“There’s something about conservatives’ ferocious ‘No’ that precisely fits the temper of the times,” Thomas Frank wrote in the Wall Street Journal. “For all the past year’s Democratic victories, the GOP still owns outrage, still has an enormous capacity to summon up offense, to elevate every perceived slight into an unprecedented imposition upon both the hardworking citizen and freedom itself. What really dazzles the observer, though, is conservatives’ fury over things for which they are themselves responsible.” For example, Frank cited how Newt Gingrich is railing about the influence of lobbyists yet helped oversee the GOP’s “K Street Strategy” that empowered lobbyists. Frank also noted how Dick Cheney praised tea parties that protested, among other things, the financial bailout program that his administration created.

Kissinger said it years ago –
“Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac.”
(The Big) Dick Cheney has it no more.
Newtie covets it again and will, as always, say anything he things might get him closer to it.
Sam (the Sham) Brownback is joined at the hip with the same people who “pal around with terrorists” like Scott Roeder because it was his fast track to “executive experience” en route to another presidential run.
But now the true nature of CONs, their gun fetishes, their NIMBY paranoia of having TERRORISTS! in regional maximum security prisons, their thinly-veiled racism at tea-bagging parties which protested the largest middle class tax cut in history….
I go back to a question I’ve posed many times in this forum: When is the last time CONs have ever been right about ANYTHING?!
I can see this one is an example of republicans crying about their own mess:
“Frank cited how Newt Gingrich is railing about the influence of lobbyists yet helped oversee the GOP’s “K Street Strategy” that empowered lobbyists.”
but not this one. This one reflects the differences between conservatives and republicans. Is was not conservatives who approved the bailout last fall. It was not conservatives who supported the 1.8 trillion Obama plan this spring. Conservatives complained about both bailouts.
“Frank also noted how Dick Cheney praised tea parties that protested, among other things, the financial bailout program that his administration created.”
Dead subject Brownlee, similar to the future of your paper.
“their gun fetishes,”
Fully 1/3 of democrats own guns.(gallup)
“Democrats may enjoy a near filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, but when it comes to voting on guns, it’s a party divided. In February, 22 Senate Democrats joined most Republicans to amend a District of Columbia voting rights bill so that it essentially forbids the city from restricting gun ownership. And when a GOP-backed amendment came up this week on credit card legislation that would allow carrying concealed loaded weapons in national parks, 27 Democrats voted for it.” (NPR news)
“their NIMBY paranoia of having TERRORISTS! in regional maximum security prisons”
Democrats in Congress overwhelming disapproved funding Obama’s plan to fund moving terrorists to US prisons. Majority of democrats. They now realize there is no difference where the terrorists are housed – and less risk leaving them in GITMO.
“their thinly-veiled racism at tea-bagging parties”
This last one is pure trash by the trashman.
Regardless Monkeyhawk needs to look in the mirror before generalizing Americans.
Oh no! Monkeyhawk is spot on. He just missed an opportunity to mention LIMPbaugh and his slew of hate monger hypocrites and their leadership positions in the ‘can’t do’ party.
Are conservatives mad at themselves?
