Palin is all about victimization

APTOPIX Republican Convention“If political figures stand for ideas, victimization is what Ms. Palin is all about,” Thomas Frank wrote in a Wall Street Journal column. “It is her brand, her myth. Ronald Reagan stood tall. John McCain was about service. Barack Obama has hope. Sarah Palin is a collector of grievances. She runs for high office by griping.
“This is no small thing, mind you. The piling-up of petty complaints is an important aspect of conservative movement culture. For those who believe that American life consists of the trampling of Middle America by the ‘elites’ — that our culture is one big insult to the pious and the patriotic and the traditional — Sarah Palin’s long list of unfair and disrespectful treatment is one of her most attractive features. Like Oliver North, Robert Bork and Clarence Thomas, she is known not for her ideas but as a martyr, a symbol of the culture-war crimes of the left.”

    Again,

Palin obviously scares the poop out of the LIBs, otherwise they wouldn’t STILL be jabbering on about her 8 months after the election.

She has taken “it’s someone else’s fault” to a level never attained by mankind before.

But I think she is HOT in a quitterly, chaste and teabagging for Jesus kind of way.

    Ant,
Actually, Palin isn’t what’s scary, it’s all those wingnuts who think she’s presidential material.

Yep that Thomas Frank is my kind of writer. Gripe, Gripe Gripe while telling us the other person is griping. Palin is looking better all the time. The left is having spasams and just can’t convince her to crawl under a rock and stay silent.

Thomas Frank is one author I will never read. Minds can only stand no much garbage and then you start sounding like a lib.

Brownlee where is the opposite viewpoint in your fair and balanced approach to Palin?

Wow Brownlee, and the rest of the libs, that little lady sure has your skivvies all bunched up.
What are you so afraid of????
You getting paranoid there is more to her and what she can do than you are comfortable with?

If anyone can stand as the poster child for obfuscation, she can. On her quitting the governorship, she complained about the media, and yet she jumped all over Hillary, saying she was too thinned skinned for letting the media get to her in march of this year (and she said her quitting had been in the works for months). She complained about the money Alaska spent on all the ethics charges brought against her, even though those same dollars were to be spent regardless.

She complains about everything: a high-maintenance woman with a no-maintenance brain. But, hey, if that’s what the republicans want as their leader, who am I to complain. Bring the quitter on.

As for being scared of her, as anti implies, then I have to assume the cons are scared sh**less of us libs, as they keep telling us how bad libs are.

Thomas Frank has hit the nail on the head once again.

    Martyrs in the right-wing culture wars . . .

    Perfect.

Libs don’t like her because she’s a real American.

    WRONG.

Libs don’t like her because she’s an idiot.

Oh, God, as I have said before we HOPE and PRAY that the GOP nominates Sarah “I Quit” Palin for president.

It would be a dream come true for us.

Ya’ll don’t get it – we fan the flames of the GOP’s defensiveness about Palin just SO the Republicans ride to the rescue of the damsel in distress.

We keep pushing, ya’ll on the Right keep defending, Palin gets the nomination, Obama wins a second term in a landslide.

    Dang, isn’t it obvious?

Obviously that wasn’t an issue with most Americans since Obama is the President and McCain/Palin is not!

(btw do you really think Palin is the best the conservative movement has to offer? I don’t.)
