We won’t have Bush’s gaffes to kick around anymore

President George W. Bush’s every odd comment and full-fledged gaffe has been recorded and subject to replay and ridicule. Not surprisingly, the end of his administration has led humorist Daniel Kurtzman to round up Bush’s 50 “dumbest” quotes, including:
“I promise you I will listen to what has been said here, even though I wasn’t here” (at the President’s Economic Forum in Waco, Texas, Aug. 13, 2002).
“Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB-GYNs aren’t able to practice their love with women all across this country” (Poplar Bluff, Mo., Sept. 6, 2004).
“You work three jobs? . . . Uniquely American, isn’t it? I mean, that is fantastic that you’re doing that” (to a divorced mother of three, Omaha, Feb. 4, 2005).
“Goodbye from the world’s biggest polluter” (in parting words to world leaders at his final G-8 Summit, Japan, July 10, 2008).

When you run into one of those little life’s problems that seem to crop up every so often, just ask yourself, “What would George Bush #43 do in this situation?”

Nobama may be a better speaker but he will provide more than ample fodder for comment on his socialist actions

As a president, Shrub was a joke.

    But it’s no laughing matter.

Partisanship is a major part of what got us in the position we’re in now. It’s a mindset we can ill afford considering the condition of our economy. Neither Democrats or Republicans can solve our problems alone. Maybe it’s time to put country before party for a change.

    Yeah, I know….stupid idea.

For real laughs, though, you have to go to Bush’s apologists.

    This, from January, 2003.

Odd, I thought China was the world’s biggest polluter now. Plus, the old Iron Curtain countries have notorious pollution problems that still exist.

Perhaps we’ll know better in a few days when we hear from Obama and his 52 states.

Strange, it was perfectly correct when republicans were in charge. Now the democrats want to bury the hatchet?

Watch carefully where they want it to be buried.

Point taken. Deeds outweigh words, so we’ll just have to see what happens. There’s blame enough to go around. But the bus is headed for the cliff; do we stay on the bus and argue who best can put on the brakes, or do we stop the insanity and deal with the problem (stopping the bus, or country from going over the cliff)?

That’s the only thing I’ll miss about Bush…I often got the best belly laugh from the stupid things he’d say. I’ll miss the way Jay Leno made fun off him all the time. There is no way Obama will provide the comedy fodder that Bush did..he’s way too smart, thank God.

It is here, Bush and the Republicans are soon to be gone. What a day, we all have been looking for it for 8 years. What a mess Bush and his buddies have made for the Democrats to clean up. Worst president this country has ever had and will have, total disaster.

    ferdie,
“George Bush is the true American.”

That says some pretty awful things about America. Maybe you should reconsider either your statement or your patriotism.
