it. Must have had some negative feedback eh? I wonder if that’s why my posts aren’t coming thru, I’m being punished.

Y’mean like dressing up in a cockroach suit? Troyboy never had a useful idea in his life and he’s unlikely to start now. His recent culturing of mentally ill Scott Roeder cost him the only thing that paid him a salary for the little that he actually does. So c’mon Troy, let’s hear this marvelous secret plan! Or maybe you think you can con christians out of cash again with just pie in the sky? Well, it has worked before.
