Rep. Todd Tiahrt, R-Goddard, told The Eagle editorial board that he thought Gov. Kathleen Sebelius might be vulnerable in a possible U.S. Senate race in 2010 on the issue of the Holcomb coal plants. Tiahrt, who is running for the Senate seat, made an opening salvo this week by issuing a press release about a letter he sent to Sebelius urging her to reconsider her opposition to the new coal plants. “I ask that you use your authority to allow clean-coal projects to move forward quickly in Kansas,” Tiahrt wrote.
