Include conservative political analysts among those puzzled by Sarah Palin’s abrupt and rambling announcement last week that she was resigning as governor of Alaska. The move makes sense if her aim is to make money and spend more time with her family, they argued, but not if she has higher political ambitions. “Giving up on an executive job a year and a half early isn’t the best way to persuade voters you’re ready for the more demanding rigors and scrutiny of the White House,” a Wall Street Journal editorial argued. Commentator George Will said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that Palin is now “not even a first-term governor.” And former Bush adviser Karl Rove said of Palin: “She marches to the beat of her own drum, and it’s going to be very interesting to see how she pulls this off.”

Rambling and incoherent seems to be everyone’s take on her resignation speech, must have been doing some dope with Bristol’s almost in-laws.
Sarah was a novelty, and an exception, a pretty good looking repub woman. The novelty has long since worn off.

At least you got the right kid.
You’re way better than Letterman’s writers.
Yawn…

Palin’s chances of winning the GOP nomination where not much better then her chances of being the Democratic nominee in 2012 even before the July 3rd anouncement.
She has a bright future to do what she wants outside of politics while allowing her hand picked successor the chance to receive some valuable on the job training before the next election.
I don’t think anybody but Palin knows what to make of Palin. Until July 3, I’d have thought she had a pretty good chance of cinching the GOP nomination since the primaries are usually dominated by the radical wing of the party. Maybe she really meant what she said. Maybe she’ll go for the money. Not a bad plan really.
My guess is she will be running for Senate against the Republican incumbent in 2010.
She has had success doing so in the past.
Being a sitting Governor and having to run in your own parties Senate primary and then general election isn’t exactly a conflict of interest, but it comes close.
A full year of campaigning because of the nature of it (having to beat an incumbent in a primary)would more than distract from her duties as Governor.
In the meantime she plans on writing a book right?
Best selling author. Freshman Senator.
Sounds familiar?
If she moves to S.C. or Ks. she’ll have a Senate seat cinched, but Alaskans really don’t want her anymore. She only had a 54% favorability rating, and that was before she walked out on her constituents.
Isn’t that pretty close to the same percent that voted for the Obama?
I had finally got to watch the announcement when it was replayed on Fox.
After five minutes I suddenly thought “OMG is she on Crack?”.
I had not considered her any kind of real candidate and even those I have spoke with who supported her.
Did not know for sure why. She just has the Lucy Ricardo appeal is the only thing I could think of her.
She may well get her bottom handed to her in a Senate race as well. Lisa Murkowski’s approval is in the 75% range.
Either way I don’t see handing over the reigns when you have made the decision to be a lame duck Governor (or any political office) a bad thing.
Did not know for sure why. She just has the Lucy Ricardo appeal is the only thing I could think of her.
More like Daisy Duke.
The Left should have been her biggest supporter as Governor of Alaska. Coddling her and treating her like royalty would have dupped her as well as the rest of the voting GOP into believing that she actually had a decent shot at winning the 2012 contest agains Obama.
Oh well, the best made plans….
Now, the only folks still talking up a 2012 run are Democratic strategists.
I hear her lawyer wants to file suits against those who speculate on her reasons for the Iquitarod. Maybe they wouldn’t have to speculate if she’d just told us. Instead she just got up and gave us and the people of Alaska 12 minutes of meaningless jabber and resigns. Sure makes it look like she’s either avoiding some damning issue, or more likely she’s just plain nuts.
She will run as a Secessionist and get the Wacko Right Wingnut votes.
Without that 25% of Republicans, the Republicans will lose for the next two cycles.
Go Palin go!
How does one run for national office on a platform of secession?
Ask the Secessionists among your fellow bloggers. You know, the racist bigots stocking up on guns and bullets for their “revolution”.
Ask Todd Palin the wanna be vice President’s spouse who belonged to a secessionist party.

Maybe.
But I think she knows the difference between being a secessionist and holding Federal office.
This woman was treated as no other candidate has ever been treated. She has racked by over half a million in legal fees defending herself against the almost daily attacks thrown at her by the media and political opponents. BTW not one of these attacks stuck. She has seen her family maligned and ridiculed as no other politicians family has before her.
The left is obsessed with her and wouldn’t let her go back to Alaska and govern without the daily mud slinging.
She just reminds me of a person who is tired of the political games and the constant attacks on her children. I think she could take the heat herself but seeing her family tormented was too much.
I could be wrong of course but as a mother I see why she would want to step back and take the spotlight off her family.
Now just leave her alone and find some other person to hate.
Gee granny…if she couldn’t take the heat she should have just said “no” to McCain.
But she said “yes” and then lied and withheld information.
SHE thrust her children into the limelight.
You Republicans all scream VICTIM when the going gets tough.
Republicans have become the party of whiners, crybabies, and quitters.
But she said “yes” and then lied and withheld information.

“okobserver” –
Your characterization of the Moose-Dresser doing this “to protect the kids” kinda pales in light of her using Trix, Brisbane, Cessna, Trod, and Drool (whatever their names are) as campaign props at every opportunity.
She even hauled them out to display ‘em as she announced her cut-and-run… because the mean ol’ media was paying attention to them!
Monkey thought you never used names to demean and always called other by their real names. Now I know you actually know these childrens names and if you don’t to call one of them drool when you are talking about a down syndrome child is very unnecessary.
As far as showing her children – that is her privilege as a proud mother – it is not your right as a blogger in the midwest to run her children down.
Satatom did we hear before or after the election about Bidens daughters drug use.

March 30, 2009
A decade before a friend came forward trying to sell a video that he claimed showed her snorting cocaine, Vice President Joseph Biden’s daughter was busted for pot possession.
Ashley Biden “was a hot freshman that every guy wanted to be with,” said Nat Berman, a Tulane University classmate, who said he bailed Ashley out of jail after her 1999 marijuana arrest in New Orleans, for which no conviction was recorded.
———–
How about Gores sons arrests.
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – The 24-year-old son of former Vice President Al Gore was arrested for drug possession on Wednesday after he was stopped for speeding in his hybrid Toyota Prius, a sheriff’s official said.
Al Gore III — whose father is a leading advocate of policies to fight global warming — was driving his environmentally friendly car at about 100 miles per hour on a freeway south of Los Angeles when he was pulled over by an Orange County sheriff’s deputy at about 2:15 a.m
———
Lets treat them all the same or leave them all alone. Don’t give special privilege to the left and condemn the right he11 for less offenses.
Yeah, “okobserver” –
We all remember how Biden and Gore brought their kids out as campaign props any time they saw a camera.
Oh wait…
A realistic comparison is the Gore kids in 1993.
They too were parading about pretty frequently.
I don’t recall much if any negativity about them.

“She has seen her family maligned and ridiculed as no other politicians family has before her.”
You’re blind. Or kidding.
The right was mercilessly cruel with Hillary Clinton from 1992 to date.
If this is strategy, and I don’t believe for a minute that it is, it is the DUMBEST political strategy I have ever even dreamed of. “Look at what a good job I’ve been doing! I quit! Next, I want you to make me President so I can get bored and quit that too!”
Unh uh. Oh she’s running. Away. Can’t wait to see what or who is chasing her!
She weenied out and couldnt stand the heat, so she had to get out of the kitchen.
The Clintons didnt quit or whine when the repukes called Chelsea the White House dog and claimed that she was “ugly” because Janet Reno was her father. Remember mccain making that joke?
And it’s a REALLY good thing the Clintons didnt quit after all the MILLIONS they spent defending themselves from ken starr’s White Water Witch Hunt.
Remind me, HOW many charges did starr make stick?
She’s a weak coward who, like tfart, used her kids for political gain, then whined like a little dog when they were made fair game. By her.
Wussies all.
Let Monkeyhawk have his fun.
What else is more rewarding for such high intellect than to make of disabled children?
so when sam the sham is in his second term as governator, will he quit because he’s a lame duck?
That’s the most pathetic excuse I’ve ever heard. If that was the case, Bill Graves should have quit after one term.
And since toddly and jerry are both lame ducks, will they be quitting any time soon?
I doubt it.
Weak. Very weak.
…of course, sammie could just run for ONE term so he is NOT ever a lame duck.
Glad to see the repukes have given us another standard to hold them to.
The Lame Duck duck and weave. We’ll be remembering that for ALL the lame ducks.
Like GWB was his second term.
Quackitude, as Rachel would say!
Poor Mr. West III just lost any Democrat support from this blog.
“What else is more rewarding for such high intellect than to make of disabled children?”
Calling a preteen girl the White House Dog?
Amy Carter was also accused of being ugly.
The repuke civility is only skin deep.
“Poor Mr. West III just lost any Democrat support from this blog.”
You cant lose what you never had.
And Bluejay whose kid is Hillary Clinton?
Try to keep up.
More like Daisy Duke.
More like Daisy Mae, there I fixed it for you!
And she may only really be running from the job itself.
Supposing anything else, I give her more credit than I originally did. There is a BIG difference between being the martinet mayor of a small Alaskan town and the Governor of a state. It’s not as much fun when you can’t rule by decree. And the love of 20,000 strong crowds of true believers is a hard thing to put second to the dull grind of doing your job.
Thing is though, there’s a trap for lil’ Sarah.
She’s only worth something to the faithful as long as they believe she pursues higher office Now they’ve been given reason for doubt, the crowds may be smaller and less enthusiastic.
I’M rather surprised not to see at least some signs of a sense of betrayal from some of the Palin faithful. For whatever rhyme or reason, she’s a beauty pageant contestant again. She is as ever, thinking about no one but herself. Some of her supporters must come to know that.
Much was made last week when Tuesday’s broadcast of “The Rachel Maddow Show” drew the smallest audience Maddow had seen since she joined MSNBC last summer, averaging 789,000 total viewers. According to Nielsen Media Research, Friday’s (May 15) program drew just 763,000 total viewers, setting a new series low. Friday’s program also drew Maddow’s smallest Adults 25-54 audience ever, averaging just 163,000 demo viewers. Maddow did, however, beat Larry King on Friday, who averaged just 645,000 total viewers.
Maddow’s ratings have cooled since the election frenzy of the fall, where she burst onto the cable news landscape with impressive numbers. In March, she averaged 1.133 million total viewers for her lowest month to date — in April, however, she came just shy of that with 1.042 million total viewers (setting a new monthly low).

KFG would this be the Rachel you were referring to. And we should listen to what she says because,,, it seems no one else is.
Palin has the Republicans disagreeing among themselves about her inexplicable announcement. Seems all is well and good if you can get them further polarized. Palin, like bush before her, turns out to be a great ambassador for The Democratic Party.
Doing it for her kids?
Give me a little more credit for seeing what my eyes tell me.
She trotted that little girl Piper out in front of a hockey crowd where she KNEW there would be boos and then cried herself the victim by proxy through Piper!
No those kids get between Palin and anything she wants and they are expendable.
Gov. Parkinson should resign rather than serve as a lame duck.
I thought lame duck usually applied to about the second half of your second term, not your first term. Repubs must like to accelerate things.
Alaska is having to dip into reserves for about a bil. shortfall in revenue this yr. Next yr. might be tougher. Get while the gettin’s good.
Gosh okie, did you use that fancy taxpayer paid for education to look all that up?
Okie’s battle cry?
“welfare for me but not for thee!”
You should probably not watch Rachel. I’m sure her entire show is over your head.
Do you even know what “quackitude” is?
I doubt it, since you clearly never watch the show.
Why is it that someone who’s husband had a great paying union job all those years, and who also worked her entire life (until she got fired) and who owns such a successful business had to have the TAXPAYERS finance her college education?
Welfare for me, but not for thee!
Hard to be a lame duck until the end of your term limits or you’ve announced you won’t run for reelection. In the later case, one has up to the filing deadline to let anyone know whether they will or won’t be running for reelection, so it’s in your control. Filing deadline for Governor of Alaska is almost a full year away.
Maybe palin is goin’ back to school on the taxpayer’s dime.
It’s the republican way. You betchya!
Yeah the lame duck thing is a lot of BS too.
Think about it,
You’re only a lame duck if your term is running out. If you just have no intention of running again, it is a tremendously liberating thing. You don’t have to worry about job performance or poll numbers.
Hi kfg. I marked your words for you. Where do you want them?
For you, no charge.

ROFLMAO!
The only thing funnier than Bible Spice’s hot footed exit is okie dokie’s lame rants about Linda.
Survey says?
Housegate. Reportedly the FBI and IRS have been investigating it since last August.
A little matter of illegal gifts from contractors coupled with embezzelment and unpaid loans from a protected trust.
Mark my words.
Me and most everyone else never watch her show. I watched once and it was so onesided I couldn’t last. Evidently she effects a lot of people that way.
As for Palin the GOP really doesn’t give her nearly as much thought as the left seems to. They are obsessed with her. Sorry she is going away at least for a while.
And KFG why don’t you tell us how many farm subsidies you are in line for. Hypocrite.
Maybe the topic sentence should be:
Liberal Lezzies Lust for Palin
I am so sad for little Linda that everyone knows how much help she needs. Poor dear Linda. I have decided to let her wallow in her ignorance.
Palin Popsicles!
Sarah Su ck ers!
These would sell even better then Palm Trees.
How many licks does it take to get to the juicy center?
I’ll never tell!
If I were a conservative running on a conservative platform, I would not even consider being the nominee and exposing my teenage daughter to the hot spotlight and ridicule. Family First.
But it’s ok for Liberals, eh Phantom?
How old are Obama’s daughters now?
They will be in the spotlight soon.
Well Outlander you scared the farmgirl away. I was on vacation in beautiful Colorado and just checked my email once a day. Usually only posted once a day on the blog and it was enough to get the left all upset. I’ll try to do better.
Isn’t it nice that Michelle has her Mommy live with her in the White House?
How special!
Where’s BHO’s brothers?
Billy Beer?
Phantom conservative or liberal shouldn’t even be the issue when it comes to a politicans children. It has always been the case until now. A few snide remarks and they were apologized for and not repeated. They were in bad taste.
We have named each of those repeatedly on this blog. We don’t have the space to post all that has been said about the Palin children.
Remember he who throws stones shouldn’t live in glass houses.
How did BHO afford HIS home in Chicago?
Anybody investigating that?
How many abortions did Michelle have?
Are the Obama girls on the pill yet?
Have you seen those G od Awful dresses Michelle wears?
Who paid for em all?
And those $500 tennis shoes Michelle wore to the soup kitchen!
OMG!
To: Ksfarmgirl. I want the Kansan vote. I am not only depending on any particular party for my votes. I want to work for ALL Kansans, not just a stereotypical few. Again, what did Governor Palin do that ksfarmgirl finds so messed up? I am hoping people vote for issues and vote looking at the time Senator Brownback and others wasted as ELECTED OFFICIALS. What have they actually done??? Governor Palin has accomplished many goals. Brownback has accomplished what???????? I have not been an elected official. Why bust me for lies I never gave? Why not remember the lies the current politicians are still stating? Herbert West 3rd. {D}, Candidate for Kansas Governor, 2010.

PALIN: What? You told me to make a speech like Nixon.
HANDLER: Reagan! Make a speech like REAGAN!!!
Really Statum?
Show me one racist comment.
Very similar statements were made regarding Palin in the last year. All glove are off for Palin.
Why is your precious Barrack and Michelle off limits?
You see those spock ears on Obama?
I thought Michelle took those away from him.
Hey, personal attacks are ok on Palin, can’t O’Bama baby handle it?
I receive no farm subsidies.
And since you have claimed, okie, that you know who I am, you can look that up and verify it on the Environmental Working Group website. You know, the one that lists ALL subsidy recipients by county?
Go ahead. Look all the way back to when my mother died in January, 2006. She did, but I NEVER did. I have received no farm subsidies.
Weak. Very weak.
And thank you for making my point. You have no clue about Rachel or her show, since you dont watch it.
But of course, that never stops repukes from claiming something they know nothing about.
IIRC, falafel boy’s ratings are down since the election too. ALL cable news shows are.
herbie, I dont care who’s vote you want.
Who’s vote have you gotten?
Or will get?
Crickets chirping?
Do you think if Michelle got pregnant with a downs syndrome baby that she would abort it?
Do YOU think she should keep it or not?
Outie, reading is fundamental.
“The only thing funnier than Bible Spice’s hot footed exit is okie dokie’s lame rants about Linda.
Survey says?
Housegate. Reportedly the FBI and IRS have been investigating it since last August.
A little matter of illegal gifts from contractors coupled with embezzelment and unpaid loans from a protected trust.
Mark my words.”
Do you see sarah’s name in there? No?
I also see the FBI didnt say the toddster is off the hook. Joint returns, ya know?
Who’s doing the parody of BHO on SNL?
Will they have a special weeknight show with the BHO parody?
I think tippy just enjoys talking with herself. I see no one is responding.
Color me surprised….
Say, did Lettermen trash talk BHO’s kids?
Why not?
I think okie is secretly hot for Linda. She’s obsessed with her. And Rachel. And me.
See a pattern?
I’ll respond for all us objects of okie’s fantasy.
EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
How many troops have died in Afghanistan since the surge?
Is the surge working yet, or have we already lost?
Are US troops rap ing and pillaging villages over there?
How many civilians in the war have been killed by BHO?
She isn’t the smartest crayon in the box. Pretty yes, brains, not so much.
She’s a quitter.
KFGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! Email me woman.
Looks like Ed Rollins, noted repuke strategist, agrees with me about what Bible Spice’s exit means for other repuke governors.
“I found her very insulting to other governors. We have 22 other Republican governors, 19 of whom are basically going to be out of this office after running in two years. Nine are term limited and many others have to run. And she basically said in the last year you run around and do all kinds of things, and I would predict to you every single Republican governor like most Democratic governors are at their desk trying to figure out how to get through the economic crisis. I think she insulted them. I think to a certain extent it showed a naivete and I think she basically left a big, big void in her resume.”
We’ll be watching ALL repuke “lame ducks” to see if they do the right thing and quit like sarah.
And Jed? I love it! “Iquitarod”.
ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!
When the going gets tough, sarah quits!
Hi Pmom! We miss you.
Again, too ksfarmgirl: I have not recieved any State votes, yet. I have not ran for State Office before. You sound alot like Lynn Jenkins. Again, what has any current politician done????? Hows your crickets now???? Herbert West 3rd, {D}, Candidate for Kansas Governor, 2010.
Whatever herbie. Keep campaigning. We’ll cheer.
“Ru-dy! Ru-dy! Ru-dy!”
Herb while I admire your spunk, sometimes I think you’re crazy. Matter of fact, all the time I think you’re crazy. Sorry but that’s how it seems to me.
I think Palin had an epiphany. It’s just not worth it anymore. Look at what politics has done to Hilary Clinton. lol.
Actually, Palin and her quitting present a much larger problem for the GOP.
The problem is that the GOP needs to nominate a Northerner for POTUS in 2012. They need a Northerner because (1) they’ve allowed themselves to be backed up into the South and (2) all their Southern candidates with crossover appeal have imploded (Jindal, Sanford).
Huckleberry is probably the nearest electable Southerner the GOP has, and he might do well with independents.
The problem for the GOP is that while their Southern base might vote for Tim Pawlenty or Mitt Romney, they won’t fight for any Northerner except Sarah Palin.
Palin was the only Northern candidate the GOP would pitch in and fight to the death for.
And the base’s fighting for the candidate — to be precise, a lack of fighting — explains no small part of why the US elected its first African-American president last November: the racist South sat it out.
That’s the problem Palin has just presented the GOP: the party will have to build from scratch a fight-worthy candidate if it needs a Northerner come 2012. Palin was that candidate, but she quit.
“the racist South sat it out” because John McCain refused to blow his dog whistle for ‘em. He told ‘em he didn’t need the energy if it was fueled by hatred, and so they didn’t offer it.
You all just can’t seem to accept that maybe she is that genuine that perhaps she is truly seeing the writing on the wall.
Here we are months after the election, where she should have fallen into obscurity by now and yet the libs CONTINUE to pull her out and keep up the rhetoric. WHAT are you all so scared of???
She sees the writing on the wall that she can’t keep the office because of this. She and her family have had to shell out 500,000 in legal fees for these so called allegations. ANYBODY want to guess what it cost the TAXPAYERS of Alaska for the same thing???
The State can’t just poo poo everything and leave it at that. Any accusation has to be investigated and it costs TAXPAYER money to do that. Yeah, she could probably hit uP some fund raisers to cover HER legal fees, but the same can’t be said for the TAXPAYERS.
It is probably strange to you people that someone might actually have the integrity to step aside to save TAXPAYER money, especially to you libs.
She probably thought to herself, let’s see; I was a VP nominee and didn’t win 9 months ago, that should be it, but NOPE, I’ve got them still coming after me, coming after my family, unsubstantiated accusations that cost me AND the taxpayers to fight, WHY should I continue in this way. Maybe if I get out, things will quiet down.

I’m sorry she hurt your feelings. She chose a rough field in which to excel, one in which another woman, Hillary Clinton, had been crucified for twenty years. Absolutely crucified. Still, Gov. Palin chose to enter this field.
Don’t take this wrong, but there is another word for what she did.
Quit.
Say anything you want in her favor, but the bottom line is that Sarah Palin showed us all last Friday that, when the rubber hits the road in her chosen field, she’s a quitter.
Wow! Is the left ever possessed with Sarah! I love it!
Just remember: No one had heard of a fella named Barack H. Obama two years before the election.
And President isn’t the win for republicans. They really need to concentrate on Congress. 2010 is just around the corner.

Not true. Senator Obama made a great splash with his keynote address to the Democratic Nominating Convention in the summer of 2004.
That’s a full 4 year prior to his election.
Who has done the same for the GOP, other than Sarah Palin?
Big Splash? Never heard of him.
Gosh Pedant here I am a registered republican and you a professed democrat knows more about what my party will or won’t do than I do.
Well I think my party will come out strong in 2010 to take back control where it will do some good – Congress. We will then neuter this prez until he can be removed and will work to cut the deficit and stop this out of control spending.
It won’t happen without committed citizens getting involved. It will take peoples time and money. And the battles are outside Kansas. Sending money to another republican candidate (or independent, libertarian, etc..) will be necessary. To take back the House is huge. The senate should be the focus.

Quick. Name 40 Congressional seats where the GOP can pick off a Democrat in 2010. Now name 6 Senate seats the GOP can take from the Democrats in 2010.
Good luck.
Here’s how many Congressional elections will go, presumably. The Democrats will charge the GOP with banking on the failure of the USA.
The GOP will concur.
If the US does not fail, this will not bode well for the GOP.
If anything, the Democrats will pick up a handful.
“Well I think my party will come out strong in 2010 to take back control where it will do some good – Congress………….. and will work to cut the deficit and stop this out of control spending.”
Just like you did from 2001 to 2007 when you controlled the House, Senate AND presidency?
Cutting the deficit and stopping out of control spending?
Remind me, how many balanced Federal budgets did George W Bush propose? Did he have a balanced budget, inherited from Bill Clinton, the day he took office in 2001?
Rachel Maddow’s show is still pulling in about a million viewers (down from 1.9 million viewers). Maddow is the biggest draw in her time slot MSNBC has ever had. I’m sure they’re really sad about those million viewers she brings in. Consistent with other progressive political shows Maddow’s has seen a drop in viewership. Apparently, people are really, really relieved Bush is gone and American’s chose NOT to follow with McCain.
It seems the way Maddow’s show is being portrayed on the forum illustrates the half-truths told by those “moral values”, “party of personal responsibility”, “GOP=GOD”, “truth telling”, Right-Wingers. Yet another reminder that these are people not to be trusted.
“Remind me, how many balanced Federal budgets did George W Bush propose? ”
And if that matters, I can’t wait for the Obama report.
“Wow! Is the left ever possessed with Sarah! I love it!”
Possessed? Damn, we have been PRAYING that she gets the GOP nomination in 2012.
She’ll have to be put on a suicide watch after her first Presidential debate with Barack Obama.
Ya’ think she’s a quitter now? Wait until the wolves come to the door during a presidential campaign.
What she saw last year and up until now is just child’s play compared to the real campaign.
” Did he have a balanced budget, inherited from Bill Clinton, the day he took office in 2001?”
Means nothing. The national debt went UP 1.5 trillion (count them) dollars during the Clinton presidency.
Not one dime of balanced budget surplus went to reduce the national debt.
When a manager takes over and leaves a company further in debt than the day they arrived – they are fired.
Clinton fortunately was the victim of the Constitution.

“and will work to cut the deficit and stop this out of control spending.”
“And if that matters”
America tried it with the Republicans – it didn’t work – the National Debt went from $5.4 trillion to $11 trillion on GWB’s watch.
It does matter – you had your chance – you blew it.
“Means nothing. The national debt went UP 1.5 trillion (count them) dollars during the Clinton presidency.”
How much did it go up during Bush II?
How much did it go up during Bush I?
How much did it go up during Reagan?
I’ll give you a hint, Clinton had the lowest increase in the National Debt of any president since 1980.

Temper temper. Palin quits, and A_Way threatens to take his ball and go home.
Quittin’ must be contagious for yall. I swear, the GOP is becoming the I Quit Party. Likely not to be voted into power until they find a way to become the I Quit Whining Party.
When Palin doesn’t get her way, largely amounting to making herself and her God-Like morality the center of attention she quits. She’s demonstrated she doesn’t have problem-solving skills including the ability to define the problem – i.e. she really needed to become knowledgable about issues, so she refused to participate in sessions set up by the McCain campaign that were specifically designed to bring her up to speed. She did not know that she did not know and she was unwilling to take advantage of efforts to help her be successful.
That brings up another problem, she was unwilling to participate in efforts to help her be successful. … Um, people were trying to help her and she couldn’t or wouldn’t participate in her own success.
In her own state of Alaska she QUIT, yes QUIT as the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission Chairwoman because she was more interested in making herself the center of attention for being the good, morally superior one when she filed ethics charges against Republican Party of Alaska chairman Randy Ruedrich for doing campaign business from his office. Interstingly enough she made the same ethical breach later when she was in office.
Which points to another problem, she goes around pointing her finger at others and expects no one to notice the dirty under her own nails. Or, maybe, the rules just don’t apply to her?
At some point Right-Wingers when you deny enough reality it just means you’re mentally ill. And, trust me, when it comes to Sarah Palin you all have bats in your belfries.
And this one is for my Right-Winger neighbor who hates all these fagg*t-loving, socialist, n*gger-loving Dems – although he’s REALLY happy he found a new job because his unemployment … (isn’t that a “socialist” program???) … was running out: Yeah, that Sarah IS HOT!

You’ve done that. Just reference what the Republican Party did to Max Cleland, claiming he got drunk and blew himself rather than that he was seriously injured in his wartime service to his country through no fault of his own. It wa a terrible accident. It cost him dearly. And, he continued to serve his country in political office.
You’ve forgotten the entire eight years of the Republican Bush-Rove smear machine so soon?
Celtic you and the other wingnut libs need to stop reading the supermarket tabloids and read some real news. Very little of what you just wrote has even a sampling of truth in it and still you guys post it and act like it is gospel.
I can finally see why you were so snowed by a community organizer. You are asleep at the switch and believe anything your ‘heros’ of socialism spout. You are to be pitied.

—————-
Gee Pedantic, that had the substance of cotton candy.
“If the US does not fail” At what? At anything? At everything?
I suppose it’s safe to say nothing.
I’m sure Palin’s pervious instances of quitting, like her post-secodary journey to eventually getting a “Journalism” degree after attending (i.e. quitting some and attending still othera) a variety of colleges. And quitting her chairwomanship. And quitting on ethics she used against others. And quitting on herself more than once when she refused to become educated about issues during the campaign. Quitting on herself and her state again as she’s resigned her governorship.
Quitting is a defining element of her personality, or her character. It’s a matter of public record.
You want to get into more of what defines Palin’s character. Let’s see. She has an unwed-mother daughter. She allowed the pregnant daughter’s boyfriend to “stay” (her word) in her home in the same room in the same bed – unwed as her pregnant, unwed daughter. She thinks parading her smiling, unwed-mother daughter in front of cameras with the little baby, smiling and telling teen girls to do abstinence is a GOOD idea. …. Yeah, that’ll work. She attempted to lie to the press to tell Americans she knew what it was like to live without health insurance for her family when it wasn’t true. Because having catastrophic insurance is just like not having insurance. … Yeah, that’ll work.
Bats in your belfries. And the more you defend her, the more people will know it. And the more people who know it, the fewer people will follow your nutty lead. I think, you’re actually going to be America’s saving grace. People are really not going to want to wind up like you, and do just the opposite to avoid it.
The Lord works in mysterious ways.
“Celtic you and the other wingnut libs need to stop reading the supermarket tabloids and read some real news”
Are you trying to say that the right wing DID NOT smear Max Cleland and his service to our country?
Really?
Again Celtic a whole list of ‘facts’ not found anywhere but in your mind.
I went to college over a span of 30 some years. I attended 5 different schools before completing my degree. I didn’t realize that made me a ‘quitter’. I thought it made me a good wife and mother because my family and my husbands job were reasons I ‘quit’ and went back.
What a web the libs can weave. The funny thing is they believe it. Kinda like telling me that Maddow is the top show on her network. The network with the news anchor who gets thrills up his leg when Obama speaks. The comedy station of the news world and the dead last network anyone watches. But in your mind Maddow in a ‘winner’. So I can see how you are judging Palin.
You just can’t make this stuff up.
WS I really don’t know the Cleland story so I’m not commenting on it. I believe one of your lib friends brought that up to try to deflect the conversation we are having about Palin.
You know deflect, lie, deflect, lie, change the subject. You know those tactics.
At least you haven’t brought up my son – yet!
How about this one: PERFECT Sarah was in so much denial about having an imperfect, Downs-Syndrome baby that she risked his life by flying across the country when she should have been in a delivery room.
You loonies will will be the guide for increasing numbers of Americans to save this nation by not doing it your way.
I have repeatedly said that I don’t think Sarah Palin is presidential timber. But pointing out how the left lies about her and mistreats the woman and her family is a different matter than politically defending her. Just look at the above trashing. What a bunch of low life hosers you folks are.
All which demonstrates the lie that the left is pro-woman. They are pro-liberal woman. People apparently don’t matter to them.
Which gives us further hope again that independents will soon be very tired of being associated with folks like these.
Yeah, after a protracted list of her failings you Right-Wingers will deny ever supporting Palin. But, tomorrow, you’ll be right back here with your defense of her. And, once again in the end you’ll deny ever being for her. Isn’t that sort of like all you Judases denying Jesus?
Keep posting, fellas, the more people learn how unbalanced and untrustworthy you are the better. Every character you post aids my cause.
Celtic: When did you go off the deep end? I mean when Garnett went down you had to know that they weren’t going to get out of the East. Bad? Sure, but no reason to get radical.
“threatens to take his ball and go home. ”
Not me. Not likely. Never posted that did I?
And like WSCLark said, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
Obama’s wife is a wh *o*re. She is a communist.
His daughters are spoiled brats who get to fly around the world at taxpayer expense. Reta*rds both. They will be turning tricks and getting the stink*y finger in the white house someday 8 years from now when they start who* ri*ng too.
We all know the facts. Black girls have more out-of-wedlock babies than all other races combined. More on welfare – most in jail, most convicted of crimes: and most murders are black on black. So we KNOW the Obama family MUST be bad – just like Palin’s.
And don’t get me started on mother-in-law. She is a piece of meat. I mean work.
Yeah, if Palin’s daughters are within the realm – anything goes.
I think it’s all sick. But if libs can tear apart a decent woman and her family – then all is fair. The gloves will come off.
“You know deflect, lie, deflect, lie, change the subject. You know those tactics.”
Celtic was making a point about the Republican Low Blow Organization – just as I did in response to AmWay’s post.
So where is the Deflection, lies and changing of subject?
And you originally brought your son into a conversation, not me. I didn’t even know, at that time, that you had a son.
And don’t think there are potential candidates from both parties who are watching the Palin affair – and will decide to NOT run for office.
If it means their imperfections – their real life families, friends, and minor blemishes will be exposed and made light of -
America suffers. Because many fine Americans would just plain rather not.
“Off the deep end”… Oh wait, there’s a good Sarah response for that:
When Trig was born, Palin wrote an e-mail letter to friends and relatives, describing the belated news of her pregnancy and detailing Trig’s condition;
***she wrote the e-mail not in her own name but in God’s, and signed it “Trig’s Creator, Your Heavenly Father.”***
Yeah, you Right-Wingers keep it up. The country is all over everything you’re saying *wink wink* Yours is some GREAT leadership *wink wink*
Celtic are you really delusional and think that what you posted was a list of Palins failings. You truly are a nut. Libs think if you post something often enough it becomes true.
No more time for this drivel today. Just back from a great vacation and don’t want to lose the glow with this any longer.
“Yeah, if Palin’s daughters are within the realm – anything goes.”
Bristol Palin is an adult, that Sarah Palin trotted out on the campaign trail. No one has commented on her under aged children, say like Rush Limbaugh did about Bill and Hillary’s under aged child.
Yeah Sarah Palin thinks that as Trig’s Creator she’s “Our Father in Heaven” and he calls me delusional. Nothing like having that firm grip on reality that comes with being a Right-Winger.
“If it means their imperfections – their real life families, friends, and minor blemishes will be exposed and made light of”
And the Right did NOT attack Barack and Michelle Obama during the campaign for all those reasons?
Eh?
Hell, Limbaugh is STILL going on that Barack Obama does not have a birth certificate and is not eligible to be president of the United States, despite the fact that his birth certificate has been published.
Oh wait, I forgot to include those beguiling *wink winks*
*wink wink*
If you continue to fill your head with the nutball stuff CelticKin, you’ll soon be too far gone. That you can justify the treatment of Sarah Palin and her family is scary.
Right now you are more like LakerKin.
Evidently CelticKin has a prejudice and fear of a Down’s Syndrome child.
I have a cousin, 51 years old now, who has Down’s syndrome. He held a job, worked for many years, played musical instruments, enjoyed bowling – a delightful man.
Too bad your own fears possess you and make you dwell on Sarah Palin’s child.
Or worse, PistonKin.
The way the whole Palin saga has been treated makes me think there are sosme very inadequate people who have deep, deep seated problems, on both sides of the aisle. Just look at these posts, my gawd….
Sarah’s decision to parade her “family values” around the campaign at the same time she and half of Alaska knew her unwed daughter was pregnant was her own. That she’s too dim on “personal responsibility” to understand that, just makes her a typical Right-Winger of the “can dish it out but can’t take it” variety. … You know the ones I mean.
I’ll let you know PistonKin, when you can have your nic back. But you’ll have to change that ignorant, nasty, defensive, Piston-like attitude.
No, Sarah Palin had such overwhelming issues with having a Downs Syndromew baby that SHE RISKED HIS LIFE by getting on a plane and flying across the country when she should have been in a hospital delivery room. THAT’S on Sarah Palin. And on you Right-Wingers for turning your backs on your pledge of the value of life that you would even begin to support a woman who showed such truly despicable judgment regarding the life of her child. You think she would do better for this country than she would do for her child???
CelticKin preaching on morals – rather amusing I must say.
“okobserver” bemoans “unfair” attacks against the Moose-Dresser.
Perhaps we should move on to “substantive” issues; like the size of Palin’s ass.
LOL, well the Right-Wingers are reduced to exceptionally lame name calling references to NBA teams. That’s some great material guys. I’m impressed.
You enjoy your night. Be sure you’re the first ones back here tomorrow to defend Sarah. Especially with those pithy NBA refernces. Quite impressive. *wink wink*
The difference CelticKin is those on the ‘right’ as you say, don’t talk about family values, they live and practice it the best they can.
You can judge people all you want, especially those you’ve never met and will probably never meet.
But do prattle on, I’m enjoying reading and watching you make yourself look like a schlemiel.

Risked Trigs life for a few pieces of silver.
Republicans have really GREAT family values.
Having had three children I know I could have flown across the nation twice before giving birth after the labor started. This woman had several children before this one and I’m sure she knew her body better than you. Not sure if you are a man or woman of if you have ever given birth. But you are joke regardless.
Why do you hate Palin so much?
Sleep tight PistonKin. I’ll let you know if we can find any more families you can help destroy.
Here come all the hider nics…amusing.
“That you can justify the treatment of Sarah Palin and her family is scary.”
How is the treatment of Sarah Palin and her family any different than the treatment of Barack Obama and his family during the campaign and to this day?
“those on the ‘right’ as you say, don’t talk about family values, they live and practice it the best they can.”
Like Mark Sanford and John Ensign – to name just two shining examples.
“Regular” contributes –
“…those on the ‘right’ as you say, don’t talk about family values, they live and practice it…”
…while “hiking the Appalachian Trail.
The exceptions prove the rule, don’t they boys?
“The exceptions prove the rule, don’t they boys?”
Both Ensign and Sanford demanded that Bill Clinton resign over Monicagate – neither has any intention of resigning their elected office over their long term affairs.
And Palin will collect her FULL salary…she has NO intention of returning any money to the Socialist State of Alaska.
“satatom” notes –
The Moose-Dresser “…RISKED HIS [Trig's] LIFE by getting on a plane and flying across the country when she should have been in a hospital delivery room.”
To underscore the point: she needed to have Trig born in an Alaskan delivery room. That way he’d qualify for the annual (socialist) Alaska oil payment.
Among the recurring traits Palin has displayed is a trailer-trash obsession with exploiting money and power and ego. The Sax 5th Avenue shopping sprees, the targeting her ex-brother-in-law from the governor’s mansion, the house on Lake Lucille built by the snow-machine racer “with a couple of buddies” who just happened to be in town to build a sports arena that cost three times Wasilla’s annual budget….
There’s a pattern there, CONs.
“But if libs can tear apart a decent woman and her family – then all is fair. The gloves will come off.”
You already TOOK the gloves off.
Now you are getting hit back.
A word of advice?
Duck.
Truth – Palin never set foot in Sax 5th Avenue. Look it up.
Truth – Satatom and Monkey are spreading rumors about why Palin went home to have her baby. This has never been established except on leftwing blogs.
Truth – Her brother-in-law tased his own stepson. He should have been fired no matter who he was.
Truth – The allegations posed by the left to smear Palin about how her home was built were investigated and dismissed with no finding of ‘guilty’.
Truth – The FBI made a statement today that despite the rumors on blogs they are not now nor have they ever had an investigation into Palin and her activities.
Truth – Libs have a real problem with truth don’t they?
Palin is like crack cocaine to LIBs, they are so addicted to her and just can’t get enough…Sad really.
Watching the LIBs frothing at the mouth over her is like watching a three legged turtle make circles…Sure it fun for a while, but then it becomes sad and you must put the turtle out of it’s misery.
I’m beginning to feel the same guilt I get after playing with my kitty and a feather on a string.
CONs are so rapt with their slogans and buzzwords they don’t realize how silly they look.
Sarah Palin isn’t the future any viable political movement should aspire to.
Mark Sanford isn’t the embodiment of “Family Values.”
Newtie Gingrich doesn’t embody the resurgence of the Repubic Party.
Sam Brownback wears a barbed-wire jock strap.
It’s a shame carnivals don’t have freak shows anymore. It could put a lot of CONs back to work.

Lickers.
Lickers?
Are you jealous? Or just want to watch.
Sorry tippy, no spectators allowed.
Both Ensign and Sanford demanded that Bill Clinton resign over Monicagat
————–
Wasn’t that about lying under oath?
Don’t know much about Ensign but I think Sanford should resign because he is in crazy teenage love with a woman a continent away that is not his wife. And because he is unstable. Unstable as in asking your wife if you can go visit your mistress. And he gives more ammunition to the folks who claim that Republicans are hypocrites. Some of us are.
But despite some rather public personal failures by Republican politicians, I think that I would still rather belong to a party that aspires to high values and principles of personal conduct. If you don’t have any goals, it’s a cinch you won’t hit them.
“outlander” prompts a chuckle –
The Repubic Party supposedly is “…a party that aspires to high values and principles of personal conduct.”
We Democrats, on the other hand, are realists.
For instance, outlander has set as his main goal in life to waste his days and nights posting on the WEBlog.
And he has succeeded 100 percent!
Congratulations.
You know what’s really scary?
There were two other Herb Wests . . .
Palin is so batsiht crazy that all the other batsiht crazies can’t figure her out.
You Republics did it to yourselves. The reich-wing imperialists chained themselves to rapture Fundies and now you can’t figure out why you alienate ordinary Americans . . .
Unlike “HerbertWestIII” –
I am not now, nor have I ever been, a candidate for Governor of the state of Kansas.
Just thought you’d wanna know.
Palin is a lame duck for a couple of reasons, one was that she angered the Alaskan Republicans with her attacks on the party and going after some of the powerful party members within the state. The second is strange bed fellows it was the Democrats there that were her strongest supporters within the State house.
Until her run for V.P and her partisan attacks, she came back to a state house that was united against her.
A bipartisan wall that made everything she did pointless.
Also it has been said that her supporters here in the lower states make up around only 1/3 of the GOP base.
She will be hard pressed to get the other 2/3.
Palin isn’t a “lame duck”
Palin is so dumb she doesn’t even know what a “lame duck” is!
oops…I mage a mistake…Palin is a”lame duck” by definition:
lame duck
5. a person or thing that is disabled, helpless, ineffective, or inefficient.
As a quitter she is exactly what is described above.
mage = made
