    I remember how productive the days away from the office were for me — away from the demands of the phone and the appointments, the questions…

    Of course, I realize all of that continues for the position of president no matter where he is! I also remember how everyone on this discussion board was reminded overandover of how bush wasn’t really on vacation when he was at his Texas ranch!

    Sol, As long as I live I’ll never forget George W. Bush and will spend the balance of my life doing all I can to protect against a repeat of those eight years! It’s my duty as a citizen of this great country!

    Really? How about Obama outpacing Bush’s spending? Surely you don’t want a repeat of the expansion of government and massive spending of dollars we don’t have under the bush admin?

    What have you done to stop obama from repeating the above mistakes from bush’s term?

    You’ve made an assumption about what I think that is inaccurate.

    If I were to explain what I do think (AGAIN!) you would have a rebuttal about what you think, and we’ve been through it so many times (not you and I personally but you’ve read me, I’ve read you) that I have no desire to go through it again. I think we’re both capable of stating our opinions well enough that neither needs to repeat them ad nauseam. I understand your position and have made mine clear.

    Probably we’ll both go on doing what we each choose to do, fighting the battles we choose and in the ways we choose. I see nothing in that to argue about! I trust that we’re both adult enough to respect the other whether we agree or not. I know we’re both adult enough to realize the function of an opinion blog isn’t to call other adults names or to think any person is superior to another simply because of the opinion they hold.

    Just curious as to what it was you feel you need to defend our great nation from. Apparently it is not spending money we don’t have and not ever expanding government.
