What?! No Tiahrt?!
Why does Todd hate The Bible?
The anti-vaccine, pro-disease crowd is responsible for many deaths, here’s another one. A homeopath killed their child through willful medical neglect for a perfectly treatable condition, eczema. The resulting death would have been extremely painful and the child cried for months in pain.
http://www.smh.com.au/national/dead-babys-parents-ignored-advice-qc-20090504-asmt.html?page=1
The homeopathic treatments consisted of magic water, otherwise known as water. The parents had tried conventional treatments which did work but they preferred using their woo.
I thought 1983 was the year of the bible. Or was that an incorrect translation so they needed 2010 for the true version of the bible?
The morning’s good news!
“Roxana Saberi, an American journalist jailed for spying in Iran, could be released within hours after her sentence was overturned….”
Gee.
And the US didn’t even have to drop a Hydrogen Bomb!
Compared to Shrub’s approach, that’s change I can believe in.
“Rep. Paul Broun [R-GA] has introduced a resolution to encourage President Obama to declare that 2010 is The Year Of The Bible. ”
That is a terrible idea! Stop trying to legislate interest in God and lift Jesus up where men can be drawn unto Him.
JESUS — It’s the Law!
I should be writing CON bumper stickers for a living.
Good mornin’ cons!
You all kinda let your old pal bawksy Boxlock20 down last night.
He brought you a rallying cry, “Cinderella story disses President Obama!”. and none of you all got the chance to rally to his cause.

PAPER: Susan Boyle turns down chance to meet Obama!
“SUSAN Boyle turned down the chance of a dream dinner date with President Barack Obama in Washington . . . to stay at home and wash her hair, we can reveal. ”
What an insightful and truly talented lady.
She can see right through all the ‘messiah hype’ and would rather do something constructive like wash her hair.
Beautiful!!!

Did you READ the article you link to there bawks?
Or, did you just see the comments and think it would be a coup for your side to post that here?
“USAN Boyle turned down the chance of a dream dinner date with President Barack Obama in Washington . . . to stay at home and wash her hair, we can reveal.
Britain’s Got Talent’s Hairy Angel confessed to being TOO NERVOUS to meet the American president – her most famous fan – at a glittering star-studded bash.
A source told us: “She was shocked and thrilled by the invite – but it was all too much too soon for her so she said No.”
“She has been told President Obama has seen clips of her on TV and loved her singing. And she is delighted.
“But instead she’ll have no doubt stayed in with her cat Pebbles, washed her hair and watched Britain’s Got Talent on telly.”
American TV networks all fell over themselves to give her a special invitation to the prestigious annual Correspondents Dinner which took place in Washington DC last night. President Obama was guest of honour and invitations are like gold dust.
Dowdy spinster Susan – who captured hearts around the world when she sang I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables – would have rubbed shoulders with the rich and famous including Hollywood A-listers at the five-star Hilton Hotel . . . and the President.
Fame
But the 48-year-old favourite to win the TV show – who lives in a council house in the tiny Scots village of Blackburn, West Lothian – turned them all down.
Susan’s invitation shows what a huge star she has become in the States. And her refusal shows that worldwide fame has certainly not changed her.
“She knows she would have been incredibly nervous if she’d gone,” said the source. “But her dream is to sing for President Obama one day.
“She loves him and thinks he is already a terrific president.”
OWWWW that’s gonna leave a mark!

The insignificance of BlowJb, ha.

Pathetic!
and 2011 the year of the Koran
and 2012 the year of the Tibet book of the Dead
and 2013 the year of Aesops fables
“Boxlock20″ offers the “objective discussion of issues” that “okobserver” craves –
“The insignificance of BlowJb, ha.
The smallest bit character, tragically even in the story of his own life.
Pathetic!”
I’m pretty glad “Boxlock20″ is on your side, granny.
Ironic.
How far Boxlock has to look up to tell me I’M small?
Boxlock everybody. He’s here all week. Tip your veal and try your waitresses.
And, on another front, from the Reality-Based Community –
The man who ran Columbia/HCA when it was over-billing Medicare and Medicaid so atrociously that it wound up paying $1.7 billion in fines, and who eventually got canned by his own board, is afraid of the Obama health care plan, and is spending money on the Swiftboaters’ ad agency to spread fear about it.
If I were a CON, I don’t think this is the ally I’d want to have out front.
Oh, and please note what I posted and BlowJb even re-posts himself just above.

That’s an exact quote, a copy and paste, just as it read.
And that’s all BlowJb’s got to crow about, it’s not like I wrote the article myself. But BlowJb is desperate for anything to make himself feel important.
What a mental midget you are BlowJb.

Fundamentalist detained and Charged
At (insert name of airport here), an individual later discovered to be a public school teacher was arrested trying to board a flight while in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a set square and a calculator. Authorities believe he is a member of the notorious al-Gebra movement. He is being charged with carrying weapons of math instruction.
Even some of the far left newspapers, which supported Obama for President are starting to question the koolaid:
Deceived by Chrysler and the Obama administration
by The editors
“No one in Northeast Ohio — or anyplace else that once thrived along with the American auto industry — is naive enough to think that the changes needed to save that industry won’t hurt workers or communities. The truth is especially grim when it comes to Chrysler, always the weakest of Detroit’s once-Big Three.
And yet the deception surrounding the fate of Chrysler’s Twinsburg stamping plant and factories in four other cities is unconscionable — a slap at Chrysler’s employees, their hometowns and the taxpayers, who have ponied up billions to keep the company alive.
As Plain Dealer Washington Bureau Chief Stephen Koff reports today in this section, just hours before Chrysler filed for bankruptcy protection on May 1, officials of the company and especially the Obama administration assured members of Congress and local officials that there were no plans for additional plant closings or job cuts. The president himself promised a plan that “will not disrupt the lives of the people who work at Chrysler or the communities that depend on it.”
That seemed definitive to those on Capitol Hill who had spent political capital to help Chrysler — and General Motors — survive. It reinforced what the members of United Auto Workers Local 122 in Twinsburg had been told during negotiations when they accepted lower wages at the plant in return for added work. It reassured Twinsburg Mayor Katherine Procop, whose city gets about 13 percent of its income tax collections from the stamping plant.
Too bad it wasn’t true.
The plan filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court envisions closing five plants, with Twinsburg to shut down by December 2010.
Chrysler officials have since had the decency to apologize for their misstatements. But the Obama administration has been downright condescending. Chrysler’s own Feb. 17 reorganization plan cited unspecified closings, White House officials claimed, so these weren’t new. Besides, what did you expect?
Well, some honesty would be nice. For one thing, Chrysler’s plan did not mention new closings, though obviously that’s always possible.
Mr. President, you talk a lot about “hard choices.”Fine. Midwesterners make them every day. But don’t feed us a line of bull, then ask us to pay the bill.”
The Obam administration knew the plan – they were pulling the strings in the negotiations THEY sponsored. Obama lied.
Why? It took the heat off his team. It kept the unions, the cities, the newspapers, and everyone else who MIGHT voice opposition (the union members in the five plants had just voted on consessions the very day – based upon Obama’s assurances the plants would not be closed.

Chávez seizures fuel Venezuela oil fears
By Benedict Mander in Caracas
Published: May 10 2009 12:41 | Last updated: May 10 2009 18:27
“Troops were mobilised over the weekend to assist Venezuela’s state-owned oil company, PDVSA, in seizing the assets of some 60 oil service companies, after a law was approved last week that paves the way for the state to take increasing control over its all-important oil industry.
“To God what is God’s, and to Caesar what is Caesar’s,” said Venezuela’s President Hugo Chávez, as he presided over the expropriation of at least a dozen rigs, more than 30 oil terminals and some 300 boats.
“Today we also say: to the people what is the people’s,” the socialist leader said to roars of approval from red-clad supporters on the shores of Lake Maracaibo, the heartland of the nation’s oil production.
This move forms part of a broader assault against the private sector, which Mr Chávez has increasingly blamed as Venezuela slides into recession. Simultaneously he is engaging in what opposition leaders say is a campaign of persecution of his political foes.”
Lets all hope this isn’t what little Barry has in store for the U.S.
He sure seems chummy with Chavez.
Interesting how Chavez claims capitalism and the private sector are the cause of his country sliding into severe recession yet it’s happening under his socialist takeover.
Think little Barry could learn?
“Interesting how Chavez claims capitalism and the private sector are the cause of his country sliding into severe recession yet it’s happening under his socialist takeover.”
You mean Chavez is still blaming Bush too?
Jesus is Watching You!
Submitted by (anonymous)
A burglar broke into a house one night. He shined his flashlight around, looking for valuables, and when he picked up a CD player to place in his sack, a strange, disembodied voice echoed from the dark saying, “Jesus is watching you.”
He nearly jumped out of his skin, clicked his flashlight out, and froze. When he heard nothing more after a bit, he shook his head, promised himself a vacation after the next big score, then clicked the light on and began searching for more valuables.
Just as he pulled the stereo out so he could disconnect the wires, clear as a bell he heard, “Jesus is watching you.”
Freaked out, he shone his light around frantically, looking for the source of the voice. Finally, in the corner of the room, his flashlight beam came to rest on a parrot.
“Did you say that?” He hissed at the parrot.
“Yep,” the parrot confessed, then squawked, “I’m just trying to warn you.”
The burglar relaxed. “Warn me, huh? Who in the world are you?”
“Moses,” replied the bird.
“Moses?” the burglar laughed. “What kind of people would name a bird Moses?”
“The kind of people that would name a Rottweiler, Jesus.”

Ultimate Big Brother ‘basics are in place’

“In what may be the first assessment of its kind, a private company that offers a range of privacy products for computers and other technology is ranking the United States No. 6 in the world for having the most aggressive procedures for monitoring residents electronically. ”
“”In an Electronic Police State, every surveillance camera recording, every e-mail you send, every Internet site you surf, every post you make, every check you write, every credit card swipe, every cell phone ping… are all criminal evidence, and they are held in searchable databases, for a long, long time,” the report said. ”
“”If some leader behaves badly, will you really stand up to oppose him or her? Would you still do it if he had all the e-mails you sent when you were depressed? Or if she has records of every porn site you’ve ever surfed? Or if he knows every phone call you’ve ever made? Or if she knows everyone you’ve ever sent money to?” the report asks. “
Moneyhawk: Conservative anti-universal care ads are being run on Fox and CNN featuring a “Canadian” doctor decrying the fact that the people in the great white north are dying in agony, waiting for care. Turns out this immigrant to Canada is the past president of a conservative group up there who wants to go a combination of public and private health insurance….and has been charged by the British Columbia government for overbilling, ie fraud. Seems his comment about the Supreme Court of Canada ruling that delays were killing people were infact a ruling re-affirming unreasonable delays were against their Charter of Rights and Freedoms, with which everyone agrees. His group had brought suit to test the single payer monopoly, but was thrown out. That doctor when interviewed by The Toronto Daily Star afterwards readily admitted that his 1/2 hour conversation with the interviewer was trucated and heavily edited by the conservative group who paid for this “testimony”. Included in his testimony, but not shown, was how bad and expensive the health care system is in the US, where 50 million people have no insurnace at all. Betcha that part never sees the light of day stateside.
“where 50 million people have no insurnace”
Let’s be honest about healthcare. Don’t make it sound worse than it is just to get a big new federal program rolling:
However, the Census Bureau report “Income, Poverty, and Health Insurance Coverage in the United States: 2005,” puts the initial number of uninsured people living in the country at 46.577 million.
A closer look at that report reveals the Census data include 9.487 million people who are “not a citizen.” Subtracting the 10 million non-Americans, the number of uninsured Americans falls to roughly 37 million.
But according to the same Census report, there are 8.3 million uninsured people who make between $50,000 and $74,999 per year and 8.74 million who make more than $75,000 a year. That’s roughly 17 million people who ought to be able to “afford” health insurance because they make substantially more than the median household income of $46,326.
Subtracting non-citizens and those who can afford their own insurance but choose not to purchase it, about 20 million people are left – less than 7 percent of the population.
“Many Americans are uninsured by choice,” wrote Dr. David Gratzer in his book “The Cure: How Capitalism Can Save American Health Care.” Gratzer cited a study of the “nonpoor uninsured” from the California Healthcare Foundation.
US Population: 305,837,197
Number truly without: 20,000,000
285,837,197 Americans have health insurance
Let’s be honest in our approach, O.K.?
Let’s solve the problem for those truly without.
If you really want to be honest in our approach, “American_Way,” look at the dollars people actually pay.
There’s FICA. There’s state and federal income tax withholding. There’s (if you’re lucky) deductions to pay for health insurance.
But since that health insurance tends to pay for-profit companies to deny coverage, 30 cents of the average dollar people pay for health coverage goes to private jets and perks for insurance company CEOs.
Hmmm.
I wonder if there might be a better way to spend those health insurance dollars…
Blue Cross and Blue Shield contracts with Medicare to process and pay all claims in Kansas and (the last time I looked) four other midwest states. Their overhead for that process? 3%.
Unlike for-profit insurance companies, BC&BS isn’t in the business of denying health care to Medicare subscribers. And yet they have a great record for catching medical fraud.
Go ask anyone who is covered by Medicare and ask them if they want it taken away.
Gather them all up for an anti-Medicare rally. (It might even fill a back booth at your local Denny’s.)
And here’s the really troubling thing to consider:
Medicare was set up to fail!
Medicare now covers only the oldest and most-likely-to-be-sickest portion of our society. Medicare was limited by CONs since the 60s and ever since to be like the auto insurance company that specializes in only drunk drivers.
Add to the risk pool the young and healthy, the ones having babies and maybe likely to get into accidents, and their kids whose only sin against society may have been picking irresponsible parents — and have them contribute less into the risk pool than they would contributing to for-profit health insurance companies — and you’re going to have less money withheld from your paycheck.
Is your ideology, your frantic claim of SOCIALISM!!!! so important you’d rather pay extra for Aetna’s and HCA’s corporate jets? Fine. Keep arguing that point.
Americans pay far too much for what they get from a pretty remarkably advanced health care system. If we spent the money we already spend for actual health care, we’d spend far less when it comes down to the bottom line of your paycheck.
Your choice.
“Americans pay far too much for what they get from a pretty remarkably advanced health care system. If we spent the money we already spend for actual health care, we’d spend far less when it comes down to the bottom line of your paycheck.”
You probably actually believe if government took over healthcare – we’d pay less? Do you not realize SOMEone has to pay? There is nothing in this world that is truly FREE. SOMEone is paying.
Further, why would you risk messing up what you admit is a “pretty remarkably advanced health care system”?
Government NEVER does anything efficiently. You going to trust your healthcare to a bunch of beaurcrats GS employees?
Sorry – if it ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it.
Is healthcare expensive? You betcha! It should be. Afterall, how much is your life, or your families life worth?
It should cost more than a set of new tires.
Obama sells out environmentalists and global warming fanatics. Hates Polor Bears because they are not willing to be part of the solution.
“WASHINGTON — The Obama administration has upheld a George W. Bush-era rule under the Endangered Species Act that prevents linking greenhouse gas emissions from facilities to degradation of the polar bear’s habitat, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said Friday.
Environmentalists had pressed the Interior Department to repeal the rule. This could have paved the way for much stricter permitting for emitting sectors such as oil refiners and power generators, forcing them to consider how their projects’ emissions might affect the climate and the polar bear’s ice-shelf habitat.
While industry applauded the decision, environmentalists said they would press forward with a legal challenge of the rule.
Although the Interior Department has said that loss of sea ice caused by global warming is jeopardizing the animal’s future, Mr. Salazar affirmed the Bush administration rule stipulating the polar bear’s designation as a threatened species couldn’t be used as an argument against greenhouse gas-emitting facilities throughout the nation.” WSJ
Obama’s health plan:
“Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them.”
““Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them.”
Exactly.
I read somewhere this weekend that Obama’s plan will include incentives AND penalties for wellness programs. In other words, if you are living a healthy lifestyle, the Obama plan will give you lower rates and treatments. However, if you are living unhealthy (fat, smoke, drink, drugs, etc…), the Obama plan is to punish you with higher rates and denial of services.
So instead of insurance companies setting your rates and increasing them, it will be big brother based not upon statistics and cost – but on social behavior [as established by the feds].
White House: Budget deficit to top $1.8 trillion
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/White-House-Budget-deficit-to-apf-15199183.html?.v=8
“WASHINGTON (AP) — With the economy performing worse than hoped, revised White House figures point to deepening budget deficits, with the government borrowing almost 50 cents for every dollar it spends this year. The deficit for the current budget year will rise by $89 billion to above $1.8 trillion — about four times the record set just last year. The unprecedented red ink flows from the deep recession, the Wall St. bailout, the cost of President Barack Obama’s economic stimulus bill, as well as a structural imbalance between what the government spends and what it takes in.”
What is this idiot doing to the future of this country. Easy answer, destroying the economic future for our children and grandchildren for generations. Destroying this country’s wealth and placing us in receivership to our creditors and devaluating the dollar so what has been responsibly saved has no value.
Way to go Dims.
What is this idiot doing to the future of this country.
(free healthcare, 60 billion for foreign healthcare, free college, etc..etc..and..etc…)
Like the song by BTO:
You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet
The dominoes have been set up and the first one tipped. In the democrats’ glee passing the expensive legislation they have wanted for years, they have set off a sequence that now can not be stopped.
The deficits and interest on loans will cripple this government. The only solution will be staggering taxes. And not just on the successful. Across the board. This at a time of staggering inflation. How many trillions will be dumped on the economy by 2010?
Those dollars in your pocket will be worthless.
“American_Way” –
Yup.
Some things government does much more efficiently than private enterprise.
Do you want to invest in a private fire department? Pay a bunch of people and pay for their training and and pay for their trucks and pumps and hoses 24/7 on the outside chance your house might catch fire? Fine. Go for it, “American_Way.”
Save that 3-cents of every tax dollar you spend and take your chances.
Oh.
And do you want to send a post card to your grandmother in rural Hollyhock, West Virginia to wish her a happy birthday? FedEx will do it for $13 dollars. The USPS will do it for a quarter. It’s your money. Spend away!
Let’s cut your taxes and remove all traffic signs and stop lights from the streets. Those are costing you tax dollars, “American_Way,” and there’s no reason in the world why Wichita couldn’t get by with traffic a la Calcutta.
The CON “Government is always more expensive” is so old it need to be sent to a nursing home. Oh, I know you probably sincerely believe it, but you’ve been wrong before.
Here’s a hint: If you don’t wait ’til the last day before your license plates need renewed, you can get in and get out of the DMV in five minutes or less. (Bristol Palin should’ve been so lucky.)
Fly Libertarian Airlines and save money on FAA flight control and radar and bone up on your recipes from the Brazilian Soccer Team Cookbook as you wait for private enterprise to come rescue your sorry ass if you crash into a mountain.
Drill your own well and drink your own water and hope your neighbor’s out-house (you’re against SOCIALIST!!!! sewers, right?) doesn’t seep into your water supply.
Wreck your motorcycle and and crawl to an Emergency Room on your own. Or lay in the ditch and contact a private enterprise ambulance (hell, you’ve got nothing else to do but bleed; start your own company) but don’t expect my tax dollars to support your choice to be against government-funded EMS.
You hate bin Laden? Pack up your guns and fly to Afghanistan and kill his ass. Why wait on an inefficient government to address the situation?
Go ahead and watch TV every night with your Glock nestled in your lap. If some wild-eyed-drug-crazed-Arabian-home-invader happens to crash into your home, go ahead an kill ‘im. Now. Who are ya gonna call to remove the body? Perhaps you could start a company.
Hey Phantom,
How’s the market today? Lovin them some Obama?

Breaking news: U.S. soldier in Iraq, kills five fellow soldiers at a stress clinic.
American_Way: I’m not saying 50 millon uninsured, the person who “spoke” for the conservative viewpoint did. However the “spokesman” was certainly wrong in his insurance “facts” which I have experienced, so it is more than likely he was wrong in taking a pot shot at us. There are so many goofy “reports” out there about just about everything, that if you don’t chase each utterance to the roots one is often mislead and after a while one gets tired of the run-around. Which does not mean I agree with you generally, by a long shot.
Markets holding up suprisingly well, considering the run up of the last two months, let’s see where it’s at by Friday.
Do you want to invest in a private fire department?
Funded by local government
FedEx will do it for $13 dollars.
$7.49 for 1 pound.
Let’s cut your taxes and remove all traffic signs and stop lights from the streets.
Funded by local government
wait for private enterprise to come rescue your sorry ass if you crash into a mountain.
Police and medics are also locally funded.
Drill your own well and drink your own water and hope your neighbor’s out-house
Regulated (mostly) by the county.
Wreck your motorcycle and and crawl to an Emergency Room on your own.
Ambulances are most often privately funded.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
These are the arguments you usually get when you speak out against an ever growing Federal government. This is the best they have to offer.

She was invited or approved by someone on the Obama staff though, and that’s what makes it so fun.

Really? Does boxlock’s source say that?

Hmmmm. . . it doesn’t say that Obama’s staff invited, or approved the invitation to her.
boxlock, post the source for your 6:48 am claim.
And post the source for your earlier (baseless) declaration.
Boxlock20: “She stiffed him, the ‘messiah’ little Barry got stiffed.”
Also boxlock, what is so “fun” about an invitation having to be turned down because rules prevented attending?
Sol, local government is still government
And, of course, local governments never get any federal money.
Sheesh.

Ask this question: “Why is there such a thing called a Wait Time Alliance in Canada?”

Supporting Canada’s family physicians
The public has spoken; is anybody listening?
Cal Gutkin, MD, CCFP(EM), FCFP, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer
Canada today is paying the price for decades of poor health human resource planning. The good news in this sad saga is that, after nearly a decade of appeals to governments of all stripes, the cries of our worn-out doctors and nurses finally might have been heard.
Of course, they were heard only when the most important voice, that of the people of Canada, joined the chorus. Multiple public polls, Statistics Canada reports, major health care commissions, and the Canada Health Council have reinforced the same message: access to care for many medical concerns is unacceptably poor; wait times for patients are often way too long; and to correct these problems more technicians, pharmacists, nurses, and doctors (especially family doctors) are needed.
In its 2005 report,1 the Wait Time Alliance recognized that access to care for patients with any medical problem begins with their seeing a family doctor. More than 80% of Canadians say they prefer access to health care through family physicians,2 and two thirds declare that their family doctors are their most important caregivers.3 Starfield’s research4 shows that access to primary care and to family physicians is vital for better patient and population health outcomes. Yet, in 2003, more than 2.5 million Canadians told Statistics Canada5 and in 2004 five million reported to our Decima survey that they did not have a family physician.[that is 12% of the population] An estimated 3000 more family doctors are required to meet Canadians’ needs.
Libs must want to wait in lines

Ask yourself this question: Why is this book in it’s 18th edition?
Waiting Your Turn: Hospital Waiting Lists in Canada, 18th Edition
Date Published: October 7, 2008
Author(s): Michael Walker
Nadeem Esmail
Maureen Hazel
Research Topic(s): Hospital Waiting Lists
The Fraser Institute’s eighteenth annual waiting list survey found that Canada-wide waiting times for surgical and other therapeutic treatments decreased in 2008.
Total waiting time between referral from a general practitioner and treatment, averaged across all 12 specialties and 10 provinces surveyed, fell from 18.3 weeks in 2007 to 17.3 weeks in 2008. This nationwide improvement [lots of laughs] in access reflects waiting-time decreases in 7 provinces, while concealing increases in waiting times in Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland & Labrador.
Among the provinces, Ontario achieved the shortest total wait in 2008, 13.3 weeks, with British Columbia (17.0 weeks), and Manitoba (17.2 weeks), next shortest. Saskatchewan exhibited the longest total wait at 28.8 weeks; the next longest waits were found in Nova Scotia (27.6 weeks) and Newfoundland & Labrador (24.4 weeks).
The fall in waiting time between 2007 and 2008 results from a decrease both in the first wait—the wait between visiting a general practitioner and attending a consultation with a specialist—and in the second wait—from the time that a specialist decides that treatment is required to treatment.

Socialized Medicine: Wait in Line Buddy!
And there is NO one to complain to:
Queuing
“Queuing is a controversial measurement, not least because there may be many explanations for the queuing, many of them medically justifiable, so that aggregate queuing figures may conflate those whose waiting poses no health or other risk with those whose health may be impaired or may suffer pain while waiting.
That being said, in a system in which health services are free at the point of consumption, queuing is the most common form of rationing scarce medical resources. And since patient satisfaction plays no part in determining incomes or other economic rewards for health care providers and administrators in the public system, patients’ time is treated as if it has no value. There are no penalties in the system for making people wait.
I would also like to point out that while we talk a lot about queuing in the Canadian health care system, and we talk as if we know how many people are waiting and how long they wait, in fact we do not know this at all. Ironically for the largest single program expenditure of governments in Canada, we know astonishingly little about what we get for our money. As my colleague David Zitner, Director of Medical Informatics at Dalhousie University in Halifax and Health Policy Fellow at my Institute, likes to say, no health care institution in Canada can tell you how many people got better, how many people got worse, and how many people’s condition was left unchanged by their contact with their institution. None of them can give you an answer. No one knows how many people died while waiting for needed surgery. No one knows how many people are queuing for any particular procedure or how many people cannot find a family doctor. Mostly we have guesswork, anecdote, and subjective measures, not objective ones (such as the Fraser Institute reports mentioned earlier). We do not even know how long someone has to wait before he or she has waited “too long,” because the health care system does not establish official standards for timely care– although presumably even Mr. Romanow would agree that someone who died while waiting for care may have waited a tad too long.
All of this is due, as I argued in a major paper I co-authored in 2002,10 to the conflict of interest at the heart of Medicare, in which the people who are the ultimate providers of health care services in Canada are also the people charged with regulating the system and quality assurance. Since no one is a competent judge of his or her own performance, and no one likes to be held accountable for his or her work, the result is that the health care system simply does not set tough standards or collect the information that would allow us to hold the system’s administrators accountable for their stewardship of our health care and the billions of dollars that they spend. The people who would collect the information are also the people whose performance would be assessed if useful information were made available. There appears to be no legal obligation on governments actually to supply the services they have promised to the population as their monopoly supplier of health insurance. This is an appalling double standard, as no responsible regulator would permit a private supplier of insurance to behave in this way, as a recent background paper for my Institute makes clear……”
Libs want to introduce common use of the word, Queuing” to all Americans
Hey Hank! It’s nice to see you again. What brings you into the doctor office today? Me? Well, I’m number 235 in the queue for getting that dang blasted gall bladder removed. They could just take the stones – but I heard the wait time for getting gall stones removed was an average of 23 weeks.
I think I’ll have em just take the whole thing.
Say, will you hold my place in line for an hour or so? I gotta go get my legal tablet full of forms that have to be completed for my surgery.
Not too bad. Only 123 pages long.
Good to see you!
Hank,
If you’re afraid, then I’m relaxed and happy.
Ya know Hank, if I wasn’t so fat, I’d been higher up on the queue, A!
The doctor told me because I didn’t live a healthy lifestyle, I have to go lower on the list for surgery.
Can I help it Canadian beer tastes so good, A!
And again…

These are the arguments you usually get when you speak out against an ever growing Federal government. This is the best they have to offer.
_________________________________________________________________
Taking money from the Federal government is a far cry from the Federal government running a program.
Y’all both swing and miss.
I thought that hank already had the government paying for his health care?
“HLP” –
Perhaps it’s President Obama living up to his approach to health care as he promised during the campaign.
Unlike me, he thinks there’s a place for profit-based health coverage (if they live up to their end) in reform.
It’s really “reaching-across-the-aisle” of him to include them in the discussion.
If President Obama were really the tyrant you CONs try to portray him to be, he’d wipe ‘em off the planet and SOCIALIZE!!!! the industry from pharmaceuticals to hospitals to first aid stations.
Sound like the man is bringing differing opinions to the table and encouraging a dialog.
HORRORS!!!!
Get your arguments together, “HLP.”

Because we don’t think about future generations, they will never forget us. – Henrik Tikkanen
“Decima Research,5 found that more than half (55 percent) of Canadians were opposed to paying higher personal income taxes–even if these funds were designated to pay for health care. An even larger majority of respondents (67 percent) also believed that they would have to rely on their own personal savings to pay for their use of health services in the future.”

====================
Tell that to O’Bama.
“Access to Doctors and Medical Technology
On this measure, Canada performs badly. In 1996, this country had 2.1 practicing physicians per 1000 population, while of the comparison group only two (Japan and the UK) had a lower ratio: Australia (2.5), France (3.0), Germany (3.4), Japan (1.8), Sweden (3.1), Switzerland (3.2), UK (1.7) and U.S. (2.6). Thus, even in countries with lower per capita spending than Canada, there is greater access to physician services.
With respect to medical technology, Canada’s performance is also unimpressive. In a study12 comparing Canadians’ access to four specific medical technologies (computed tomography [CT] scanners, radiation equipment, lithotriptors, and magnetic resonance imagers [MRI]), with access by citizens of other Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries, Canadians’ access was significantly poorer in three of the four. Despite spending a full 1.6 percent of GDP more on health care than the OECD average, Canadians were well down the league tables in access to CT scanners (21st of 28), lithotriptors (19th out of 22), and MRIs (19th out of 27). Moreover, access to several of these technologies worsened relative to access in other countries over the last decade.”
Cosmos,
Don’t worry O’Bama will destroy us before AGW gets a change too!

Fah Que.
I told you A.W., you can’t out typo the ANTI.
Medicare Is an Economic Competitive Advantage for Business
In the United States, in the ordinary course of things, as the price of health care increases, so, too, do insurance premiums since, ultimately, all insurance payments come from the pool of premiums collected from the insured. Since people usually obtain this type of insurance through their place of employment, it is often thought that the rising cost of insurance constitutes an increased cost to employers. This view is especially widespread with regard to health insurance in the United States, where it is often said that health insurance premiums make up a larger part of the cost of building a car than steel does. Canadian politicians are prone to argue that since, under Medicare, Canadian companies do not have to bear this extra cost, they have a competitive advantage in world markets. As with so many statements concerning Medicare, this, too, is wrong.13
Economic theory predicts, and empirical evidence confirms, that the full cost of the insurance premiums is passed back to workers in the form of lower take-home pay. Canadian workers pay the costs of Medicare through income taxes; U.S. workers pay the cost of their health coverage through the pass-back of premiums. Even the part nominally paid by the employer actually comes out of the pool of funds available for paying labor, and therefore comes out of the workers’ pockets, in that case before it even reaches them.
Fah Que was in reference to ‘Queuing’.
Canadian Medicare Is Fairer Because No One Gets Better Care Than Anyone Else [dumbing down]
If you are on worker’s compensation; are in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police or the military; if your company has its own salaried physicians; if you use a private hospital like Shouldice (which specializes in hernia surgery) in Toronto or one of the country’s private abortion clinics; if you are a member of the medical professions or know someone who is; or are just articulate and determined or famous and connected; if you travel to the U.S. or any one of a number of other places, you can get better, faster, or more satisfactory care than someone who just lets the wheels of Medicare grind on.
“Multiple tiers” is a slippery concept. For some, if some people can get a service by paying for it, while others who cannot pay do not get access, that constitutes multiple tiers. On the other hand, there are people who oppose tiers because of an ideology of egalitarianism. Thus, two people with similar conditions may both get treated, one more quickly through private payment, the other more slowly (but within appropriate norms for their condition) by Medicare.
We are not talking about people being denied care based on ability to pay, because anyone willing to wait will eventually get care (although we possess no figures on how many die while queuing for public health care). The complaint is rather that someone got care more quickly. That is a very different objection: No one should be able to get faster treatment than in the public system, even where such faster access does not affect the quality or timeliness of the care obtained by people who continue to use the public system.
This peculiar brand of egalitarianism suggests that people should not be denied service because of their own inability to pay, but should be denied access because of their neighbor’s inability or unwillingness to pay (through taxes) for the care an individual decides he or she needs.
Canada is almost alone in the Western world in outlawing people paying privately for services that are also publicly insured. One consequence of this is that there are many services, such as drugs or home care, that we cannot afford to cover publicly, whereas they are often publicly insured elsewhere.
(Canada now allows some private insurance. But why is that? A?)
Single-payer, Canadian-style Keeps Costs Under Control
A mythology has grown up about the superiority of our system to control costs. Indeed, Mr. Romanow in his report repeats the argument that, until the introduction of Canadian Medicare, our health care costs tracked those of the U.S. After the introduction of Medicare, however, our growth in costs, and especially physician costs, dropped significantly after the predictable short-term rise. In a paper on the health care numbers for my Institute by health care economist Brian Ferguson, we examined these numbers more carefully, and a wholly different picture emerged for us.
We see the spike in expenditure associated with the introduction of Medicare, and the drop off in expenditure growth as the adjustment to universal coverage works itself through. But by the late 1970s, the two countries’ expenditure growth series are back in sync. In fact, they are more closely aligned in that period than they are in any previous period. They diverge again only in the mid- to late-1980s, when, arguably, Canadian governments became really serious about controlling spending.
While we can identify transitional effects surrounding the introduction of Medicare, it is not possible to identify a lasting effect of the introduction of Medicare on expenditure on physician services. Basically, the introduction of Medicare had no effect on the rate of growth of expenditure, and the reason the Canadian GDP share figure fell below the U.S. figure was not because of differences in the rate of growth of expenditure but rather because Canada happened to have the good fortune to bring Medicare in during a period in which the Canadian economy outdid the U.S. economy in terms of real growth.
Had our economic growth been as weak as U.S. growth was through the 1970s and 1980s, and had our health spending nonetheless remained unchanged, for two decades our share of GDP devoted to health care would have been higher than the actual U.S. GDP share. Canada, in other words, would have had the most expensive health care system in the world, a situation that would have changed only in the 1990s.
Be careful what you libs ask for A!

Elderly Hardest Hit
Daschle says health-care reform “will not be pain free.” Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them. That means the elderly will bear the brunt.
Medicare now pays for treatments deemed safe and effective. The stimulus bill would change that and apply a cost- effectiveness standard set by the Federal Council (464).
The Federal Council is modeled after a U.K. board discussed in Daschle’s book. This board approves or rejects treatments using a formula that divides the cost of the treatment by the number of years the patient is likely to benefit. Treatments for younger patients are more often approved than treatments for diseases that affect the elderly, such as osteoporosis.
Let’s repeat that: “Treatments for younger patients are more often approved than treatments for diseases that affect the elderly.”
In 2006, a U.K. health board decreed that elderly patients with macular degeneration had to wait until they went blind in one eye before they could get a costly new drug to save the other eye. It took almost three years of public protests before the board reversed its decision.
“On this measure, Canada performs badly. In 1996, this country had 2.1 practicing physicians per 1000 population…”
Gee, AmWay, with that low of a number, spread across miles and miles of nothinness, no wonder Canada would have waiting lists… I mean, have you seen where some of those long wait times are located?? They most likely need to air flight in surgeons for surgeries in places like Labrador and Newfoundland… Maybe they should spend some $$$ on educating more doctors and health care professionals…
If I was 15 years younger, I might even be interested in returning to school, to become an M.D., or D.O. and go practice in low population centers where nobody else will go…
Oh, BTW, AmWay, you got any newer figures than 13 year old data??
Makes perfect sense, if a treatment will yield 40 yrs. of longetivity, as opposed to a patient that will experience another 5 yrs., who should get the treatment? I know, you’ll say the one with the money.

I think we use the same criteria in awarding organs to dying patients.

Aren’t you a heartless bast@rd.
That’s what we have China for.

They recently cut up the credit card.
That’s what we have China for.
So, XXX, can you write any Chinese? I’d like you to dictate a letter. I need to start smacking up to them, so I can git my bypass surgery I’m sure to need sometime in my happy golden years.
Also would help out on the staggering cost of S.S.
Eskimos used to send their elderly infirm out on an ice floe.
What’s more heartless denying treatment to a 10 yr. old at the beginning of their life, or denying treatment to an 85 yr. old at the end of their life?
” think we use the same criteria in awarding organs to dying patients.”
Yeah but Phantom we don’t use that for heart bypass surgery, cancer treatments, dialysis, or a dozen other life saving treatments.
Maybe we measure risk ourselves, when “electing” whether to endure radiation treatements – but I don’t think our insurance companies make the decisions.
But you would let Obama? What about when the next republican (or whatever opposition party) takes over government? Do you suppose we could deny treatment to democrats?
Phantom sings, Don’t Fear the Reaper!
Phantom,
Jed might disagree with you.
Do you suppose we could deny treatment to democrats?
No schit there brother. What an amazing political tool.
denying treatment to a 10 yr. old at the beginning of their life, or denying treatment to an 85 yr. old at the end of their life?
Under the current system, it isn’t either/or. Only under Obama’s plan does the government decide who lives and who dies.
And you are all for that. Color me shocked. You people truly are cradle to grave.
“Also would help out on the staggering cost of S.S.”
LoL, they already have a plan for that too: Raise retirement age to 70.
They did when many of us were younger and didn’t care (from 65 to 67).
Their excuse will be that people are living longer. That is true, if you look at the actuarial life expectancy.
http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/STATS/table4c6.html
But these are just averages, and you can look at statistics/averages from any number of sources:
(moderated)
It means: Baby boomers will work longer, pay in more, and receive less benefit from SS.
Personally, I’d hate to see some blue collar workers up on a ladder painting houses for instance, when they are 69 years old. Take XXX for example…..
It also ignores the fact that our government is moving backward – as society improves, we should be allowing people to retire EARLIER, not later. Just as some are proposing medicare be opened up at an earlier age. This is not social “progress”.
Why does Phantom want Jed to die on an ice flow?
I don’t think Jed is even an Eskimo.
Boy we’re in a whiney fever pitch today. You cons are going to scare yourselves to death!
Not to worry. You can all move to Texas, a whole nother country soon.
“or denying treatment to an 85 yr. old at the end of their life?”
I have a little old lady, sweetheart of a lady, down the road from me who had both knees replaced after age 80.
She is now a ripe 88 and still kicking.
Would Obama have allowed her surgeries?
“You cons are going to scare yourselves to death!”
Well, we sure as hel l won’t qualify for medical treatement for that under Obama!!!
Would Obama have allowed her surgeries?
Sounds like if Phantom had his way, she would have been taken behind the barn and shot. At 77.
“Why does Phantom want Jed to die on an ice flow?”
Obama wants the polar bears to die on that ice flow.

“Phantom had his way, she would have been taken behind the barn and shot. At 77″
How’d he gonna do that? Obama’s taking away law abiding folks guns? You suppose Obama will hire criminals to shoot old people?
He will have a well armed enforcement team. He’ll bill the family for the ammo used.
MH your number for BC/BS are BS. Where did you get those figures?
Overhead in any organization is at least 19%. From that overhead your pay the salaries of your officiers as well as pay for the building you are housed in. Pay for utilities of the building you are housed in. Pay taxes on the profits of the company. Give to charitable organizations that think your organization is made of money. Buy advertising to promote your company so it can stay healthy and pay for all of the above mentioned things.
That is a very simplistic explanation for a very simplistic person who makes up numbers to fit his own personally held beliefs. Still waiting for you to debate a suject in a manner that would encourage others to debate with you.
AmWay gave a great explanation of the current state of the uninsured in our country. We have a very workable system that works well for over 90% of our population. You give us numbers you jerked out of thin air to explain why we should dump this successful plan to let government take over. They have such a great track record when it comes to running successful programs.
BTW BC/BS is no longer the administrator for medicare in Kansas. You really need to update your ‘facts’ before posting.
And lastly what makes you think that medical care would be cheaper when we have socialized medicine? We pay to the insurance companies or to the government in the form of taxes. Either way WE pay.
“We pay to the insurance companies or to the government in the form of taxes. Either way WE pay.”

This is a quote from Daschle
Daschle says health-care reform “will not be pain free.” Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them. That means the elderly will bear the brunt.
Medicare now pays for treatments deemed safe and effective. The stimulus bill would change that and apply a cost- effectiveness standard set by the Federal Council (464).
An interesting email I received today….go Oklahoma.
We passed a state law, 37 to 9, had a few liberals in the mix, an amendment to place the Ten Commandments on the front entrance to the state capitol. The feds in D.C., along with the ACLU, said it would be a mistake. Hey this is a conservative state, based on Christian values…! Guess what……….We did it anyway.
We recently passed a law in the state to incarcerate all illegal immigrants, and ship them back to where they came from unless they want to get a green card and become an American citizen. They all scattered. Hope we didn’t send any of them to your state. This was against the advice of the Federal Government, and the ACLU, they said it would be a mistake.
Guess what……….we did it anyway.
We passed a law to include DNA samples from any and all illegals to the Oklahoma database for criminal investigative purposes. Pelosi said it was unconstitutional.
Guess what……..We did it anyway.
A short while back we passed a law declaring Oklahoma as a Sovereign state, not under the Federal Government directives. That, for your information, makes Oklahoma and Texas the only states to do so. Guess what………More states are likely to follow. Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, both Carolina’s, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, West Virginia, just to name a few. Should Mississippi act, so will Florida. Save your confederate money, it appears the South is about to rise up once again.
The federal Government has made bold steps to take away our guns. Oklahoma, passed a law confirming people in this state have the right to bear arms and transport them in their vehicles. I’m sure that was a set back for the Kennedys and Ms Pelosi.
Guess what……….We did it anyway.
By the way, Obama does not like any of this.
Guess what….who cares..we’re doing it anyway.
“SolDevVB” comes up with –
“Daschle says health-care reform “will not be pain free.” Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them. That means the elderly will bear the brunt.
Medicare now pays for treatments deemed safe and effective. The stimulus bill would change that and apply a cost- effectiveness standard set by the Federal Council (464).”
OMG!!!
Spending money prudently is now a LIBERAL sin?!
There’s a lady who lives on my block who’s 97 years old. I guess the CONservative version of health care reform is paying for her Octo-Mom fertility drugs.
Pleas, CONs.
Try harder.
Ummm, Sol???
The scenario I posted to above IS an example of triage… Why would I want to google it?? Depending on who you are, and what your ailment might be, Triage can FEEL like being denied care… Once in a while, needy people even die in waiting rooms… waiting to be next in line…
Guess it depends on your POV… eh?
Doesnt really matter much… you will just keep on posting your sick diaribes and fear baiting, that nobody really reads, unless they are as SCARED as you!! LOL
When it comes to the issue of health care, looks like you are down 3 – 0 in a best of seven playoff… Change needs to happen… Change WILL happen… I guarantee it!! And even YOU will be better off for it!!
I guess the CONservative version of health care reform is paying for her Octo-Mom fertility drugs.
WTF?
And under Obama’s plan, she couldn’t get seen for a cold. Just let her die. The elderly need to learn how to “deal”. Just ask Daschle.
You and yours support this. Figures. Going to suck when you get old and broken. But keep praising Obama when your hip cracks. “Deal” with the pain.
Monkeyhawk, you actually ignored what Sol posted and added your own spin.
Try harder.
I have posted a number of links from Canadian sources on socialized healthcare in their country.
There are many problems.
And you all casually say – Go for it!
Why bother trying to carry on a discussion with people like that?
“Try going to an ER, with something wrong with you… And into that same ER comes a 10 yr old child with a broken arm, or asthma attack, and see which one of you gets seen first… even if you WERE there first!!”
Chas you failed to say what is wrong with you. An asthma attack could be fatal. Is your ailment potentially fatal. Lots of things left out. What was your point here exactly?

MH show me where I ever whine about what I have or don’t have. I have the life I built for myself and didn’t need the gov to do that for me.
As for Obama’s influence on my life – I hope that the majority of the nation wakes up before he damages the country beyond repair. This healthcare proposal he has could be a real leap in that direction. Fortunately dems are heeding the calls of their constituents and demanding more accountability from this prez before they will authorize any more spending.
Still waiting for anything from you that resembles a debate.
Oh ignorant one;
Triage can FEEL like being denied care
Do you understand feeling like you are denied and actually being denied?
Guess it depends on your POV… eh?
Uhm, no. Being denied care because of your age has nothing to do with POV and everything to do with being heartless.
you will just keep on posting your sick diaribes and fear baiting
Ignorant one, they were Daschle’s words.

That figures… Oklahoma always seemed pretty Anti-American to me anyway… So, now, they just slap the US Constitution in the face, and dare the Feds to come and get em…
Box, did you read about that nut case who sent out emails, and posted on Blogs how he would be on the steps of the capitol building in OKC, and would willingly kill any cops who came for him??
He got arrested… My suspicion is that no charges will be filed… he will be declared mentally ill, and never serve any prison time…
I wont even ssay which of the WE Blog posters this sounded like… LOL
AmWay MH is challenged. Only the left side of his brain works and unfortunately that is the rational side which would allow him to see there are two sides to every argument.
Box as I have said in the past my upbringing in such a forward thinking state has formed what I am today. It takes truly wise people to see what Obama is doing to our country and also brave ones to pull the rug out from under him.

The younger ones with hurts get seen before older folks… Unless the older persons arrive in very dire situations… Also, been there, and done that several times when my Dad was still living…
DOW losing 112 points at right now. What has happened to the Obama rally?
Places to go… people to see… y’all have a good day!! I’m not in the mood to get into a bashing day at the blog!!

Well Chas that is how the rest of us feel also. So why did you start all that garbage before slinking off when you couldn’t handle the feedback.
I sure get a kick out of the simpletons who think any up or down in the stock market is caused by Obama.
I sure hope people like that do not actually have money in the markets. (Well, on second thought it is good to have people that will buy when prices are high and sell when prices are low.)

Ah no, Oklahoma is being very ‘American’, remember states rights.
The Feds are the ones being Anti-American and seizing power never granted them in the Constitution.
Get a copy and read it, don’t be so uninformed.
Brian so it is right for the left to hang this plum around Bush’s neck but wrong to hang it around Obama’s.
Sorry I am missing the difference. BTW I got out of the market two years ago this month. Didn’t make a lot on my CDs and bonds but my principle is still intact.
How about you?
This isn’t good:
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin police can attach GPS to cars to secretly track anybody’s movements without obtaining search warrants, an appeals court ruled Thursday.
However, the District 4 Court of Appeals said it was “more than a little troubled” by that conclusion and asked Wisconsin lawmakers to regulate GPS use to protect against abuse by police and private individuals.
As the law currently stands, the court said police can mount GPS on cars to track people without violating their constitutional rights — even if the drivers aren’t suspects.
Officers do not need to get warrants beforehand because GPS tracking does not involve a search or a seizure, Judge Paul Lundsten wrote for the unanimous three-judge panel based in Madison.

Right okobserver,
This guy’s a HOOT!!!
Feherty, one of the most popular golf analysts for his sharp wit and self-deprecating humor, was among five Dallas residents who wrote for “D Magazine” on former President George W. Bush moving to Dallas.
“From my own experience visiting the troops in the Middle East, I can tell you this though,” Feherty wrote toward the end of his column.
“Despite how the conflict has been portrayed by our glorious media, if you gave any U.S. soldier a gun with two bullets in it, and he found himself in an elevator with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Osama bin Laden, there’s a good chance that Nancy Pelosi would get shot twice, and Harry Reid and bin Laden would be strangled to death.”
“Feherty, a former Ryder Cup player who grew up in Northern Ireland, has gone to Iraq over Thanksgiving the past two years to visit with U.S. troops, and he created a foundation to help wounded soldiers.”
Honest and funny guy, I’m sure telling the absolute truth about our soiders in Iraq and Afghanistan as well.

Senator Al Franken did several times, that I know.

Ah, and so much more lad. So much more. The greatest, most rewarding, most frustrating game ever invented.
It is the hardest game in the world to play well. To do so, you must be strong and coordinated and spend countless hours developing your game. But that is not enough. You have to be able to think your way around the course. And to control your emotions, positive or negative. The difference between winning and losing is razor thin.
David Feherty is usually an absolute hoot. The Pelosi line was a bit clumsy, though I’m sure his intentions were only the finest.

American_Way: The specifics you refer toas pertaining to the univesal care of insurance shoud be double checked. First start with the Frasier Institue a right wing group who up until 2006 said the information compiled by them proved that smoking harming your health was junk science. They also refer only to therapudic treament for wait times not clincal. Think boob jobs or knee/hip joint procedures. They have a tendency to use surgery as a last resort, relying as many other places do on therapy first. Dom Delouise who died last week noted that when he went to get a knee surgery done at Duke they wouldn’t touch him until he lost a helluva lot of weight, therein causing a delay of months. Canada has about 3 person per sq.km, we have about 40, don’t you think maybe the ratio you discuss may have something to do with that? Also they have walk-in clinics we don’t have, that compliments a famiy physican, so the family physican shortage is skewed as well. As to high tech or need for the surgeries done here, go to http://www.naturalnews.com/012291.HTML. American medical practices and attendent “tests” are suspicious eleswhere in the world. Anyway your sources are presented to prove your point but I will never accuse you of being in persuit of the facts.

Uh-Oh. Former ACORN workers conscience are starting to bother them. Soo much corruption, so little time.
ACORN 8’s purpose is simple: reforming the community activist group known as ACORN. We’re not here to participate in rhetoric or mudslinging. Our one and only goal is to stop the systematic fraud and corruption going on inside the leadership of ACORN.
First and foremost, we will use this website to post evidence of ACORN fraud and corruption. We’re going to provide you with an entire library of documents, pictures, videos, and links to outside sources to back up our claims.
We’ve heard from those involved with ACORN that dissension, or even disagreement, seems to be equal to treason, even in the face of obvious problems. We believe that every voice should be heard, and on this site they will be heard. We invite everyone to engage with us so we might get past the name-calling and mudslinging and discuss how we can save this great organization.
Marcel Reid
Chair, ACORN 8
Executive Board Member, Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now
http://www.acorn8.org/
“Anyone who questioned what was going on was viewed as the enemy,” Ms. MonCrief told me. “Just like the mob, no one leaves Acorn happily.” She believes the organization does some good but hopes its current leadership is replaced. She may not be alone.
Last August two of Acorn’s eight dissident board members, Marcel Reed and Karen Inman, filed suit demanding access to financial records of Citizens Consulting Inc., the umbrella group through which most of Acorn’s money flows. Ms. Inman told a news conference this month Mr. Rathke still exercises power over CCI and Acorn against the board’s wishes. Bertha Lewis, the interim head of Acorn, told me Mr. Rathke has no ties to Acorn and that the dissident board members were “obsessed” and “confused.”
According to public records, the IRS filed three tax liens totaling almost $1 million against Acorn this spring. Also this spring, CCI was paid $832,000 by the Obama campaign for get-out-the-vote efforts in key primary states. In filings with the Federal Election Commission, the Obama campaign listed the payments as “staging, sound, lighting,” only correcting the filings after the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review revealed their true nature.
“Acorn needs a full forensic audit,” Ms. MonCrief says, though she doesn’t think that’s likely. “Everyone wants to paper things over until later,” she says. “But it may be too late to reform Acorn then.” She strongly supports Barack Obama and hopes his allies can be helpful in cleaning up the group “after the heat of the election is gone.”

Criminal abortionist quack George Tiller is asking the FBI to investigate the vandalism of May 1 at his Wichita abortion mill, which seems to have caused several thousand dollars in damage.
You don’t need the FBI to investigate vandalism. You need the FBI to investigate cover-ups by state and local government shielding illegal abortions that violate federal laws.

Leftist, baby-hating officials at George Washington University have honored the College Democrats group as the “Most Outstanding Student Organization of The Year.” This group is proven to have hatefully, viciously, and criminally vandalized a campus pro-life display in February, which featured crosses donated by a church to remember babies killed in abortions. The crosses were found scattered throughout the College Democrats office, some of them pinned upside down on a bulletin board with anti-Christian messages scrawled on them. Others had condoms affixed to them.
GWU officials refused to say whether or not any students have been reprimanded and refused to investigate the vandalism and religious bigotry.

Advocates for pro-life crisis pregnancy centers in Heartbeat International’s “Babies Go to Congress” campaign are showing Congress how mothers have been immensely helped there, and how Planned Parenthood abortion mills are not offering mothers choices, but instead are consistently pushing them into profitable but unwanted abortions.

“A physician acting in good faith to save a pregnant woman’s life, and using his or her best medical judgment, should not be subject to later criminal prosecution.”
. . . Bilious Sebelius, in her veto message promoting illegal post-viable abortions, refusing to acknowledge that there has not been one case of a post-viable abortion committed to save a mother’s life in over 10 years in Kansas

The Kansas “senators” who caused the veto override of SB 218 to fail by 2 votes, allowing illegal post-viable abortions to continue with “I can’t miss music concerts” loopholes, will have the blood of the these living, kicking babies on their hands. Their siding in favor of such damnable brutality is indefensible, unforgettable, and unforgivable.

A new study in mice may lead to a new treatment of childhood blindness sometimes caused by premature birth.
Abortion is a major risk factor for premature birth in a later pregnancy, as reported in dozens of premature birth studies over the past 2 decades.

Obamanation’s new federal budget calls for taxpayer funded abortions in Washington, DC, a violation of his campaign promise, since taxpayer funding will increase the number of abortions.
Pro-lifers have always known that Obamanation is strictly out to increase abortion mill profits, his favorite cash cow, and that any talk of common ground on abortion is burial ground for babies, a lying bait-and-switch tactic.
Obamanation intends to rake taxpayer funds into Democrat campaign coffers indirectly through greatly increased abortion mill profits, folks.
- – -
Obamanation’s new federal budget cuts $138 million in funding to abstinence-only education, and diverts the money to programs pushing high-failure-rate condoms and contraceptives, which invariably result in a high number of promiscuous schoolgirls flooding in to Planned Parenthood for abortions and venereal disease treatments.

Further recent proof from China shows that fines for birthing an illegal baby in violation of China’s one-child policy, where UNFPA continues forced abortions using Obamanation’s taxpayer funding, have increased to 3-5 times the annual family income. Inability to face such a fine is coercing parents into unwanted abortion and sterilization. Live babies are confiscated until the fine payment is forthcoming. UNFPA has been complicit in the coercive fines, using a fresh $50 million of your taxpayer money, courtesy of Obamanation.
Medial mogul Ted Turner, a fan of Korean dictators, calls the forced abortion policy “successful.”
Meanwhile, a Rasmussen poll shows that a majority of Catholics 60-25% and a majority of Americans 52-25% disapprove of Notre Dame’s college president’s insulting and offensive decision to give Obamanation a speaking platform and honorary degree on May 17, in violation of the Catholic institution’s pro-life mission.
Conservative political activist and former presidential candidate Dr. Alan Keyes was arrested Friday along with 21 other pro-lifers protesting at the University of Notre Dame. Keyes had been warned the previous day by two plain clothes Notre Dame policemen that he would be arrested if he walked on campus, since he is a known pro-lifer and therefore a likely domestic terrorist to be silenced.
Mr. Keyes has since been released on domestic terrorist bail.

Condemning the majority of Catholic voters as misguided, Archbishop Raymond Burke, the prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, the highest court in the Roman Catholic Church, told a crowd at the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC on Friday that no matter what good positions a politician may hold on other issues it is never justified to vote for him if he supports abortion, euthanasia or same-sex marriage.
Change and hope are buzzwords for the culture of death.

A baby’s heart was repaired while she was still in the womb, which doctors at Toronto’s Mount Sinai Hospital and the Hospital for Sick Children called a first in Canada. Océane McKenzie had a severe narrowing of the left ventricle of the heart. If not fixed, the left side of the heart would not function. Without the in utero procedure at 31 weeks gestation, Océane would have needed three surgeries after birth, and faced a shortened lifespan and long-term complications. With a normal heart function stabilized 3 weeks after birth, the infant now faces a normal life expectancy.
parjay: Did you know that abortions are not considerd a moral or leagal matter in Toronto, but purely a medial procedure between a woman and her doctor? Dt. Morgerthaler received the Order of Canada(the highest honor given) for his work is establishing a series of clinics for pregnancy temination because their Charter of syas no hospital or person is required to have anything to do with an abortion if it goes against their ethics even though it is covered by the insurance plan, so many, many hospitals do not perform abortions. That way both sides are respected. Same situation with same-sex marriages which are also legal, no one can be required to either perform, register or witness one if it goes against their ethics. Politician have been condemned by the churches and some Catholic leaders have been told they cannot recieive communion because of the laws, which incudes 5 out the 6 last Prime Ministers, both Conservative and Liberal. Lotsa different way to look at things and in Europe they are even more blase’.
parkay: My apologizes, I just found my glasses and noted the typos!
Parkay–
I have an idea.
Why don’t you elect a majority in Congress, win the Presidency, and get a majority on the Supreme Court.
Then you can finally make abortion illegal again.
Hey, wait. That’s what you had under WorstPresidentEver.
How’d that work out for you?
Here’s how desperate the CONs are to discredit Obama:
At a harmless photo-op at a hamburger stand in DC–
OBAMA: I’m going to have a – just your basic Cheddar cheeseburger, medium well. I just want mustard, no ketchup. If you’ve got like a spicy mustard or something like that, or a Dijon mustard, something like that.”
Here’s how the CONmentators responded:
Following President Obama’s May 5 visit to Ray’s Hell Burger in Arlington, Virginia, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and Rush Limbaugh Show guest host Mark Steyn criticized Obama as an elitist because he ordered a burger with “spicy mustard” or “Dijon mustard.” Hannity claimed that Obama ordered a “fancy burger” with a “very special condiment,” while Steyn asserted Obama is trying “to enlighten us” through his order. Ingraham asked of Obama: “What kind of man orders a cheeseburger without ketchup but Dijon mustard? … The guy orders a cheeseburger without ketchup? What is that?”
Listen to the CONs go apeschitt crazy about ACORN.
How dare poor people organize themselves for political power?! Who do they think they are, SPECIAL INTERESTS?!”
The only thing ACORN is guilty of is participatory democracy for formerly out-of-power people.
Suck on it, CONs.
Ingraham asked of Obama: “What kind of man orders a cheeseburger without ketchup but Dijon mustard? …
A commie pinko fag, that’s what kind of man eats FRENCH mustard on a cheesburger!”
My Gorsh, how did this man even manage to father children?

Fox News Channel is the butt of jokes and the target of attacks like no other media outlet in the English-speaking world, not least by people who fancy themselves the guardians of a free press. But Fox News is today the lone television news service in the English-speaking world capable of serious skepticism and scrutiny of the sitting president and the Congress of the United States.
Fox News is also the second most-watched channel in all American cable television. It long ago became by far the most-watched cable news channel; more Americans watched Fox News than CNN and MSNBC combined in every time slot from 6 a.m. to midnight in April. Now, while The New York Times is $1.3 billion in debt, Fox has expanded its operations with a business channel and a juggernaut Internet presence.
There’s a lesson there, though Fox News will be just as well pleased if the impeccably “mainstream” news business remains clueless about it.
The people need a Fourth Estate, not yet another adulator of Barack Obama, yet another smearer of Sarah Palin, yet another patrician editor to keep out anything disagreeable to progressive sensibilities, yet another laptop-and-latte journalism-schooler to spit on everything pre-dating 1968. Anti as much passion as there is in the posts here, the authors you just know are sexually excited while thinking them up. There is evidence and even for me that many who post here are in need of a life.
Maybe BlueJay can give you a nice back rub, WSClark.
You know, to make you feel jolly again.
cosmos, I rarely respond to twerps, of which you are queen or whatever, so just zip it up. But just so you don’t waste anymore energy, and take up more blog space, boring everyone I will respond for now.
Lets set the facts straight what Algore said, and I quote verbatim, Gore said, “During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet.”
Now that’s what the fat mouth said.
‘Invented’ vs ‘initiative in creating’, the meaning is open for interpretation.
Gore and the Internet:
“During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet” Gore said when asked to cite accomplishments that separate him from another Democratic presidential hopeful, former Sen. Bill Bradley of New Jersey, during an interview with Wolf Blitzer on CNN on March 9, 1999.
Gore supported technological advances related to the advancement of the Internet, but to say that HE took the initiative in creating the Internet is a bit much.
http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/stories/1999/03/09/president.2000/transcript.gore/index.html
“First, I know he never said he “invented” the Internet. Please notice the quote above. Second, saying that he took the initiative in CREATING the Internet is still a funny statement since the Internet was already created and being used (ex: file copying via the UUCP protocol and e-mail) by the time he was elected to Congress. One can’t take the “initiative” to “create” something which has already been created.)”
Never the less, Algore is a sick minded self-righteous hypocrite who uses more energy than 20+ ordinary people, and is doing what he’s doing for income and self-promotion. Unfortunately he has a whole raft of dummies like yourself to follow along like rats behind their Pied Piper.

I think you are drunk.
“Maybe BlueJay can give you a nice back rub, WSClark.”
Maybe when you meet your Maker, ANTI, you can explain why you have such hatred in your heart for your fellow man.
I hope that day comes soon – maybe tonight.
writerdog & WSClark,
I am thinking of giving you a free guided fishing tour on Cheney..To lighten you all up…
I should think about it.
WS sounds out of his head again, not just angry.
It’s funny how he ’snaps’.
And talk about out of his head and angry….look at those posts of cosmos.
We all knew cosmos was out of his head with his one topic boring life, but look how he comes completely unglued when someone talks (the truth) badly about his demigod idol Algore.
Now that’s funny.
Maybe when you meet your Maker, ANTI, you can explain why you have such hatred in your heart for your fellow man.
I hope that day comes soon – maybe tonight.
=========================
WTF?
Clarky, I have no hatred for my fellow man?
What ever lead you to that belief?

Everything you post, on any thread.
“I would bring a vest.”
For your sake, it needs to be fire-proof.

So, Clark likes the ‘fire’, eh?
Well, this turns things around a bit.
I tried to support you during your loss, and after.

Okay, ha, do it. That would be interesting to see or hear about.
Gee Anti, what’s got WS’s panties all wadded up tonight, ha?

boxlock20,
You copy/pasted from gargaro.com, to defend your copy/paste that misquoted Al Gore?
Now that’s really funny!
Al Gore made an accurate statement, according to the legislation, and people who worked with him, like Newt Gingrich. Gore took the leadership role, in Congress, in creating the Internet.
And boxlock . . . where are your sources re your Susan Boyle posts?

“Good….I’m relieved.”
Believe me, Box, I would rather endure most any torture than to have to spend a minute with you.
Hell, I would rather watch HOURS of reruns of the 700 Club than spend mere SECONDS with you.
As I said, “It is my greatest hope, that during this coming night, the likes of ANTI, Box, the Prices, Regular, AmWay, JimJohnson, OK/KS Grannie, Golfnut and others of their ilk, pass away and stand before their Maker………….”
Well, there it is then. :D
No pain – he didn’t like me and I didn’t like him.
=============================================
Fine then.
Hey.
This is not my first internet rodeo.
And “Boxlock20″ is nothing more than a traditional troll.
Poor guy. Has no other human contact than WE Blog and desperately posts crap to get a rise out of people.
I’ve seen this behavior before and it really isn’t worth bothering about.
“ANTI” is another; revealed upthread when I refused to rise to his obvious death threat and responded with a mutation of a punchline of an old joke.
“ANTI” responded with, “Well played.”
No play involved.
I pwned “ANTI” with ten words or less.
Look: We’re in an era where Hannity chews up 40 minutes on Fakes News Channel over President Obama ordering something other than yellow mustard.
I’ve taken “Boxlock20″ “to school” with twenty words or less and saved WE Blog a couple of days from his rants against “BlueJay.” But he couldn’t help himself and came back with his braggadocio today. Twice “HLP” has committed to a one-to-one IRL meet-up, then whimpered away.
Go ahead and feed the trolls. It’s what they want and need. But don’t expect any rational response, “WSClark.”
They’re desperate for attention. We feed their internet addiction. Only they don’t realize we’re playing with them like my kitty does with a mouse.
“Hell, I would rather watch HOURS of reruns of the 700 Club than spend mere SECONDS with you.”–WS
The 700 Club, what a great idea, that would be good for you WS….do that too.
As long as we are exchanging childish insults for the fun of it how’s this one; ‘I would rather be forced to sit for “HOURS” in ‘Jabba The Huts’ wet greasy lap than be within smelling proximity of you. And I’ll bet that is quite a long way.
“During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet” –Algore

Well now WS, you sound like a sore angry loser for sure.
What’s got your bowels all in an uproar tonight?
It would really bother me that you are so very uncomfortable but frankly…..you deserve it.
So live with it I guess.
PS: I really like being me, I know who I am, and the principles I live by, and like both.
And if I look way back over my shoulder, I see losers like you floundering around back in the distance.
WS, take comfort in knowing that as bad off as you are, you are way way ahead of that little mindless twerp of a cosmos.
cosmos is like one of those little yappy dogs, you know the worthless noisy ugly things, that look like a freak of nature and inbreeding.
Well here, see for yourself;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B72fbXDQ7Lg
Proving once again that the lies of the rightwing are immortal like cancer, Boxlock trots out the perennial “Al Gore said he invented the internet” canard.
Snopes debunks it here: http://www.snopes.com/quotes/internet.asp
What Al Gore actually said “I took the inititive in creating the internet” is absolutely true.
Vinton Cerf, the “father of the internet” [which no rightwinger has ever heard of, being ignoramuses] has this in his resume:
During his graduate student years, he studied under Professor Gerald Estrin, worked in Professor Leonard Kleinrock’s data packet networking group that connected the first two nodes of the ARPANet, the predecessor to the Internet, and “contributed to a host-to-host protocol” for the ARPANet. While at UCLA, he also met Robert E. Kahn, who was working on the ARPANet hardware architecture. After receiving his doctorate, Cerf became an assistant professor at Stanford University from 1972-1976, where he “conducted research on packet network interconnection protocols and co-designed the DoD TCP/IP protocol suite with Kahn.
Cerf then moved to DARPA in 1976, where he stayed until 1982.
In an open letter defending Gore and widely ignored by the drive-by media, both Cerf and Kahn said this:
http://www.eecs.umich.edu/~fessler/misc/funny/gore,net.txt
Al Gore and the Internet
By Robert Kahn and Vinton Cerf
Al Gore was the first political leader to recognize the importance of the
Internet and to promote and support its development.
No one person or even small group of persons exclusively “invented” the
Internet. It is the result of many years of ongoing collaboration among
people in government and the university community. But as the two people
who designed the basic architecture and the core protocols that make the
Internet work, we would like to acknowledge VP Gore’s contributions as a
Congressman, Senator and as Vice President. No other elected official, to
our knowledge, has made a greater contribution over a longer period of
time.
Last year the Vice President made a straightforward statement on his role.
He said: “During my service in the United States Congress I took the
initiative in creating the Internet.” We don’t think, as some people have
argued, that Gore intended to claim he “invented” the Internet. Moreover,
there is no question in our minds that while serving as Senator, Gore’s
initiatives had a significant and beneficial effect on the still-evolving
Internet. The fact of the matter is that Gore was talking about and
promoting the Internet long before most people were listening. We feel it
is timely to offer our perspective.
As far back as the 1970s Congressman Gore promoted the idea of high speed
telecommunications as an engine for both economic growth and the
improvement of our educational system. He was the first elected official
to grasp the potential of computer communications to have a broader impact
than just improving the conduct of science and scholarship. Though easily
forgotten, now, at the time this was an unproven and controversial
concept. Our work on the Internet started in 1973 and was based on even
earlier work that took place in the mid-late 1960s. But the Internet, as
we know it today, was not deployed until 1983. When the Internet was still
in the early stages of its deployment, Congressman Gore provided
intellectual leadership by helping create the vision of the potential
benefits of high speed computing and communication.

Loser? My Party holds the House, Senate and the Presidency and most of the country identifies themselves as liberal or progressive – just like me.

Sounds like you’re the loser Box.
““During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet”
There is not an ounce of dishonesty or exaggeration in that statement.
But why would I expect any better from bawks?
How may I humiliate you this evening bawks?
Who do you have for this evening who secretly hates President Obama, as you asserted singer Susan Boyle did?
The CONs want to ridicule Al Gore’s assertion, not because it is false, but because it is true.
They don’t want to admit that the internet, one of the astonishing technological marvels of the modern age, came about primarily thanks to BIG government–universities, public funding, and defense programs.
It didn’t happen because some Ayn Randian individual wanted to make himself rich.
“They’re desperate for attention. We feed their internet addiction. Only they don’t realize we’re playing with them like my kitty does with a mouse.”
Except the dumbass dimlibs don’t know which is which, the kitty and the mouse, ha.
And they take the bait even when they know there is a hook, because they are slaves to their egos and emotions, Ha!
Monkey, go get your own saying, the ‘I took you to school’ is what I used first, months ago, and really really did it for real with BlowJb. You using it is a lie of course.
Stop with the flattery by using it as your own.

Now that the Al Gore quote has been put in context and shown to be essentially true, one wonders when the reich-wing will bring it up again . . . blissfully oblivious of its having been positively de-bunked time after time.
The hydra-headed lies of the reich-wing . . . thank God, the majority have wised up to them.

Taking the initiative in making the internet available to the public has been a tremendous boon to humanity. Even IF it the internet DOES give voice to bits of human flotsam like “ANTI” and bawks.

It seems I am your ‘enemy’?
(I welcome the warming, it helps my business)
boxlock,
Who pushed legislation for fiber optics?
Who pushed legislation for supercomputers in the mid-1980’s?
Who fought for several years to fund extensive Internet developments, but was blocked by Republicans? He finally convinced them to pass it, by getting a GAO report that showed the many benefits that the Internet would bring.
I’m not sure that we are better off since we have the ideological and moral sewer called the internet. It is useful to have information is at your fingertips, but the manner in which any idiot can find validation for his wacked out ideas is crazy. It’s here but life would be better without a lot of the internet’s seedier aspects.
Oh well, it will be running out of space soon anyway.

Actually, I did build a Heath kit and a Popular Electronics kit – both were primitive computers.
In the 1970s there wasn’t really a personal computer as we think of today.
Blinking green or gray screen monitors, VT100 terminals and all that…
Some punch hole machines were still being used, but tape drives ruled the day.
Word processors, a little later on were as big as a console TV on steroids. :D

Algore is a slob, but on to more interesting things.
I do have to say one thing for him….lately he’s been quiet…a blessed thing.
Now for more about the stupid moron kids running the country into the ground.
Deficits soar even with rosy assumptions in new Obama budget
WASHINGTON — The White House on Monday projected 2009 and 2010 federal budget deficits far higher than it forecast just two and a half months ago, even as it continued to defy most experts and predict that the economy is headed for a strong comeback starting late this year.
Economists scoffed at the latest administration predictions.
“If they keep playing this game, they’re going to have real credibility problems,” predicted Brian Bethune, the chief U.S. financial economist at IHS Global Insight, an economic research firm.

Sorry, I checked that out.
While it IS true that there is a struggle to keep up with the wiring of the planet, efforts ARE well under way. Additional space for even more IP’s is being worked on even now.

======================
It was a nine hole course, small municipal course.
One hole was just beneath 200 yards. I did get a few birdies that day, but was pretty average on the rest of them.
When I finally played on an 18 hole course, I picked up a lot of strokes because of inexperience. Scored mostly in the 90s, with an occasional 100+ games of sand trap hell. :)
I finally gave it up, no time. But after awhile, I swear my ball was a tree finder. If there was a tree anywhere close, I would find it. :)
BTW, Regular, perhaps you’d like to explain this in more detail: “Opportunity is there for all. Having a proper attitude to take it on is key.”

==============================
Perhaps if you wouldn’t have majored in English and Liberal arts wimp classes, you too could have had an excellent adventure.
(chortles)
Your ability to cloud the issue with an irrelevant personal attack doesn’t make your statement any less contradictory to your present life.
Either “opportunity is here for all,” in which case, you’re a total loser OR “opportunity is NOT here for all” and people who are disabled and discouraged and abused and subject to racial hatred and too young and too old maybe DON’T have the same “opportunities.”
The fact that you won’t address that contradiction doesn’t make it any less contradictory.
Regular is so old and disabled, it seems that all that he can do is troll on this blog.
Right, Cosmos. Which is fine.
What’s not fine is his passing judgement on everybody else saying that “opportunity is everywhere” so that if they aren’t successes, it’s their own damn fault.
Strangely, he doesn’t seem aware of how he is damning himself with his own mouth.
Regular is like the slave who internalizes the moral code of the slave master.
So sad the Capn is stuck in a conundrum of his own design and can’t see it. :)
CapnAmerica,
Old, disabled Regular wont address that contradiction, because he is a professional troll. . . and a total loser.
cosmos wants more soup.
lol!
Who is dumber, James McCluer, professional troll, or those who argue with him ad nauseam?
I think I know the answer. Too bad, people smarter than me, can’t figure it out…
The embittered Steven Davis shows his true blog face.
That’s cute James. I’m embittered? I am able to work and contribute to my family and others.
You? Well, maybe not so much…
If anyone is unclear as to what a pathetic loser you are, they are not seeing reality. Loser.
I know James, the truth hurts. It must suck to live your life every day. I truly feel sorry for you…

Regular,
Thanks, but no. You already gave me enough soup, on the Polar bear thread.
A self-important college aged liberal democrat was walking along the beach and took it upon himself to explain to a senior citizen resting on some steps why it was impossible for the older to understand his generation.
“You grew up in a different world, actually an almost primitive one,” the student said, loud enough for others to hear. “The young people of today grew up with television, jet planes, space travel, man walking on the moon. We have nuclear energy, ships, and cell phones, computers at light speed…..and many more.”
After a brief silence, the Senior responded as follows: “You’re right, son…we didn’t have those things when we were young….so we invented them. Now, you arrogant little shi+, what are you doing for the next generation?”
We know what these dimlibs are doing….wasting their lives on this blog, ha.
Oh and cosmos can’t even post the right link to a post….he kept posting a link to his own and calling it mine, then acting like a smart ass for me not responding to that imcompetence….ha, how can the little twerp read his holy grail peered reviewed articles and understand anything. What a fake.
Okay, things degenerated quickly per usual . . .
But, seriously, I’m not baiting Regular nor am I calling him a loser.
He probably worked hard and provided many years of service to society in the military and in the civilian sector, and now he’s got a disability and he’s retired.
There’s nothing dishonorable about that–far from it in fact.
I just wonder how he can hold the belief that “there’s opportunity for all in America” when his own experience shows that sometimes the only opportunity left is working as a greeter at Walmart.
It’s like GMC who hates gov’t and everything it stands for . . . that’s why he works for it.
Regular can’t seem to explain the contradiction of his own life and his rock-hard conviction that “there’s opportunity for all in America.” He has said repeatedly that employers won’t hire disabled people. SO, there really isn’t “opportunity for all,” is there.
Boxlock–
No liberals I know would insult a senior in the way you suggest.
Liberals generally aren’t even that gung-ho on new technology. Hippies hated computers for instance.
I was think about becoming a ‘Community Organizer’ Capn.
You know,
- give speeches
- spend the public’s money
- infiltrate the back room political schema of leftist think tanks.
or
Open up a coffee clatch and whining parlor for Liberals – should be very popular

I would hope not Capn.
There seem to be several liberals on this blog that are clear in their ridicule of older posters though and bring age into their ridiculing posts.
Come on though, the liberals here are ready to abandon nearly everything to do with conventional energy productions and comfortable cars to embrace whatever less reliable or as yet unproven and undeveloped technology.

No boxlock, I posted a link to my post, and asked you to provide your source.
This link is to boxlock’s post that contains his source.

boxlock’s source does not support what he claimed in his May 11, 6:48 am post, and boxlock cannot support his claim — so boxlock attacks me, and lies about what I posted.
“No boxlock, I posted a link to my post, and asked you to provide your source.”—cosmos
I followed the link YOU GAVE dimwit, to your own post, after saying something about ‘Boxlock says’ and then the link.
You screwed up….but that’s to be expected, no big deal.
I remain convinced….she and/or the show organization ’stiffed him’, for whatever reason. Too funny!
Boyle would rather be in Blackburn than with Barack
By Douglas Wight, 10/05/2009
SUSAN Boyle turned down the chance of a dream dinner date with President Barack Obama in Washington . . . to stay at home and wash her hair, we can reveal.
