Bond issue already pays off

schoolmoneyAfter all the drama over the Wichita school district’s contract to install artificial turf on the high schools’ football fields as part of the $370 million bond issue, the purchase already as paid off — not only for Texas-based Hellas, which got a bonus for its speed, but for kids and the community. Tuesday’s junior varsity and freshman games between Wichita Northwest and Kapaun Mount Carmel avoided rain cancellation by moving to Northwest’s new turf field.

Wow! So glad my taxes went up so a game wasn’t delayed by rain. Digging pretty deep to justify that bond issue, are we Rhonda?

I’m glad the kids are getting good usage of the facilities.

Ensuring that our children have good facilities to learn and recreate is important to the City of Wichita and the future of our coutnry.

Delaying/rescheduling a game increases costs. Maintaining grass fields is costly.

The bond issue is already providing an ROI.

Cool, glad my high school Alma Mater could provide their facilities and their new turf to avoid a canceled game. Go Grizzlies

one benefit of spending close to 400 MILLION dollars is that a game (repeat..A GAME) is not postponed?

What kind of priorities is that? Recent news story pointed out how test scores are falling, but we can be “proud” because a GAME isn’t cancelled?????
