Even though it’s been an appalling seven months since Election Day, it still may take those of a certain age some time to adjust to the idea of Al Franken — of Stuart Smalley and the “Al Franken Decade” fame — as a member of the U.S. Senate. (Check out his Mick Jagger clip on YouTube.) Today’s Minnesota Supreme Court ruling certainly seems to make the career change official, though, unless incumbent Republican Sen. Norm Coleman has more legal options up his sleeve.

If Minnesota Republican Governor Tim Pawlenty proves to be a man of his word, it is finished (finally!) since he has said he will certify the election winner based on what the state court decides.
Yeeeeessssssss!
The way he parties, I wondered too if Franken is ever able to sit down.
60 votes, a filibuster-proof majority. Now if only the Dems could get enough control of their mob to take advantage of it.
I look for Coleman to take this clear to the Supreme Court.
Whether I like it or not, time to seat Senator Franken
To borrow a line from one of my favorite movies….
“POWER! heh heh UNlimited POWER!”
Governor Ventura. . .Senator Frankin
Hard for me to figure out which one is most ludicrous.
What next? LOL
“I look for Coleman to take this clear to the Supreme Court.”
I look for it to be a long time before the Supreme Court meddles in another election. And if Governor Pawlenty certified Senator Franken he will be seated and begin serving.
Finally the Republicans are no longer to prohibit the fine people of Minnesota from their Constitutional right to representation.
Cool. Seat him. Now they haven’t even got the excuse that they can’t get anything passed because of the mean ol’ Republicans in the Senate.
The beginning of their end. Everything that goes wrong is theirs; and there will be a lot…
Dear God! Ann, them bastid communists stole the Minnesota Senate seat, Coulter must be so ticked, the hair on her back is probably poking through her chastity robe.

It is important for elections to be administered as close to the law and as devoid of bias as possible. Therefore it is incumbent upon all of us to allow for challenges from time to time on close elections.
Enough justices have looked at this election to determine who the winner should be by now. It is plausible to consent now that Franken should be seated. It is impossible to have determined this a priori before hand simply because you favored one particular candidate over the other.
However, it is important to note that if Franken had come up 225 votes short, he would have and should have challenged the results. Such practice is in the ultimate best interest of all the voters.
Coleman has conceded.
Finally.
What next? LOL

Sooner than you think.
Oh BRING that on!
You people are SO far around the bend you’re gonna meet yourself coming the other way!
I dunno, “HLP” –
After spurting out five kids (and only 20% of them defective) I’d imagine the Moose-Dresser’s ass might be getting bigger.
You might have to adjust your core political belief.
Acorn conveniently found a box of ballots in an election officials garage and they were all for Frankenstein? That is as good as the man from Kenya sealing his birth certificate and all his college records; plus his passport history; the Dims will destroy the nation
“Cynical” –
You left out how unicorns fart butterflies. At least in your fantasies.
Check back in when you regain contact with reality.
Oh, yeah. ACORN.. about that “nation-wide massive voter fraud” thing. How are all four cases coming along?
Tomorrow, Vanity Fair publishes an article about Ms. Palin from the stories related by McCain campaign staffers…

I take it that you are a subscriber?
Here’s that Vanity Fair article.
“It Came from Wasilla”

It’s an interesting article!

Maybe to an avid tabloid reader.
I found it long winded, without a point, and rather boring.
Al Franken, of course, was a shoo-in as he owed $70,000 in back income taxes in 17 states. He’ll fit right into the O’Bama crowd.
“I found it long winded, without a point, and rather boring.” ANTI
I don’t read what I find long winded, without a point and rather boring. I always find it easy to STOP reading those kinds of things.

I got through half of the article and then STOPPED.
I don’t blame ya.. the article has too many words with more than 3 syllables?
It was an okay article, the writer of the article tends to be unnecessarily verbose.
Senator Franken. Man, that sounds good. I can’t wait for Olbermann and Rachel tonight. Should be a demo feel-good fest.
You cons can go over into the corner and swear and pound your heads.
The good guys won another one.
Yea!!
Dennis
p.s. It is weird tho, the announcement was made this afternoon and even though every reputable news outlet has the story, even the BBC for heaven’s sake, the Eagle hasn’t bothered to post it all these hours later.
Hummm.
Now that libs got it all, they better not fuq it up.
It will become increasingly difficult to continue to blame George Bush over the next four years.
You all talk about Sotomayer getting it wrong, here’s what I call getting it wrong:
“Ending one of the longest Senate races ever, the Minnesota Supreme Court unanimously rejected each of Republican Norm Coleman’s five legal arguments that an earlier recount of the November 4 vote had been unfair. Coleman quickly conceded.
Give em hell, Al!
After all he’s good enough, he’s smart enough, and doggone it, enought people in Minnesota liked him!
Don’t worry your little head, Amway. We’re big boys, we can handle it.
Dennis
Amway,
“It will become increasingly difficult to continue to blame George Bush over the next four years.”
Hey, you guys managed to blame Clinton for eight years, and even passed some on to Carter, and neither one of them began to screw up the country the way Bush did! Some of his crap could keep the democrats in office for decades!
WooooHooooo!
Say hello to Senator “Rush Limbaugh is a Big, Fat Idiot.”
Hey, BilloReilly, say hello to Senator Stewart Smally.
Take your ratings and shove them, pal. This is not your show, BillO.
See Franken smack down Coulter when she says she’d like to be FDR so she could repeal “The New Deal.”

He’s good enough, he’s smart enough, and, doggone it, people like him!
(Someone had to say it!)
Franken’s intelligent, despite appearance, Coulter on the other hand is not.
Heard a friend of Franken’s say Franken was a math jock at Harvard. I wasn’t aware that he went to Harvard.
Watch Franken beome rush’s new object of hate, Rush has been floundering ever since Clinton. Think Franken will give better than he gets, however.
I was surprised to see that Franken’s wife wasn’t some young trophy wife. Rather homely looking, but looked like a nice person.
Norm will do alright representing the rich Jews and getting AIPAC money to peddle his influence in the repub party.

Sadly LOL.
“Franken’s intelligent, despite appearance, Coulter on the other hand is not.
“Heard a friend of Franken’s say Franken was a math jock at Harvard. I wasn’t aware that he went to Harvard.”
Al Franken and Ben Stein used to make appearances together where each would good naturedly try to stump the other. It would take forever before one of them came up with a question the other couldn’t answer, and these questions would have made your average Jeopardy contestent turn pale.
Al Franken could have been a substitute host for “Win Ben Stein’s Money”. He is a very, VERY bright guy.
Senator Franken.
I like the sound of that.
