Kansans may not be thinking much about the increasingly likely governorship of Sen. Sam Brownback starting in 2011, but other media observers are on it. The blog Feministing fretted: “Brownback equates reproductive rights with slavery, says rape and incest survivors shouldn’t have access to abortion, has opposed contraception access for low-income women, supported the global gag rule, and has backed a whole host of abortion restrictions. So, yeah, he’d be bad news for the women of Kansas.” And a Brownback item on the liberal American Prospect’s Tapped blog was headlined: “New Front in Abortion Wars: the Kansas Governor’s Mansion.”

Kansas unemmployment rate just hit a 26 year high.
That’s what matters to me.
Brownback understands we need a pro-gowth tax system and control of state spending.
He’s my guy.
What could be worse: Brownback for Governor and Phill Kline for Lt. Governor. How can Kansas keep giving up its Governor’s office to these do-nothing politicos?
He’s an idiot, just what Kansas needs a pro-life kook. At least we can get rid of him after 8 years.
If Brownback gets gov, I can see the signs at the Kansas border now:
“Welcome to the Dark Ages”
or:
“Welcome to Kansas…Where suicide is redundant”
Now Entering Kansas
(set your watches back 100 years)
Brownback would support huge tax cuts and cuts in services helping to propel the unemployment rate higher while wages go lower. He’ll put the welcome sign for illegal immigrants to take as many jobs as possible. It’s the conservative Republican standard method of operation.
Everyday I wonder, should I have stayed an Exploritory Candidate for Governor? I see looser’s like Brownback getting looser follower’s like Lynn Jenkin’s. She said, “Kansas has a balanced budget”, during her last campaign as State Treasurer, running against Nancy Boyda. She won based on lie’s. Kansas has a $1billion shortfall!!!!!!! She now supports a liar with more lie’s. I am still studing and looking at the trouble the current Government causes. I will probably re-file and become a Candidate for Governor, in the 2010 elections. I want to stop and expose the lie’s. Hopefully the majority of Kansan’s will agree. The apostrophe is not the universal symbol signaling the next letter is an “s.”
An ‘ is used to show the noun posseses or has possession of the of the communiction. Example, Lynn Jenkins and her lie’s with a an apostrophe shows she posses the lie or lie’s. Lies spoken or read in general when there is an absence of said, apostrophe don’t clarify whos lie it is. Kansan’s with an apostrophe also states, I hope the majority of them agree with me as a source or possession of support. Again, an apostrophe shows possession to the noun or pronoun by use. Brownback and Jenkins being named and an ‘ clarifying they hold possession of the communication and its comntents, in reference to the statement, they LIE. Herbert West 3rd. HerbertIII at http://www.twitter.com west.herb@yahoo.com
Yea, my last post has some typo’s. Again the ‘ shows possession to the noun “typo”. I, the poster, posses the typos. To use an ‘ in the third sentence would remove possession from, myself the poster. Hope to communicate farther. Herbert West 3rd, HerbertIII at http://www.twitter.com west.herb@yahoo.com

lol
Or “Welcome to (Evolution-) Free State Kansas!”
Or a split-door sign:
Above: “Welcome to Kansas: Only Two Letters Away From Perfection!”
Below: “Brother, Do you have an A and an R To Spare?”
Wow, Brownback would make a great Governor all the way around, but just watching how the thought of him in office makes the DimLibs squirm like worms on a hot sidewalk is funny enough to vote him in.
I am going out on a limb here. What is the stereotypical Republican and what is the stereotypical Democrat? I keep hearing both sides bash the other. What would a Democrat or Republican have to be lacking in to be denounced by their parties? Is President Obama functioning as a Democrat or an Elected individual? Other Democrats did not do what he is doing. Not all Republicans did what President Bush did. So, stereotypically, what is a Republican and what is a Democrat? Why do we vote for individuals instead of voting for a party, and then the party that win’s, would then choose from the gene pool, who won???? Oh yea, the ‘ on win shows possession. Just curious. “HerbertWestIII” amuses with –
“An ‘ is used to show the noun posseses or has possession of the of the communiction. Example, Lynn Jenkins and her lie’s with a an apostrophe shows she posses the lie or lie’s….”
So proudly, profoundly wrong.
Thanks for the grin.
Just as Kansas deserves the high unemployment rates after supporting Bush for YEARS…Kansas deserves the mass exodus of college graduates that will occur with looney Brownback as governor.
Bring the Brownstain on!!!!
“Example, Lynn Jenkins and her lie’s with a an apostrophe shows she posses the lie or lie’s….” [Herb]
Actually Herb, the “example” would look something like: Lynn Jenkins’ lies…
Just sayin…
What’s the matter with Kansas?
WOW. Just wow. Seriously anyone? Anyone else gonna please please run for governor?
Looks like the WE Editors are off to an early start in trying to pick the next Governor.
Biased Rhonda?
If you are ever looking for someone to offer a “blog” counter point to the garbage you post, you know, so you can offer some balance in opinion here, just let me know.
Venture forth Senator Samuel Brownback, we shall be there to support you.
No Nathaniel…I am all for looneytune Brownstain for guv.
You Republicans deserve the WORST GOVERNOR EVER after inflicting us with the WORST pRESIDENT EVER!!!!
The scary part is; this state is full of enough wacko right-wingers that he will be elected by a wide majority.
Therefore, Browncrack will truly represent the majority in Kansas: Religious fanatic, right-wing, backward and intolerant.
“Therefore, Browncrack will truly represent the majority in Kansas: Religious fanatic, right-wing, backward and intolerant.”
THAT’s why I’ll vote for our Christian saviour Brownstain!
Republicans DESERVE the WORST GOVERNATOR EVER!
Brownstain is truely a SON of GOD.
Let the righteous hear and submit to His mighty Word!
The DimLib jackals of this blog group to howl and feast on each others vomit.
Too funny to watch!
ksjeff,
That would explain why we had a moderate Republican Governor before having a liberal Democrat for Governor the past 2 Governors?
Brownback is most likely to be our next Governor. There is no one else with such name recognition running or likely to run. Women, minorities, workers and others should appreciate as much of our current climate of caring for others as exists. The Prosperous Americans will strengthen their concept of getting more than others.
On the plus side he is politically left of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
I may support Herbert West 3rd over Brownback.. ;->
The fruits of Ks. supporting WPE, are just now coming to bear on the average Kansan. We always trial the national trend.
Brownback, bring it on!

In other words, yall’ll become like West Arkansas … but without the view. And there’ll be winter still in Kansas, so you can’t throw away your shoes.
At least Arkansas has the Huckleberry to salve the disparate outcomes with a little homegrown humor. Yall’ll have Opus Dei.
Well, that’ll be fun.
ANOTHER WICHITA EAGLE ATTACK ON BROWNBACK!
And who cares what someone at a Fisting Blog thinks?
I am not voting for someone who has slacked off in his current job just so he could run for president.
The guy has missed out on a lot of very important congressional votes while campaigning.
That there tells me that he is just another political bum trying to make a career of being politician instead of actually being a service to his country.
I guess you have not voted for anyone then Wiseman?
How many votes did Obama miss?
How many times did Obama vote “present”?
McCain, the presumptive Republican candidate, cast 36 of the Senate’s 169 votes this session, while his likely Democratic challenger cast 70, a USA Today analysis showed.
Obama missed 59% of the votes in the Senate in 2008.
McCain missed 78% of the votes in the Senate in 2008.
That there tells me they both are political bums trying to make a career of being politicians instead of actually being a service to his country.

For brownback running for pres. was a lark, he never had a chance in hell, but he did enjoy the paid time off!
Three fourths of the Kansas newspapers that publish on Sundays are running stories or editorials recognizing that Brownback is likely to be our next Governor. The Eagle is not standing alone and is stating the obvious.
With the right kind of Ad attacks — aimed directly at Brownback’s horrendous ideology…. Backed up with lots of hard evidence of who the man REALLY is (e.g., Opus Dei — not oficially sanctioned by Rome), Brownback can be soundly defeated… maybe by a Democrat… or even a strong independent. Unless we want those “Welcome to the Dark Ages” signs at our borders, people better get to work… even this early…
For Nathan’s benefit, that is my OPINION…
To the extent that Brownback was part of the Republican revolution of 1994, it would be worthwhile for a newspaper reporter to comb through the public record for statements that the Senator has made on various issues. For instance, the Governor’s office certainly deals with the state’s public education system, so it will be necessary to nail down where Brownback stands on public education. Some of Gingrich’s 1994 crowd wanted to abolish the Department of Education altogether.
Royall —
Yes, that would be of great importance to any opposition to Brownback…
ALSO—-
My apologies to the Holy See and Bishop of Rome… Opus Dei is apparently recognized as a part of the Roman Catholic Church…
The following link is of major concern for all who would not agree with their positions >>>>
http://www.talk2action.org/story/2009/5/10/84720/6065
This link includes comments made by one of the Opus Dei Bishops in the USA… this one is Bishop in the Kansas City/St. Joseph.
“Brownback would support huge tax cuts and cuts in services helping to propel the unemployment rate higher while wages go lower.” [Maggotpunk]
But.. but… Maggot, cuts in services to the poor and needy would go against one of the main tenets of his beloved Opus Dei…
:-(
It is just so sad the Kansas will have to bottom out with Brownback as our Gov. But, if it means that once and for all the conservative myth of compassion and responsibility will be exposed for what it is, then I guess the bottom won’t be so bad.

hah!
so much drama…
Is there any Kansas elected official, state legislator, highly respected Kansas business man who would run for Kansas governor? Would anyone such as Swartzenegger move to Kansas?
Is Lee Marvin available to come to Kansas and straighen things out? Or John Wayne?
Gayle Sayers for Governor?
Barry Sanders for Governor?
Before Kansas residents vote for Senator Brownback for Governor of Kansas they should read ” The Consitution Restoration Act of 2004″ or House version HR 3799 or Senate version S.2082 which Brownback helped to author. Go to Publiceye.org and Teaching Tolerance and discover for yourselves what Brownback and his religious philosophy teaches – the complete overthrown of our Constitution and the construction of a theocracy. Lets not be the state who voted to place a Christian Nationalist in power in these dangerous times. Anybody but Brownsback.
What a loon…

What?
H.R. 3799, The Federal Employees Paid Parental Leave Act of 2007

Since when is sad equated with drama? Brownback would be a sad chapter in Kansas history. And if you don’t like drama then Brownback is not your guy.
He will make Phil the pill look tame in comparison.
But I forget, you are Regular and I am not.
Correction: the House and Senate Bills for 2004 are listed above. The bill was shot down and revived in 2005 under Senate Bill 520 and House Bill HR1070. In either case the Bill, co-signed and issued fast forward by Brownback can simply be obtained in any search engine under “Constitutiion Restoration Act”. Then study the meaning of Reconstructionism and Dominionism/ Sam Browback and you have a clear case for not having this man as governor of Kansas.
