It was heartening that so many people came forward this week with new bicycles and donations for Heartspring, after news that half a dozen bikes used by special-needs children had been stolen. Now the organization will be able to provide bikes to even more of the kids it serves. Once again, people in this community saw a wrong and acted to make it right.

I have a special place in my heart for Heartspring, when they were at 21st and Jardine I was a foot patrol there for a time. Great place and a real hope for the children there. Aside of being shot at three times there, it was a wonderful experience.
A good thing for a worthy cause…
I love heartsprings for the wonderful work they do. I hear about their good deeds up here all the time.
Was BJ investigated for this bicycle theft?
BJ admited to stealing dirt, so stealing bikes from special needs kids would certainly be at his level.
BJ didn’t bother to move fast enough to take advantage of the cash for clunkers program before it ran dry after a week.
He probably needs new wheels.
Reminds me of the Queen lyrics:
Bicycle bicycle bicycle
I want to ride my bicycle bicycle bicycle
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride my bike
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride it where I like

You say bark I say bite
You say shark I say hey man
Jaws was never my scene
And I don’t like Star Wars
You say Rolls I say Royce
You say God give me a choice
You say Lord I say Christ
I don’t believe in Peter Pan
Frankenstein or Superman
All I wanna do is
Bicycle bicycle bicycle
I want to ride my bicycle bicycle bicycle
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride my bike
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride my
So BJ, you going to confess?
Mr.”Johnson”?
“Jim”?
If you’re going to accuse me of such things, I’ll afford you the opportunity to do it face to face.
I DONATED a bicycle to Heartspring yesterday.
Having handled the blog trash…
What is compelling about this story is how it illustrates how people seem only to be capable of the best when things are worst. The need was there and for a long time. It is to be hoped that people will remember other charities BEFORE they have some incident or other.
