Mostly speechless on Tiller murder

The Hill newspaper noted that of the six members of the Kansas congressional delegation, only Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., posted a statement about the murder of George Tiller of his Web site. Rep. Louise Slaughter, D-N.Y., introduced the resolution condemning Tiller’s murder that passed the House Tuesday. It extended condolences to Tiller’s family and “commits to the American principle that tolerance must always be superior to intolerance, and that violence is never an appropriate response to a difference in beliefs.” All four Kansans in the House were part of the unanimous vote for the resolution, which also noted that 38 people in the United States have been killed in places of worship over the past decade.

TwistedMonkey illogically flings this ball of crap:

    “Silence implies consent.”

No it doesn’t. There are and can be numerous reasons for silence and it is nothing more than your unproven and illogical assumption that it “implies consent.”

How many days in a row now with Tiller Killer threads?

Soon, Tiller Killer threads will break the record held by the HATE BUSH threads.

Tiller Killer threads have already exceeded the number of Bash the Tiahrt Amendment threads.

So. You’re just now figuring out that the tragedy of Tiller’s murder is a tragedy for all, including for the positions of those who are anti-abortion?

    lol

I’m thinking those “do not touch when hot” stickers they place on kitchen ranges were made for folks like you.

Rep. Slaughter, where was the House Resolution condemning the hate inspired murder of a United States soldier at a recruiting station in Little Rock a couple of weeks ago by an adherent to the Islamic faith who admitted he was motivated by outrage over the actions of the U.S. military in the war on terror?

and “commits to the American principle that tolerance must always be superior to intolerance, and that violence is never an appropriate response to a difference in beliefs.”

Jim Johnson your post reminds me something I read recently.

When a newspaper has chosen to battle for the rights of government to control it’s citizens lives, it has no right to wonder why its revelance to those very citizens continues to fade.

Yup. A newspaper fighting for more Government Control should not be surprised to find its 1st Amendment rights lost.

Others have tried to force the story into the familiar narrative of liberal media bias. After all, there were other murders in America, they pointed out, and to the extent that newspapers chose to focus on this one, their liberalness could be measured most precisely.

I’m beginning to think part of the plan for Obama (who has now been compared to God) to officially take over, declare martial law, and suspend the constitution is to get the sheep all riled up thinking the “cons” and “tax protestors”, and the “prolifers” are part of a vast right wing conspiracy. The more fear the newspapers can create, the more they feed the libs Obsessive–compulsive disorder.

Hence the numerous killer tiller threads.

pedant, I am not one of those complaining about WE Blog continuing to beat the so called “tillerkiller” drum. These things run their course in due time and this too shall pass.
Actually I think continuing these threads may be a useful thing. If some of those on your side didn’t have this to occupy their time, they probably would be plotting their next act of perversion with a child, animal, inanimate object, you name it.

June 10, 2009 – Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-02) yesterday spoke on the House floor after introducing H. 2. A thread about the state of abortions now
    3. A thread about the poor women who get suctioned

Thank you for that information david. However, I think a full Congressional investigation is in order. After all, the antiwar left has been protesting at recruitment centers for years now. They have fought to have long established ROTC programs shutdown on High School and College campuses. They have called our soldiers blood thirsty baby killers and torturers. They have pointed to Abu Grab and other so called atrocities as proof that our military is evil and out of control.

It is settled law and every citizens right to serve their Country by joining the armed forces, yet those on the far left would try to deny that most basic right to our young people. I do not think it is too far fetched to conclude that the activities of the far left antiwar crowd have caused some of their less stable members to believe that killing military recruiters in the name of peace is justifiable. I think it is quite fair to say that anyone who ever protested the war or held a sign out side of a military recruitment center is just as guilty of killing Private Long as the gunman who actually pulled the trigger.

regular, I think it is one of the most reliable truisms of history that wherever the left has come to power, there is blood and plenty of it.

By the way, did you notice that I did not feel the need to end my post with a “sarcasm off” tag? I guess I just figure that most people are smart enough to figure it out on their own. You may have meant sarcasim CFMT but if the libs are right about tiller then your point is right on about the soliders. Obama and the press could care less about those soliders unless they felt it advanced their lib agenda.

There has been no outrage from the prez who was quick to respond to tiller.

Is the tiller killing a bad thing? Yes it is. Does it deserve so much press? Probably not.

“commits to the American principle that tolerance must always be superior to intolerance, and that violence is never an appropriate response to a difference in beliefs.”

I would say that it is not about intolerance in beliefs but all about superiority and violence is just a form of communication, a tool.
No matter what or how you place words in any logical sense of reason it will always have its roots in being superior over any threats that it is up against.
And we will and always because of defaults to being ape-like, we will never achieve absolutely of tolerance.
