Maybe I would.

Symptoms of acute stress reaction

The symptoms show great variation but typically they include an initial state of "daze", with some constriction of the field of consciousness and narrowing of attention, inability to comprehend stimuli, and disorientation. This state may be followed either by further withdrawal from the surrounding situation (to the extent of a dissociative stupor), or by agitation and overeactivity. Autonomic signs of panic anxiety (tachycardia, sweating, flushing) are commonly present. The symptoms usually appear within minutes of the impact of the stressful stimulus or event, and disappear within 2-3 days (often within hours). Partial or complete amnesia for the episode may be present.

DavidB,

Sure, I crashed my car into a brick wall lined ditch going 55mph. I was a bit disoriented at first as well.

If I had crashed a car off a bridge into water with a friend in the seat I wouldn't have been so shocked that I assumed they got out alive and left.

Would you?

Would you have left your wife, kids, father, mother, or friend in a car trapped under water because you assumed they got out alive?

I wonder if anyone ever becomes a little “shocky” after a traumatic car crash?
-----------------------------
Or panicky when they realize they can go to jail for drunk driving and vehicular homicide.

Maybe Palin is soooo far north that it's like you've gone 'round the world far enough that you're almost back in the south?

I remember a bus tour on the big island of Hawaii and the driver pulled over and said, "We are now in the southern most tip of the United States, y'all."

If, and admittedly it’s a big if, Palin can keep from cheating on her husband until 2012, she’ll be the repub candidate for pres. (by default).
---

Not that far fetched, lol.

Thing is, the GOP has backed itself so far and so completely into the South that they'll have to nominate a non-Southerner to win 270 electoral votes.

And the problem with that is that the GOP has backed itself so far and so completely into the South that its Southern wingnut base won't vote for a Northerner, not after McCain.

The way the party's going these days -- SNAFU -- that pretty much leaves Palin in 2012. So far, anyway.

I guess they can try to paint the Huckleberry as a moderate in the general. Of course, that will be after Huckleberry is forced to out-looney-tune Palin for the nomination in the GOP primary, and do it in as public venues as he can possibly appear in. I'm sure that will leave a mark. Or several.

I think they're scrood unless they figure out a way to grow the tent north.

God damn right I would. When the Morrison issue came up, I was one of the first to say “see ya!”

Damn right.

If you f*ck up, get out, now.

I said it then and I say it now.

So, when did Ensign resign?

Good for you!
Fact remains your party set the precedent the likes of Ensign is following.

Sure they do, with limitations

"The District Court hears a wide range of criminal, civil, housing, juvenile, mental health, and other types of cases. District Court criminal jurisdiction extends to all felonies punishable by a sentence up to five years, and many other specific felonies with greater potential penalties; all misdemeanors; and all violations of city and town ordinances and by-laws. In felonies not within District Court final jurisdiction, the District Court conducts probable cause hearings to determine if a defendant should be bound over to the Superior Court. "
