Perhaps... BUT... On the other hand, how does it look for the POTUS to back the military take-over of another nation's leadership??

Why is Obama Supporting a Leftist President in Honduras Who Wanted to Change His Constitution to Allow Him To Eliminate Term Limits on the President?

Support for Ousted Honduran President Raises Questions About 'Democratic' Leadership

Honduran President Manuel Zelaya, who is backed by U.S. nemesis Hugo Chavez, was overthrown in a military coup Sunday after the Honduran Congress and Supreme Court said he maneuvered illegally to amend the constitution -- apparently in hopes of extending his rule.

But while Zelaya wins widespread support, including from President Obama as well as Venezuela's Hugo Chavez, critics in the United States are asking why the U.S. leader doesn't take a stand against clearly illegal actions by Honduras' ousted chief executive.

"Manuel Zelaya trampled the Honduran constitution by pushing for his illegal referendum to allow him to rule indefinitely, and by firing the top military official, Gen. Romeo Vasquez Velasquez, when he refused to comply with Zelaya's unconstitutional orders," said Rep. Connie Mack, R-Fla.

Zelaya, the ousted leftist leader, ignored a ruling from the Honduran Supreme Court, warnings from the military and opposition by a sizable swath of his country's population when he maneuvered to amend his country's constitution, apparently in hopes of extending his own rule

Again You Have To Wonder: Who’s Side is Obama On? Obama is AGAINST Tariffs on Other Countries Who Choose Not To Help SOLVE GLOBAL WARMING!

Obama Warns Dems on 'Protectionist' Tax in Climate Change Bill

President Obama warns lawmakers to think twice about a provision in the cap-and-trade bill that would allow the U.S. to impose tariffs on other countries, raising questions about whether the package can pass Congress without it.

After a "Buy American" provision in the stimulus bill triggered a tit-for-tat with Canada, President Obama is warning fellow Democrats to think twice about another "protectionist" measure in the House-passed climate change bill.
The climate bill that passed the House last week on a 219-212 vote includes a provision to impose tariffs -- starting in 2020 -- on imports from countries that don't have a system for limiting global warming pollution.

The provision was pushed as a way to keep the U.S. competitive with other countries that haven't imposed rules to reduce carbon emissions and promote clean energy.

Obama told energy reporters that, while he is "very mindful" of wanting to ensure a "level playing field internationally," Congress should consider alternatives to tariffs.

"At a time when the economy worldwide is still deep in recession and we've seen a significant drop in global trade, I think we have to be very careful about sending any protectionist signals out there," Obama said, according to a transcript of the Sunday session with reporters. "I think we're going to have to do a careful analysis to determine whether the prospects of tariffs are necessary."

Dear Linda,

You are correct. Dear is an accepted part of any salutation in civil correspondence. Now if I addressed you as 'sweetie' or 'darling' then you might have a reason to get your panties in a wad. (f you were going around with a chip on your shoulder all day)

Maybe you should work on your self-esteem a little so you wouldn't let some old man on a blog get to you.

Of McCain aides evaluating the Palin choice.. "There is ultimately no way to read McCain’s selection of Palin as reflecting anything other than an appalling egotism, heedlessness, and lack of judgment in a man whose courage, tenacity, and character they have extravagantly admired—and as reflecting, too, an unsettling willingness on their own part to aid and abet him. They all know that if their candidate—a 72-year-old cancer survivor—had won the presidency, the vice-presidency would be in the hands of a woman who lacked the knowledge, the preparation, the aptitude, and the temperament for the job.

Remember that black fella who ran for president and said that earmarks were just "wrong"? (snickering)

"Two Democrats got into a verbal altercation — and according to one a physical one — on the floor of the House on Thursday night over an appropriations earmark one was seeking.

After the House floor had largely cleared following a series of votes, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) and Appropriations Chairman David Obey (D-Wis.) split apart from a heated conversation and began yelling at one another.

“You’re out of line,” Waters shot while walking down toward the well.

“You’re out of line,” Obey shot back before turning and walking away.

But then Obey stopped, turned back toward Waters, and shouted: “I’m not going to approve that earmark!”

Obey turned away, but Waters went to go huddle with members of the Congressional Black Caucus. She could be over heard telling them: “He touched me first.”

Waters was escorted by her colleagues into the cloakroom.

Waters and Obey have had an ongoing dispute about an earmark for a public school employment training center in Los Angeles that was named after Waters when she was a state representative.

Obey rejected that earmark as violating policies against so-called “monuments to me.” Waters revised her request [read:lied] to go to the school district’s whole adult employment training program, so the district could decide whether the money would go to the school named after Waters.

Thursday was the committee markup of the spending bill that would include the earmark, and Obey let it be known that the earmark would be denied. She approached him and complained."

(Isn't there a nice christian song called, "He touched Me"?)

The thought crimes bill now before the U.S. Senate is another unconstitutional left-wing federal power grab, and is furthermore entirely unnecessary. The bill violates equal protection by making some victims more important than others, elevates “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” and many vile perversions, including pedophilia, to be equivalent to civil rights categories like race, and greatly expands the federal role in criminal law. Exceptions to allow speech and preaching against sodomy may be quickly voided by leftist, activist, pro-sodomy judges who would like nothing better than to order conservative pro-marriage churches shut down, or at least their leaders jailed. There is no compelling evidence that crimes committed against sodomites and other perverts are not being handled and prosecuted adequately under already existing federal and state laws. There is evidence, however, that some bias-motivated crimes, which leftists refuse to address in this bill, are not adequately prosecuted as a deterrent. For example, the leading cause of death of pregnant women is homicide, often because of a mother’s refusal to commit an abortion. Such murders and violent assaults on mothers and their unborn children are clearly motivated by hatred of women and babies.

When adult stem cells are used in medical cures, as is happening in medical breakthroughs every year now, the approach is patient-specific, and no drug company gets rich because of the successful treatments.
That’s why taxpayer funding of useless, unethical embryonic stem cell research, never likely to cure anything, is being hyped over successful, ethical adult stem cell research – out of pure greed. The manufacture of human life for destructive testing could become very profitable for drug companies – with your tax money funneled in.
And leftist Democrats and RINOs are itching for their cut of it.

In recent PBS special “The Music Instinct: Science & Song” the effect of music on unborn children was monitored with a camera. One baby smiled in response to a lullaby, an undeniably human behavior. Others have been observed moving their hands in response to music, almost as if conducting. They have been soothed by Vivaldi and disturbed by loud tracks from Beethoven. They have even responded rhythmically to rhythms tapped on their mother's belly.
If our children are not living human beings before their birth, then what are they?

Baby-hating Connecticut Gov. Jodi Rell signed into law last week a ban on ultrasound viewing of an unborn child without a medical reason or authorization from a physician. The only negative effects on mothers or their babies, as seen by the abortion lobby, has been that most of the mothers decline to contract the mangling, dismembering, poisoning, or beheading of their children after viewing a good 3D ultrasound.

“A partially born child is among the weakest, most helpless beings in our midst and on that account exerts a special claim on our protection. The fact is that we -- civilized people -- are retreating to the haven of our Constitution to justify dismembering a partly born child and crushing its skull. Surely centuries hence, people will look back on this gruesome practice done in the name of fundamental law by a society of high achievement. And they will shudder.”
. . . Fourth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson, in his ruling upholding Virginia’s partial-birth abortion ban, and reversing last year’s appellate court ruling which struck down the ban
[We may be sure that baby-hating Obamanation, greedy for his party’s cut of abortion mill profits, will never appoint Judge Wilkinson to any position.]

"I don’t want to attack you or your world view. But I disagree with simply taking a stand as being less than civil."

I'm sure if you go back and read every word I've posted, I was addressing Nathaniel challenging other posters that he would be civil if they were. Interjecting President Obama came from someone else, I don't know or care who and don't intend to scroll back to learn. It's an opinion blog, we all have opinions -- today I've posted my opinion of being civil and haven't addressed any other topic.
