The President just told us to wash our hands after shaking hands and cover our mouths when we cough.
Have we sunk so low as a society we need a Kindergarten teacher as President?

I’ll have to watch it and comment later.

Common sense reminders as to good health habits certainly cannot hurt. bush told us to address terrorism by buying things!

Problem is? MOST of the people who use their sleeve as a hanky and slobber all over everything won’t see the speech.

Have you forgotten Karl Rove’s declaration that half of the people are below average? President Obama is president of all people, including those half that are below average in every way.

BlueJay’s comment can be translated as he has to wait until MSNBC comments on it and the DU enters their version of the speech and answer session.

Glad see he’s standing firm against torture and basically said without saying, “Yes, the previous administration violated the Geneva conventions.”

But unlike Obama, I wouldn’t characterize it as a “mistake.” It was an on-purpose.

What “hard” questions would YOU have asked, KSGrm?

Maybe like “what are you going to do do to unravel the mess Bush II left you with?”

Or, “why is one of the longest tenured Republican Senator defecting to the Democrats?”

Or, “where were you when the USS Cole was attacked?”

Dick Morris had this to say and I think he knows what he’s talking about.
Goes to show the saying that the ‘masses are asses’ is true also.

“So if voters differ so fundamentally with the president on the very essence of his program, why do they accord him high ratings? They are like the recently married bride who took her vows 100 days ago. It would be a disaster for her life if she decides that she really doesn’t like her husband. But she keeps noticing things about him that she can’t stand. It will be a while before she walks out the door or even comes to terms with her own doubts, but it is probably inevitable that she will.”

I am once again seeing examples of how we can not trust any news sources for the real news.
The latest example was a text ribbon running at the bottom of the screen that states:
Obama said that water boarding is torture and the information could have been gotten another way”.

NO he did not say that, he did say he considered water boarding as torture that part is true.
BUT he did not say the information could have been gotten another way.
What he did say was that the larger question has not been answered as to whether the information could have been gotten another way?

If you want to convict someone with their own words at least try to use their own word to convict them!
And BTW that was MSNBC yeah I know that some were thinking it must have been on Fox!

No one died from waterboarding or taking their clothes away! Don’t be such a dumbass.

Yes Boxlock20 some one did die a little, WE died! What makes this country one you want your kids to live in died? Not the land or the work place but the very thing that makes America a country worth living in.
American principles and ideas took a blow to the heart. That is what Bin Laden was fighting and wants to end. Not our freedoms or our wealth but that which is worth fighting and dying for.

That which has made us who we are, a principled and moral people. “Oh but if they were not such bad people we would not have done it!”. That is the same excuse the preacher gives when caught going into a porn shop.

It is not that he are wrong its that if that blacked out windows and black and white sign had not been there you would not have gone in! A violation of his principles that he claimed to have.

It that to be the ruler for your principles? It all well and good as long as no one dies?
Why did they have a medical Doctor there during and after these intense interrogations?
That Doctor has a trach kit there because during the torture the throat has a tendency to seize up and will not allow air to pass. There is a crash cart there because in the moments of intense mental and physical distress. The heart can become over worked and fail not to mention that water can be aspirated into the lungs and cause a collapse. But as long as that does not happen its OK to over look principles and values of America!

The terrorists are not burdened by such moralities, values and principles and see their extreme and vile ways as being justified by the reasons. It is claimed to be against this violation of our principles as being in league with the terrorists. Of being soft on their ways and thinking and defending them. and siding with them.

Those who side with “we do not torture or make excuses for the practice” are siding with the United States.
We do not share the morals and principles of the terrorists and think that there is no act that is beyond the justification. Be it making someone suffer some minute thought that these crazy people are going to kill me or beheading them. Even those who designed the program and did the training on our troops say that it is torture and warned the Administration of such. Being a moral people is not easy, ask the preacher who is caught walking into a porn shop?

Writer I hope it is never your son or daughter whose life is on the line when we can’t get info to stop an attack.

The heart of our nation is being cut out one snip at a time everytime Obama apologizes for our ‘arrogance’. Every time he allows his wife to say we are a downright mean nation and doesn’t publically repudiate her. Everytime he says we are a nation hanging on to our guns and bibles and thinks that is ok. I could go on but it obviously doesn’t bother you what he does to the citizens of the US only to the suspected terrorists.

Yes we have taken a blow to our heart but it has nothing to do with what the CIA, FBI and the honorable men and women who serve in our military have done.

Box people including children and grandchildren also lived in the Soviet Union, in Afghanistan and in Nazi Germany. Simply a desire to live is not always the best way to live if there is nothing about that life that is worth living for or dying for. Besides you give far too much power to Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda, there is far more danger from lighting or a car ride.

You simply are seeking revenge not protection that is human but not in defense of your country or what makes your country worth living in over another country.

    —————————————————-
Problem with this logic is the car and lighting hasn’t declared war on me, called for “Holy war” against me or believes that they are ordained somehow to bring about my destruction.
One car or one lighting stike isn’t going to kill up tens of if not hundreds of thousands either.
Unlike a car crash (but like lighting) it will only take once.

OKO, we endured seven years of our President declaring war on the world. Of going around threatening the world with the weight of the U.S. Military. Of acting like a school yard bully and the biggest kid in the class. Within day of 9-11 the world was with us and supported us, Great Briton all through the many terrorist attacks they suffered never felt such support from the world, why? We suffered one attack on our soil and got more support even from our now foe of Iran, Then G.B. got from several decades of attack on theirs.

It got to the point where even our “friends” would have seen because of the arrogance that perhaps we might deserve attack. If America had called for the aid of the world in a struggle again like Iraq.
We would have truly been alone in the struggle there would not have been support even from the people of Great Briton.

Right now my son is in a country where the average citizen really does not care if he lives or dies.
He can not trust anyone one who is Iraqis to come to his aid or even shout “don’t kill him!”.
For the most part he has the status of the “untouchable” does in India.
We liberated these people and he has to keep watch of every Iraqis that is allowed on the base.
They smile as they walk by, but as they walk they are counting one foot, two foot, three foot and so on.
Just how far from the wall is the barrack where my son sleeps. That is his daily life and his choice because he is an American and went to beside those just like him.

As powerful and strong as America is, we still need the support of the world and would not have it because we was seen as more a threat to the world peace then the terrorists. And why? Because of our arrogances.
We was acting as a wounded animal does, snapping and snarling at not just those who threaten or hate us but also at those we seek out their help. The “us against them” mentality went to our friends as well as our enemies.

OKO you are a smart person far to smart to continue that non-sense about Michele Obama’s statement about America. And you are also smart enough to understand why she would have said it. So I will not insult your intelligence by addressing that issue.

Mr. Kia have you studied their history and the history of such movements? They fail under their own weight and lose the support in time. It was painted that those in the training camps were there to be trained to be Al-Qaeda. But the reality was that Bin Laden had quite a hard time finding new troops for his cause.
The majority had no interest in joining a war against the United States or another other country then the one they came from.

As to the threat of mass deaths from Al-Qaeda it is true that their desire for it set them a part from the other terrorists. In part that has more to do with our not being attacked since 9-11. They just can not figure out how to top 9-11. AND beside his tiny group is also a threat to the rest of the countries in the world no one want to help them get WMDs. For fear there is as much chance of those weapons being used against them too. OBL declared war not just against America he declared it against the world.

The reality is that Al-Qaeda itself does not have this worldwide reach, there are other groups that have similar ideology. But they’re a threat to the country they are in not to the world. The association between Al-Qaeda and them is the same as it is between individual bank robbers. Same idea but that is about where it ends. They may claim an association but it is solely to give a group of three or four nuts more prestige.

WE are a big country and need a big enemy to fear and threaten us. Much of the hype is to that case, much like it is hard for some to believe that a lone gunman could have killed the most powerful man in the world back in 1963 and in Dallas. There is just more hat then cattle to this.
