With the GOP primary for U.S. Senate now less than a year away, expect rivals Reps. Jerry Moran and Todd Tiahrt to get more specific about their differences. To a Lawrence crowd last week, Moran mentioned his votes against the Medicare prescription-drug bill and No Child Left Behind bill and said: “I have never gone to Washington with the belief that my loyalty is to my party leaders. My loyalty is to the Kansans I represent.” When asked whether he was referring to Tiahrt (who had voted for the drug bill and for an early version of No Child), Moran said that “he said, he said” talk was premature but he was talking about “the things that I feel are my attributes.”
