As the GOP Senate primary unfolds over the next year between Rep. Todd Tiahrt of Goddard and Rep. Jerry Moran of Hays, Tiahrt can now point to an early show of strength in crucial northeast Kansas: He won 165 votes to Moran’s 46 in the Olathe Republican Party picnic and straw poll over the weekend. According to the Kansas City Star, Tiahrt was there with a busload of supporters from the Wichita area. Moran did not attend. No surprise that Sam Brownback and Kris Kobach ran away in the polling for governor and secretary of state, respectively. The 2012 presidential nomination race came down to Sarah Palin (76 votes), Mike Huckabee (54) and Mitt Romney (52).

Sounds like a poorly attended political picnic of about 200 Republicans, stacked with a bus load of Tiahrt supporters. Under the circumstances, I would say U.S. Congressman Jerry Moran from out around Hays, did overwhelmingly well in this back pocket poll of those present. Did the hot dogs vote?
They call him ‘tater salad’. Well, it was a picnic.
Tiahrt always plays to his favor crowd, no contest there. But is attune to being a Chameleon when the need arises. A back bone of jell-o is a handy thing to have in Politics.
Brownback does have a solid back bone but his scoliosis has him bend to far to right field for a moderate taste.
I am still at a lost about Palin other then she looks better in a dress than McCain would.
Huckabee, well his being one of the most dishonest of the entire GOP crowd last time around. He would not have a future as a used car sales man or be allowed in that fraternity they having some standards.
Romney is as close as it comes to a real candidate and he is getting jell-o back bone lessons from Tiahrt

Don’t misunderestimate Willard Romney.
A lot of evidence has emerged Romney’s people were behind the release of Mark Sanford’s Argentinian adventures.
I’m not generally receptive to conspiracy theories but the Mormons tend to be pretty crafty operators. If we start getting scandals about Huckabee, I’d look to Utah for the source.
It’s not a big enough operation to garner much national media attention, but the more you learn about internecine squabbles in the Repubic Party, the more fun it is to watch.
As we get closer to the Toad Tiahrt – Jerry Moron senatorial primary in Kansas, it’s gonna get nastier and more devious.
Amd a lot of fun to watch.
Tiahrt wins among a small group where the cards are stacked in his favor? Isn’t that a surprise?
We’ll see how effective the tactic of pandering to those already convinced is. I know several brand new registered Republicans who intend to have a voice in the Tiahrt / Moran primary contest.
There is a RINO grassroots movement growing that will be a big surprise to the Tiarht lovers. There is more than one way to skin an arrogant cat.

The mask doesn’t come off if you wear it.
This is Olathe, Nazarene capital of Kansas, we are talking about. Try seeing what would happen in, say, anywhere else in JoCo, particularly Overland Park or Lenexa.
That being said, get set for an aggressive campaign in Kansas by Tiahrt (surprised the proll hasn’t posted on this one yet).
Kind of like ‘The Man behind the Iron Mask’? Let all be forewarned, operation Chaos is the path to doom.
Tiahrt’s new ad will be ‘Send me to the Senate to counter Al Franken!’
