Lesson for kids in Jones’ demise

magnifyingglassNew York Times columnist Tom Friedman took away a useful lesson from how Van Jones’ present job was undone by his past. On NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Friedman said: “When everyone has a cell phone, everyone’s a photographer. When everyone has access to YouTube, everyone’s a filmmaker. And when everyone’s a blogger, everyone’s a newspaper. When everyone’s a photographer, a newspaper and a filmmaker, everyone else is a public figure. Tell your kids. . . ‘be careful.’ Every move they make is now a digital footprint.”

Jones didn’t do or say anything wrong in my opinion.

But hey? Cons want to play the game? We should have cameras on them at all times. Follow them to the Klan rallies and other sordid places they go.

It’s already gotten so that actual human beings can’t pass muster. No matter who it is, the other side will exaggerate it and those who choose will believe the outrageous exaggerations. From there it becomes like that old children’s game of gossip and by the time it goes around the circle it bears no resemblance to what was said at the beginning.

Worst is those people who have chosen sides to the point they add to the problems. They take anything and everything and make it something different, something bad, something they can use as a weapon against those they perceive as opposition. Those people are TRULY EVIL or TRULY STUPID!

There are so-called news organizations spreading the lies, engineering the lies, exaggerating the lies. They have one purpose only — to indoctrinate the partisan and achieve the goal of stoking the fires of hate, for the purpose of ratings and advertisers money.

Did Jones do anything wrong? No. But he is what he is.

The real lesson, of course, is not for Jones, but for Obama. One should thoroughly vet the past of those one appoints, and one does not appoint radicals in a center-right nation.

    Duh.

A rookie mistake. But rookie mistakes seem to be a habit for this administration.

Barack Obama has now appointed more than 33 Czars. These are unelected, and unaccountable people, who exercise authority over broad segments of our economy. They all report direct to President Obama and are unaccountable to anyone else.

Our U.S. Constitution does not provide for the appointment of Czars by any President. By appointing Czars, Obama has been able to completely circumvent the checks and balances that were built into our Constitution. This is a very dangerous precedent.

It wouldn’t be quite so bad if these Czars were average American citizens. They are not. Many of the Czars are extreme radicals – among them are Communists, Marxists, and even one who espouses forced population control policies. (More facts at the enclosed site)

Clearly no radical should be a personal advisor to any American President, and under no circumstance should they wield unbridled power to do as they please without any accountability. If this makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck, it should. No President, or any other politician, has ever exercised so much power without any Constitutional restraints.

If you love your freedoms, and your country, it is time to learn more about these Czars and what is going on in our government, Start by going to the enclosed site and listen to the information posted there.

Health Bill Could Benefit 6.6 Million Illegals,

    Cost $31 Billion

    Tuesday, September 8, 2009 8:47 AM

As President Obama addresses the nation on healthcare reform, a new analysis by the Center for Immigration Studies estimates that 6.6 million uninsured illegal immigrants could receive benefits under the House health reform bill (H.R. 3200).

While the bill states that illegal immigrants are not eligible for the new taxpayer-funded affordability credits, there is nothing in the bill to enforce this provision. Congress defeated efforts to require the use of the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program. More than 70 other programs of this kind use SAVE.

The report is available at http://www.cis.org/IllegalsAndHealthCareHR3200. Among the findings:

•In 2007, there were an estimated 6.6 million illegal immigrants without health insurance who had incomes below 400 percent of poverty, which is the income ceiling for the new affordability premium credits.

•If all uninsured illegal immigrants with incomes below 400 percent of poverty received the new credits, the estimated cost to the federal government would be $30.5 billion annually.

•The current cost of treating uninsured illegal immigrants at all levels of government is an estimated $4.3 billion a year, primarily at emergency rooms and free clinics.

•On July 16 an amendment by Rep. Dean Heller (R-NV) that would have required the use of the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program to prevent illegal immigrants from receiving the affordability credits was defeated by the House Ways and Means Committee.

•At present 71 other means-tested federal programs require use of the SAVE system to prevent illegal immigrants and other ineligible non-citizens from accessing them.

•Even though there is no mechanism to prevent enrollment, it is likely that many income-eligible illegal immigrants would not enroll out of fear or lack of knowledge of the new programs. Thus the actual costs would be less than the maximum estimate of $30.5 billion. However, if illegal immigrants are legalized and could receive affordability credits, a much larger percentage would be expected to enroll, with a corresponding increase in costs.

•Uninsured illegal immigrants tend to use less in healthcare on average than others without health insurance because they tend to be young. This fact is incorporated into the current cost estimate of $4.3 billion. However, government-provided affordability credits paid to insurance companies are the same for everyone regardless of age or preexisting conditions. Therefore, the younger age of illegals does not result in lower average costs for taxpayers for this program.

•It is also worth noting that the report estimates that 38 percent of illegal immigrants had health insurance in 2007. Additionally, the report estimates that there are at least 360,000 uninsured illegal immigrants with incomes above 400 percent of poverty who would not qualify for benefits under H.R. 3200.

•It is also possible that illegal immigrants could benefit from the expansion of Medicaid under H.R. 3200. The bill does not require identity verification for those claiming U.S. birth. Of illegal immigrants with incomes under 400 percent of poverty, about half live under 133 percent of poverty, which is the new ceiling for Medicaid eligibility.

•On July 30 an amendment by Rep. Nathan Deal (R-GA) that would have required identity variation for those claiming U.S. birth was defeated by the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

The Center for Immigration Studies is an independent research institution that examines the impact of immigration on the United States. It has no position on the health reform legislation before Congress or any other matter unrelated to immigration.

Lesson for kids in Jones’ demise :

Don’t be a radical self proclaimed communist and expect to get very far in politics.

Pretty simple. Pretty straight forward. Guess Jones and Obama missed the memo.

How many of Obama’s choices have stepped down? How does this reflect on Obama’s decision making skills?

Are there any rational folks on the left that can see the pattern? Are the Obama glasses really that fun to wear?

Oh wow, I guess it just hit me. This thread is about getting caught. It mentions neither Jones’ radical views (as stated by Jones himself) nor his actions. Just as long as you don’t get video taped while doing said radical things.

GOP Rep Grabs ‘Czar’ List From FreeRepublic

By David Weigel 9/9/09 1:20 PM

Following up on this morning’s post about Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.) calling for a hearing on “44 czars,” I asked McHenry’s spokesman Brock McCleary where that number came from.

“We’re using a variety of sources and finding everyone who has been referred to as a ‘czar,’” said McCleary. “It would be appropriate for the WH to release a formal list.”

In the meantime, McClearly provided me with two sources that McHenry’s office is using to build a czar list: this list from Politico, and this thread from the conservative web forum FreeRepublic.com. The FreeRepublic thread begins with a list from the conservative AmericanDaughter.com, which calls the appointment of czars “the beginnings of dictatorship” and includes several administration officials who’ve actually been confirmed by the Senate.

The FreeRepublic list, and some comments from that thread — which got pretty wild, as is the norm for the site — are after the jump:

    1. Afghanistan-Pakistan (Af-Pak) czar, Richard Holbrooke

    13. Domestic violence czar, Lynn Rosenthal

    14. Drug czar, Gil Kerlikowske

    15. Economic czar, Larry Summers

    16. Economic czar number two, Paul Volcker

Latin-American czar, Arturo Valenzuela (nominee) [although this post is referred to as a czar, he is nominatied to be Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs and so is subject to Senate confirmation.
