WS Clark,

"It was a legitimate opportunity for reconciliation - apparently the conservatives have no interest in reconciliation - only in spreading more hatred of their fellow citizens and our president."
==================================================

Here you go again.

Did you already forget that you were the one who said there is no one you hated more than me?

Did you forget already that each and every time you have said something about civility here you are the one to not be civil?

Did you forget that this conservative (me) has extended the offer of cilivity here to everyone and so far CapnAmerica, BlueJay, MonkeyHawk, and JM Walker have all said or shown they have no interest in any civility.

It is not the just the conservatives or all of them for that matter. There are just as many liberals here who have no interest in any civiliy, you being one of them.
Sorry, forgot to add great post! Can't wait to see your next post!

There is undoubtedly some bad decisions many people, including banking and crediting industries, Citizens, and our government has made, that put us down a fast track for a recession.

You know what I think has turned this recession into a depression? Wait for it.

The Media, and everybody's pessemistic attitudes. I've been saying this since Thanksgiving. The fastest way out of a recession. Is for people to pep the F up. Quit blaming Obama, and the government for all your problems. Especially some of you Republicans who have been sounding like nothing, but the biggest hypocrites.

I remember, nothing but throughout, Bush's Two terms, except Republicans saying, that Democrats need to quit acting like the government is in control of your well being, and take responsibility for your own life. If your life sucks, it's because you've put yourself in that situation. True, people lose jobs, get laid off, unexpected things happen in life, that makes things a little more difficult. But ultimately, your in control of your life and your destiny. I remember Republicans and conservatives, saying that all during Bush's term.

But now, all the hypocrites have come out of the Trojan Elephant. Any countries economy is supported by people trading, selling, or purchasing goods and services. The economy is just going to get worse, if people act like the collapse of our economy is looming ahead, and quit spending money, and start saving it all. People are going to save their way into being laid off. Then how are you going to save anymore money if your laid off.

I've heard a saying several times throughout my life. Said in several forms. Your going to worry yourself Sick.

What consumes your thoughts, controls your future.

That is exactly what we're doing. We are worrying ourselves sick.

People just need to relax, and have faith in yourselves first. Then have faith in our country and government. This blame game has been going on with every president. Our economy would be much more stable, if everybody in the U.S. was much more stable, less divided, and less neurotic about stuff.

Do people secretly wish, for our country to hit a crescendo of pessimism, and hate, until our economy collapses from our own accord. The Republicans aren't to blame, the Democrats aren't to blame. It's the people pointing fingers, and making excuses who are to blame. It's the media who keeps pumping out all this sensationalist fear for ratings, who's spreading negativity and false truths who are to blame. Those false truths will become the reality, if that's what people start to believe. Because what manifests our thoughts in our country as a whole, will materialize into reality.

Nobody gets the car of their dreams, by being pessimistic, nobody marries the woman or man they want to marry because they are being pessimistic. Nobody succeeds in life at anything, by being pessimistic. This is the simple reality of it all. It's not that complicated, but everybody is making it that complicated. Nobody can see the forest, because of the trees. The media will spew out what people want to hear, if they didn't, they wouldn't make any money.

So I find it pretty sad, that the media, is so profit motivated that they placate to peoples emotions, and don't present unbiased, investigational, and factual news. I find it even more sad, that people want to hear on the news that our economy is failing. If you didn't want to believe the economy was failing, you'd shut off the news, or switch the channel. Guess what, the media would have to start reporting on other things besides our flagging economy.

It really is this simple. Nobody's life is in the hands of our government. But Governmental powers will just expand, and grow larger, if people believe that the economy, the president, and the government, is controlling the direction of their lives. Your thoughts and fears, will manifest into reality. Just as your hopes and dreams will manifest into reality.

If you fear that the government is going to turn into a big tangled socialist mess, then God help us, because, that will be the cause of it, is people's fears.

If people, hope, dream, and put faith, that our government, and economy will bounce back, into a well oiled balanced machine, and lead the world again by example, as to what a just and free society, with educated and responsible citizens should be, then that will eventually manifest itself into reality.

Whether people realize it or not, we strive to achieve what consumes our thoughts. Whether they be negative or positive. A mass shooter, dosen't just snap, his mind is consumed with thoughts of revenge, spite, violence, and hate, he fantasizes about his massacre. Eventually his dreams of revenge and fame are realized, and manifested into reality.

Just as our forefathers, dreamed up this country, it manifested itself into reality.

I'm giving a new meaning to Manifest Destiny. I'm reversing it.

Destiny Manifestation - Whether you believe your destiny is laid out for you, or whether you believe that you control your own destiny, it will Manifest itself. What millions of people collectively as a whole, will manifest itself. What millions of democrats collectively believe as a whole will manifest itself, what millions of republicans believe as a whole will manifest itself, and the two will clash together like they always have done, and things will mediate towards the middle to unwanted but needed compromise.

Like our president, I tried to extend a hand of friendship and respect.

Like our president, I was met with scorn and partisanship.

I do believe it is time to add Regular to my list of "IGNORED" along with Nataniel and biased1.

It was a legitimate opportunity for reconciliation - apparently the conservatives have no interest in reconciliation - only in spreading more hatred of their fellow citizens and our president.

"oh brother…"

I gave some thought to inviting you to my family barbecue on the Fourth Regular, to honor your service to OUR country, to give you and me a chance to deal with our animosity one on one and for you to see that I have a real family with real humans and real children and grandchildren.

I actually asked my daughter if would be okay with her to invite you (specifically) over, since our party is going to be at her house.

Now, I glad that I didn't extend the invitation.

Apparently, Regular, you only consider conservatives to be Americans - liberals don't count.

Sorry, my bad.

"No, I’m saying your dipping the same chip in the dip over and over. Get your own dip punk…"

Punk.

Hmmmmmmmmm........................ Did I call you a name, Regular?

Did I refer to you with your chosen nic?

Where did I call you a punk or another derogatory name?

So, because I disagree with you, Regular, I am a punk?

How is it that I am a punk?

It's no wonder that there is such a partisan divide in the country.

Of course, that divide is propagated by the conservatives.

Just "Roeder" all them Democrats and EVIL liberals and all will be perfect in the world, right, Regular?

Are you and your fellow Republicans and conservatives EVER going to admit to ANY responsibility for our current financial problems?

From your posts, Regular, I would think not.

"How can you defend the indefensible?"

So, what you are stating, Regular, is that from 1995 to 2007, the Republicans took their marching orders from the Democrats?

Right?

They had control of both Houses and the presidency, but they marched to the beat laid down by the Democrats?

Okay.

My bad.

I thought that being in control meant "being in control."

It's all the Democrats fault - you know, because they were the minority party and exercised their POWER over the Republicans.

G@d d@mned Democrats!

Clark, you assume too much - just pointing out that both parties are at fault.

Trying to weasel out on Frank is ludicrous, especially regarding his statements that there is nothing wrong with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. How can you defend the indefensible?

So, Regular, what you are stating is that EVERYTHING is the fault of the Democrats (the party of the majority of Americans) and the Republicans are blameless.

So, the answer is that the minority Republicans should just go all "Scott Roeder" and correct this problem?

Eh?

But, tell us how much the "blind spending Democrats" spend over and above the George W Bush proposed Federal budget.

From what you are posting, I would gather that you feel all would be perfect if the Democrats would just "disappear" and allow the Republicans to do as they please.

Okay.

Bush wanted more regulation in 2003… But Barney Frank pushed back?? And Bush, with the whole support of a Republican Congress, AND the Presidential Veto, could do nothing to stop Barney???

That’s just SO insane… but, typical of the CON Right Wing….

Carry on!!
-----------------
That's right, Barney Frank was the senior Democrat on the finance committee. in 2001-2007. He used his position and spoke several times that nothing was wrong with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae and they needed no oversight. People on both sides of the aisle believed him.

Welcome to reality 101.

Why did you cut off the blame game at 2007 Clark?

Greenspan worked for four Presidents since 1986, take your pick. (including Clinton)

Since you are in love with the year 2007 - That's the year the Congress came under Democratic Party control, you know the part of government that controls the purse strings of the government.

You don't remember all the blind spending voted on by the Democrats? I do and so do many others.

The repeal of the GLASS-STEAGALL ACTlegislation was signed into law by President Bill Clinton on November 12, 1999.

The facts are:

The bill that ultimately repealed the Act was introduced in the Senate by Phil Gramm (Republican of Texas) and in the House of Representatives by Jim Leach (Republican -Iowa) in 1999. The bills were passed by Republican majorities on party lines by a 54-44 vote in the Senate[12] and by a 343-86 vote in the House of Representatives.

The final bill resolving the differences was passed in the Senate 90-8 (one not voting) and in the House: 362-57 (15 not voting). The legislation was signed into law by President Bill Clinton on November 12, 1999. [14]

VETO-PROOF margins in both Houses.

Idiots, all.
