The only way to end this crap is for the justice department to send Bush/Cheney and any of the other administration war criminal to jail.
These two clowns turned this nation into the very thing we fought against in several other places around the world in eight short years time.
Don`t even think Bush didn`t know about all this and approve of it. It`s the old game of good cop bad cop, I know nothing bullship.

The problem is none of the azz holes in congress has the guts to stand up for the Constitution they swore to uphold.

These crooks make what Nixon did look like child’s play and they are going to get away with it. Friggin amazing. We have a group of gutless wonders in Washington.

Actually, Sarah Palin is quite a legitimate subject there, JJ. Incredibly, many people still want her to be president.

But I suppose you have a point. How important is this flakey woman’s resignation compared to, say, the Obama administration’s disgraceful, shocking and utterly indefensible embrace of Stalinist-Bushist–monarchist tactics like indefinite detention? One would think that one was settled with the habeas corpus rule in the Magna Carta (1215), or the similar provision against suspending the Great Writ in our Constitution, but apparently, in post-Bush America, we’re operating under some radically different, undefined charter.

Feel free to be paranoid, JJ–for a change you might be right, and he’ll probably come after the likes of you first.

Actually, if you look at long-term historical trends, it kinda sucks to be Republican. The recent 12-year congressional majority is less impressive when you consider how they barely held onto it, and had to steal the presidency in 2000. Prior to that, they held the White House for 12 but couldn’t even win the House, or keep the Senate.

And, of course, following the Great Depression, there was a long period in the wilderness (after World II, the parties changed hands repeatedly. Yeah, they liked Ike, but the Dems won Congress in 1954, and kept it for the next 26 years.

I used to bemoan the Democrats’ uncanny ability to self-destruct, but in the long run they have certainly been outdone.

And if I was Republican now, I would scratching my head wondering what sort of alternative to the Obama coalition can win elections in the future.

And I’d look over the past 76 years, and wince.

I don’t want the cons to put Palin up for the republican nominee, the American people have proven too often that they are gullible to ignorant politicians who just attack. Since Palin cannot ever win on her smarts and wit, that’s the only other way she might.

And then we’d have another Bush/Cheney situation. The US cannot afford another bad president right now.
