P-Mom,
Yeah, Terry's creepy, but not even remotely as creepy as his (and Newman's) friend Neal Horsley, who has bragged about his love affairs with farm animals. I have no idea how many he's knocked up, but I'll bet none of 'em got abortions!

"...there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of." [Ginsberg Interview, NYTimes]

Okie, please notice that this is NOT what Ginsberg thinks now OR when Roe was decided... It is her perception of some of the feelings at that time... Surely you arent so BLIND that you cant plainly see that... WND only posts a PART of what Justice Ginsberg says in the interview... I believe in the FULL interview, there are about 3 - 4 paragraphs on the entire issue of abortion.... Try reading the entire interview... set to be printed in this week's NYTimes....

Ginsbereg is in NO WAY involved in ANY Eugenics ideas... To suggest otherwise, is to trample on her own religious beliefs as a Jewish person...

By the way, heard thru the Grapevine about Randall Terry's visit to Wichita was...well..interesting.

He was attempting to give interviews in front of Dr Tiller's clinic but was unable to due to unnamed protestors. His band of (3) people and countless protestors (heck some could have been from Operation Rescue West. Anyway, Randall Terry started rubbing up against the protestors touching them and telling them that 'you women want me'. and slapping himself on the butt in front of the women. EW. What a disgusting pervert. I also understand that the one that was being assaulted by Terry filed a police report.

Gee this guy is even too creepy for Troy Newman. HA.

Oh and Randall Terry informed the women that he was buying a house in wichita. Go confirm that Eagle. It'll be Terry vs Troy in round after round of entertainment!

MLK's granddaughter is led by ignorance. She has been swayed by the nonsense that abortion is hurting African Americans when it is uncontrolled poverty that is hurting African Americans. Adding babies to the mix is even more harmful. She's not being truthful. Abortion arguement was never about killing off a race. It was by far more white women seeking abortions during that time anyway.

Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of. So that Roe was going to be then set up for Medicaid funding for abortion.
---------
Chas how are you intrepreting this quote from Ginsbury you posted. Who do you think she didn't want to have to many of. Why is MLKs neice now battling against abortions? I know the answer just wondered if you do.

THIS is what Ginsburg actually said in the upcoming NY Times Interview...

"JUSTICE GINSBURG: Yes, the ruling about that surprised me. [Harris v. McRae — in 1980 the court upheld the Hyde Amendment, which forbids the use of Medicaid for abortions.] Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of. So that Roe was going to be then set up for Medicaid funding for abortion. Which some people felt would risk coercing women into having abortions when they didn’t really want them. But when the court decided McRae, the case came out the other way. And then I realized that my perception of it had been altogether wrong." [Pg. 4 NY Times Interview set to print July 12] (Access thru WND link above)

Please note that Ginsberg does ot believe that there are populations that we dont want to have too many of(ala, WND emphasis) -- but rather what Ginsburg states there was a concern about in the nation.... As usual, WND is a bunch of hacks and liars...

Republican candidates lead Democrats for the second straight week in the latest edition of the Generic Congressional Ballot.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 41% would vote for their district's Republican congressional candidate while 38%
would choose the Democratic candidate.

Support for the GOP remains unchanged this week - at its highest level over the past year, but support for Democrats dropped one point to tie
its lowest level in the same time period.

WASHINGTON -- An income tax surcharge on highly paid Americans emerged as the leading option Wednesday night as House Democrats sought ways to
pay for health care legislation that President Obama favors, several officials said.
As discussed in the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee, the surtax would apply to individuals with adjusted gross income of more
than $200,000 and couples over $250,000, they added. Foxnews

Other than family, I think this is the best thing Democrats can do. The polls said over half of those making more than the above amounts voted democrat in the last election. Polls also show that for the majority of Americans, healthcare is not a crises - but those with insurance have concern for the uninsured. This is going to be a double whamming getting people ticked at libs.

They are getting what they voted for.

A fine example of pitting class against class in America. A fine example of robin hood.

Of course, it's all wrong, but that's besides my point.

As I predicted months ago, giving FREE MONEY to the states only enables the states to continue their unsound financial practices of spending more than they have. Like enabling an alcoholic - our gubermint hands out money. Without states cutting spending, the cycle will never end.

Cash-strapped states have used federal stimulus dollars to closeshort-term budget gaps and avert major tax increases but generally have term expansion, according to a new report.

The report released Wednesday by the Government Accountability Office, Congress' investigative arm, found that the $787 billion stimulus
package is being used to "cushion" state budgets, prevent teacher layoffs, make more Medicaid payments and head off other fiscal problems.

The Congressional Budget Office estimates that only 10 percent of the Recovery Act funds have been released so far, with about half of the
money expected to be spent by October 2010. That dispersed money is being used to prioritize short-term projects and needs over more ambitious goals, the GAO report states.

For example, the GAO said about half the money set aside for road and bridge repairs is being used to repave highways, rather than build new
infrastructure. And state officials aren't steering the money toward counties that need jobs the most, auditors found.

Taxpayers have also recently complained that the federal government has wasted money by advertising stimulus-funded construction projects with road signs which costs between $500 and $1,200 to produce.

A 'heads up' for those men who may be regular Home Depot customers.

This one caught me by surprise.

Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite
traumatic. Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you or your friends.

Here's how the scam works: Two seriously good-looking 20-21 year-old girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping
into the trunk. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts. It is impossible not to look. When you thank them and offer them a tip, they
say 'No' and instead ask you for a ride to McDonald's. You agree and they get in the backseat. On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet.

I had my wallet stolen Jan 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, 17th,20th, 24th & 29th. Also, Feb 1st, 4th, twice on the 8th, 16th, 23rd,26th, 28th, three times last Saturday and very likely again this upcoming weekend. So tell your friends to be careful.

P.S. Wal-Mart has wallets on sale $2.99 each.

Katrina was a disaster which impacted a couple of states.

The Recession is impacting the entire nation.

And the Obama Administration ineffective and inefficient management is not getting relief to the fifty states. No stimulus.

P*ss Poor Planning.
P*ss Poor Performance.

Worst president. Ever.

Just watched Larry King's exchange with a street bum.

King was coming out from eating dinner and was approached by a street man panhandling.

Larry gave the guy 5 bucks.

The bum hollars back, "Hey Larry- you owe me twenty!"

Now isn't that just like Obama?

Q: Let me ask you about the fight you waged for the courts to understand that pregnancy discrimination is a form of sex discrimination.

JUSTICE GINSBURG: I wrote about it a number of times. I litigated Captain Struck’s case about reproductive choice. [In 1972, Ginsburg represented Capt. Susan Struck, who became pregnant during her service in the Air Force. At the time, the Air Force automatically discharged any woman who became pregnant and told Captain Struck that she should have an abortion if she wanted to keep her job. The government changed the regulation before the Supreme Court could decide the case.] If the court could have seen Susan Struck’s case — this was the U.S. government, a U.S. Air Force post, offering abortions, in 1971, two years before Roe.

Q: And suggesting an abortion as the solution to Struck’s problem.

JUSTICE GINSBURG: Yes. Not only that, but it was available to her on the base.

I think I'm with Kohn on this, the FED needs to be apolitical (even if Greenspan wasn't).
"The proposed bill, put forward by Representative Ron Paul, a Texas Republican and long-standing Fed foe, would expose decisions on monetary policy and emergency lending to audits by the Government Accountability Office.

The GAO is currently prohibited from auditing these areas. Kohn said removing this exclusion would be highly detrimental and could lead investors to worry that politics -- not economics -- would guide the Fed's decisions.

"The Federal Reserve strongly believes that removing the statutory limits on GAO audits of monetary policy matters would be contrary to the public interest by tending to undermine the independence and efficacy of monetary policy," Kohn said.

He also said it could "cast a chill" on monetary policy deliberations by making officials nervous that ideas they discuss behind closed doors could become public.

Paul denied his bill was about Fed independence. "We are not looking to the Congress to run monetary policy. We just want to know what's going on, and why," he told Kohn.

However, the bill would remove a provision of law that exempts Fed monetary policy decisions, transactions with other central banks and discussions between Fed officials from GAO audits.
