Oh oh oh first post. What should I say?
Good Morning bloggers.
Is that all we get today?
2 threads and the open?
I say if the Eagle editors don’t wish to continue to blog, that they open a forum where we can post topics for discussion then.
Let us choose the topics.
It’s an open thread, choose the topic you want.
BTW: Did you see the story in which Chief Justice Roberts begged for increased salaries for federal judges. If he don’t like the pay, he can resign, is my opinion.
The poor babies make a minimum of $150,000.
We get two hundred different topics on this one thread, and it makes it incredibly hard to keep up with and wade through. The other topic heads at least we can mostly stay on topic. It would make more sense to have more topics, and fewer posts on each.
How sad is it that a boy can go missing and nobody even notice.
I hope arrests are made soon. What a tragedy.
New satellite data presented by NASA scientists shows the loss of an estimated 2 trillion tons of ice from Greenland, the Antarctic and the North Poll: proof positive of global warming’s dramatic effects, they claimed.
“‘More than half of the loss of landlocked ice in the past five years has occurred in Greenland, based on measurements of ice weight by NASA’s GRACE satellite,’ said NASA geophysicist Scott Luthcke, in a report by the Environmental News Network.
The news was better for Alaska. After a precipitous drop in 2005, land ice increased slightly in 2008 because of large winter snowfalls, Luthcke said. Since 2003, when the NASA satellite started taking measurements, Alaska has lost 400 billion tons of land ice.
The Greenland melting, added Luthcke, appears to be accelerating.

Don’t worry JM, it’s the wind.
Oh yeah; and the Vikings used to grow pineapples on Greenland.
Yea beber… with seeds they brought with them from Lapland… LOL
KABUL: When it comes to governing this violent, fractious land, everything, it seems, has its price.
Want to be a provincial police chief? It will cost you $100,000.
Want to drive a convoy of trucks loaded with fuel across the country? Be prepared to pay $6,000 per truck, so the police will not tip off the Taliban.
Need to settle a lawsuit over the ownership of your house? About $25,000, depending on the judge.

Good morning to you, Hank. Looks like it’s going to be another beautiful day.
Looks to me like Kabul is a little pricier.
Good news here’s one EU leader who does not believe in climate change like Kathy and Rod.

Now we can all wait for Hank to tell us how the violence level in Chicago is somehow related to Obama… LOL

Some Forecasters See a Fast Economic Recovery
Economics as the dismal science? Not in some quarters.
In the midst of the deepest recession in the experience of most Americans, many professional forecasters are optimistically heading into the new year declaring that the worst may soon be over.

Pollyanna, anyone?
Poor george. . . he believes that a free-market ECONOMIST knows more about science than the scientists.

Wikipedia,
Václav Klaus: “Global warming is a false myth and every serious person and scientist says so.”[28]
So the eminent free-market economist believes that ALL of these groups and people are not “serious” (aka joking)?

They ALL have a strange sense of humour?
cosMo,
Why do you zealously promote your faith?
“British scientist Keith Shine, one of IPCC’s lead authors, discussing the POLICYMAKERS’ Summary. He said: “We produce a draft, and then the POLICYMAKERS go through it line by line and change the way it is presented…. It’s peculiar that they have the final say in what goes into a SCIENTISTS’ report”.”
You confuse the POLICYMAKERS or POLITICIANS with SCIENTISTS like Keith Shine. The SCIENCE reports are censored by the POLITICIANS.
Now I know what your credentials are cosMo, you’re a Political Science major. No wonder you won’t reveal that.
Who is your favorite poet? Machiavelli?

Hank posted January 2, 2009 at 9:45 pm
The ’scientists’ at realclimate.org are political hacks. Much of their climate ‘research’ has been refuted.
________________
Hank switches from “Algore political propaganda machine” to “political hacks”. And Hank LIES about their climate research being refuted.
But that’s all that old Hank can do, since he believes that Sen. Inhofe(R-Oil) is an accurate, credible climate science source.

Comrade cosMo,
Michael E Mann (Dr.Fraud), the author of the debunked “hockey stick graph” is a co-found of realclimate. How can you say they have any more creditability than the 650 or however many scientists Sen. Inhofe (R-Ok) relies on? Why won’t Algore debate either Klaus or Inhohe?
donndublin,
I am not a Political Science person — but some of YOUR prominent AGW deniers are.
donndublin, WHY are you unable to understand that a “summary” is NOT the main report?
http://www.ipcc.ch/ipccreports/ar4-wg1.htm
The summary (SPM) uses “{…}” to index to the sections in the chapters.
Gore knows when it is futile to debate against blatant ignorance… LOL
donndublin,
Dr. Mann is one of many contributors at RC.
The ‘hockey stick’ has not been refuted.
Science is “debated” with scientific methodology (peer-review, publication, etc). Why wont Klaus or Inhohe submit their scientific papers?
Nearly all of the anti – GW folks can be summed up in the phrase: Psychic Vampire…

Be afraid… Be very afraid!!
Chas,
And the AGW deniers use the same tactics (and some of the same people) as the tobacco industry when it claimed smoking was not unhealthy.
I gotta go, my BIG BROther is calling.
Looks like Israeli ground forces are starting to move into Gaza. The Hamas terrorists will do what cowards do…run and hide. Too bad they brought this on their people.

Found this letter signed by 11,800 preachers. Wow!
That must be a VERY Significant number of preachers who don’t believe in the Bible.
http://www.butler.edu/clergyproject/Christian_Clergy/ChrClergyLtr.htm
Within the community of Christian believers there are areas of dispute and disagreement, including the proper way to interpret Holy Scripture. While virtually all Christians take the Bible seriously and hold it to be authoritative in matters of faith and practice, the overwhelming majority do not read the Bible literally, as they would a science textbook. Many of the beloved stories found in the Bible – the Creation, Adam and Eve, Noah and the ark – convey timeless truths about God, human beings, and the proper relationship between Creator and creation expressed in the only form capable of transmitting these truths from generation to generation. Religious truth is of a different order from scientific truth. Its purpose is not to convey scientific information but to transform hearts.
“the proper way to interpret Holy Scripture”
In other words, these 11,800 preachers (HUGE NUMBER!)say the bible means whatever you want it to mean. It can be interpreted any way you want.
Thus,
1. Killing babies (until they take their first breath)is A-OK.
2. Men sleeping with men isn’t an abomination afterall.
3. Men can marry men, and women can marry women.
This is a whopping number of preachers who believe this.
11,800
We’re not talking about some Tiny Radical Fringe group, no sireee.
11,800 say it must be so.
So, I guess it is so, the Bible is whatever you want it to be.
These clergy say that God didn’t create Earth.
Man evolved from slime, then fish, then monkeys, then became Human over millions of years of Evolution.
God was just a made-up concept of Man. Jesus was made-up too.
God was made by man to rationalize away the fear of death. To give Hope (false) that there is life after death.
That’s what these 11,800 Preachers say.

Johnson, you are a lying sack of excrement, since not ONE word of what you say about the Clergy Letter Project is TRUE…. EVERY word you posted about this important group is totally FALSE!!!
No more TROLL soup for you…. EVER!!!
Chas, I posted straight from The Clergy Letter website.
11,800 preachers. Big number. I wonder how many total clergy there are in the US?
Surely, 11,800 preachers is a Very Significant number of the total number of preachers in the US.
I mean, 11,800 preachers surely could not be WRONG.
11,800 preachers is NOT a Miniscule Radical Leftist Fringe Group.
Ummmm… Johnson??? NO YOU DIDNT!! LIAR!!! I have the letter in my files…. ALL three of them….
388,925. That’s how many clergy there were in the US in 2000, according to the US Census.
http://www.census.gov/cgi-bin/broker
So, out of the total number of preachers in America, 11,800 have signed The Clergy Letter which says the Bible is fiction.
Let’s see, help me with the math here.
11,800/388,925
Why, that’s 3% of the total number of preachers in America!
WHAT? Why only 3%?
97% OF American Clergy have NOT signed The Clergy letter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, I wonder why not?
So, Chas the letters are in your files.
Did you sign them all?
All Chas can do is flail is arms and call me names.
Typical.
The Clergy Letter Project is an endeavor designed to demonstrate that religion and science can be compatible and to elevate the quality of the debate of this issue.

JJ, it sounds as if a very small and radical group of fringe preachers are all that signed this parchment.
Hardly a consensus and more than likely the sum total of all mail order or internet approved ordainments.

Likely just as many preachers use Rattlesnakes in their worship rituals.
Now that the Clergy Letter Group has been exposed to be a tiny group of Kooks, Chas won’t admit to signing the letter himself.
(Non-preachers can’t sign it anyway, even if they believe in such bull carp.)
“Likely just as many preachers use Rattlesnakes in their worship rituals.”
Be careful JJ, I’d hate to have Chas pull his infamous STFU on you…..
You know, like only 3% of clergy would say..
But oh well, every profession has it’s 10% who make a bad name for the rest of them.

Thank you Chas for “elevating the quality of the debate of this issue.”
Are you saying you OPPOSE:

3. Gay marriage.

More like 3%.
But they do “elevate the level of discussion” don’t they?
How absurd.
Of course religion and science can be compatabile.
It is only when the fringe extreme athiests who insist on science being placed in a box which could never consider God that we have problems.
Chas,
DNFTTs. Enjoy the day instead.
I guess Chas got mad and is in the middle of a temper tantrum right now.
Probably kickin his dog and/or wife. (Is there a difference?)
Or he’s gone crying to his momma, again.
Sure Nathan. Very compatible. When the kooks say there is more then one truth, then everything is compatible and you can interpret the Bible to mean anything you want it to mean.
Chas won’t admit to being a signor of this ‘Clergy Letter’, though he seems to support it.

It’s like someone once said, “Henry Ford could explain the Ford, but the Ford could never explain Henry”.
Nathan whines,
“It is only when the fringe extreme athiests who insist on science being placed in a box which could never consider God that we have problems.”
Okay then, how do you propose these godless scientists scientifically study god? Surely you must have come up with something and simply not criticized the entire scientific establishment about something you can’t even deal with.

Johnson…. I signed the Letter…. And I have copies of all THREE letters…. So far, you cant even back up your post as to the number of ordained clergy in America…. That page doesnt seem to exist in the Census reports…. It does, however, list numerous varieties of ordained clergy… including Rabbis….
IF you read the REAL website, as I posted above, anybody with a brain can see that the one I posted is NOT the same as the website YOU posted for the Clergy Letter Project. Oh yea, another NEW Letter was just sent out today….
And YES I support gays, gay marriage, and Roe V. Wade…. with great pleasure….
Why dont YOU go talk to my mother about it… She has been dead for TWELVE YEARS, you A$$HOLE!!!
LYING TROLL!!! and ROACH with you!!!
Next the Kooks will advocate polygamy. Why not have 5, 6, or 15 wives/husbands, of same sex, different sexes, or a mix.
And what’s next? Pediophile relationships.
What’s wrong if a 25 year old man marries a 12 year old girl? When is a girl a girl vs a woman?
Why you can twist the ole Bible a hundred ways this side of Sunday if you want, according to the ‘Clergy’ Letter Project.
The Bible is just a storybook, afterall. (Subject to intreptation and bastradization.)
The Muslims can have up to 5 wives I think, so soon, I wouldn’t be surprised a bit to hear the ‘Clergy” Letter Group supporting polygamy.
Hey Nathaniel, did you ever hear anything from your Marine chain of command about the letter the lying troll Chas claimed to have written to get you in courts-martialed?
I’m guessing Chas falls under the old
Once a liar, always a liar. And a troll.
Maggotpunk,
What Godless scientists are you talking about?
I know many who all believe in God.
And no, I have never heard anything from anyone in regards to any complaint filed against me.
A good web site for describing Johnson, Roach, and others who constantly post LIES on the Blog >>>>
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22psychic+vampires%22&btnG=Google+Search&aq=6&oq=%22psychic
Whatever Nathan, are you going to answer the question or are you going to dodge as usual? But if you like, I’ll rephrase. How do believing scientists scientifically test god?
I have never heard anything from anyone
===========================================
As we all suspected. But Chas, you are forgiven. If you will open your bible, I can show you verse where the lord has forgiven you your sins, so should we all:
“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
Matthew 6:14-15
Chas we forgive you for your unchristian ways.

Maggotpunk, my son, you want to put God in a test tube?
Maggotpunk,
What does your question have to do with anything we are talking about?
Explain that and I will answer.
HDChaplainCorps says,
“Maggotpunk, my son, you want to put God in a test tube?”
There is no god to put in a test tube however Nathan claims that it can be done. I’m waiting for his response on how he intends it can be done.
And Jim Johnson, I confirmed your information. This cult group is only a small minority of the clergy.
Nathan dodges,
“What does your question have to do with anything we are talking about?
Explain that and I will answer.”
As expected you won’t support your claim and you’ll simply dodge. As dishonest as usual and as pathetic as usual.
Maggotpunk,
I have never made any such claim. Nice strawman argument. As usual, any discussion with you is full of logical fallacies on your part. It is all you got.
Maggotpunk,
What is this claim that I have made and will not support?

Oh and Chas, I posted the Census link above to the official US Government census data. Do you have another source to cite showing a different number of Clergy in the US? If so, please post it OR STFU.
And since you do support the “gays, gay marriage, and Roe V. Wade…. with great pleasure” I would expect an apology and retraction from you for 4:05 pm post above.

God help the ignorant maggots on Earth.
Say Chas, how many other ‘preachers’ in Wichita signed “The Clergy Letter”?
Did every preacher in your own Church sign this, or are you alone even in your own congregation?
Looks like only 3 in Wichita signed this letter. The rest must be wrong.
I wouldnt have any idea, numb nuts…. I wasnt in Wichita when I signed it!!
Maggotpunk,
It is not my weak mind which must always resort to logical fallacies in a discussion as you do.
Oh well, looks like you’ll continue to lie and dodge all night Nathan. Maybe next time you shouldn’t make claims you can’t support. Not like you’ll understand.
Oh, so the addresses and names of clergy who signed The Clergy Letter reflect WHERE they signed the letter, and not where they are from.

When clergy embrace the teachings of evolution as truth and abandon the authority of Scripture, they are not using their brains as The Clergy Letter Project claims; instead they are demonstrating they have been brainwashed.
You got that right, MP… right on spot!!
Johnson, your “census” link shows NOTHING about the number of clergy in ANY country… Want to try another link??? LOL
Since 97% of American Clergy have NOT signed The Clergy Letter, views like those below are most common.
http://www.renewamerica.us/columns/creech/060331
Jim Johnson you certainly did catch Chas in a lie in his 4:05 PM post.
Chas does support the breaking of small babies bones in the womb and sucking them out of the womans body. I don’t care what any scientist says, the photo sure likes a human being to me:

Just before Chas clergyman sucks it out.
For those who need their hand held:

I don’t think he’s in this just for the hunt….
One day a guy wants to go hunting but he has never hunted before so he goes to his local gun store and the store clerk suggests a 30/30 good all around with a little power. So the man buys the rifle and goes hunting the next weekend. He is sitting in his stand when he sees a bear. He aims and fires and sees the bear go down. When he gets to the spot the bear is nowhere to be seen. All of a sudden he feels a tap on his shoulder. He turns around and its the bear who gives him 2 options: he could eat him or he can let the bear have sex with him. Well the guy didnt want to die so he sighs and bends over and lets the bear do his thing. After it is all done the man swears revenge. He goes to the gun store and buys the most powerful and accurate gun they have. Next weekend he is sitting in his stand and he sees the bear. He takes aim slowly, shoots and sees the bear go down. He goes to the spot and once agian the bear is not there. He feels a tap on his shoulder and turns around. It is the bear agian. The bear looks at him and Says, “You’re not here to hunt are you.”
Poor guy. He is probably afraid someone will find his real pastors name on the list of signers.
There is no way Chas is a real one. He spends more time on the web blogging than administering to his “flock” or sheep or whatever they are called now days.
He certainly isn’t lifting the hearts or saving any souls. No ministering for him.
I’ll bet he lights the candles during services. What are those kids called?
So, these 11,800 Preachers who signed the Clergy Letter, they REALLY ARE JUST A TEENY TINY FRINGE RADICAL LEFT GROUP OF ANTI-BIBLE NUTS!
Just 3% of all Preachers in America have signed this piece of carp letter.

I am not sure why he tried to dance around that one. Chas certainly posted to Nathan that he was going to report Nathan to the Chaplain Corps with the intention of trying to get another poster in trouble with his military chain of command.
His post above is just smoke and mirrors.
He can’t weasel his way out of it.
Funny thing about lying. It just gets you further and further into trouble.
Chas the pretend minister obviously hasn’t matured enough to learn that lesson.
Yup, I remember Chas reporting Nathan. Then lying several times about it.
You think he’s in to that?
What else can it be? Chas is a “wannabe”.
He wants recognition, respect, fame, and really has a strong desire for people to like him. He wants badly to be leader instead of a follower.
His posts all indicate he has spent a lot of time at the bottom, resentment for authority and those who have moved up, and dissatisfaction with his lot in life. Who else continually bombards the blog with their profession?
Real professionals get their needs met in the real world, and have no need to seek respect on an internet website.
Hey, he lights the candles. Gets to wear a robe. Maybe even put up the seasonal festivity artwork in the church.
Once again, Chas, I’d like to thank you for the good work you do here.
You’re among a very small handful (3%) who post thoughtfully about your faith.
It’s appreciated!
I wonder how many churches are on the national sex offender registry?
Yup, I remember Chas reporting Nathan. Then lying several times about it.
He sure did and said some mighty unnice things about Hank too.
Remember his posting an obituary? Trying to “out” regular, I think it was? Pure mean. You don’t get much lower than that.
Right, I had forgotten about the obituary posted by Chas.
He lied about that too.
Trying to OUT Regular by posting what Chas thought might be Regular’s obituary or a close relative.

Goldwater was also deeply worried about the Religious Right’s long-term impact on his beloved GOP. “If they succeed in establishing religion as a basic Republican Party tenet,” he told U.S. News & World Report in 1994, “they could do us in.” In an interview with The Post that same year, Goldwater observed, “When you say ‘radical right’ today, I think of these moneymaking ventures by fellows like Pat Robertson and others who are trying to take the Republican Party and make a religious organization out of it. If that ever happens, kiss politics goodbye.”

“Well, I’ve spent quite a number of years carrying the flag of the ‘Old Conservatism.’ And I can say with conviction that the religious issues of these groups have little or nothing to do with conservative or liberal politics. The uncompromising position of these groups is a divisive element that could tear apart the very spirit of our representative system, if they gain sufficient strength.” — Goldwater
I’m here to make a plea for help for Susan Peters. If the camera adds ten lbs, she must look like a skeleton in person.
He was absolutely right…it’s what sunk the GOP.
She’s VERY tiny. I doubt she’s even 5 ft tall.
“By maintaining the separation of church and state,” he explained, “the United States has avoided the intolerance which has so divided the rest of the world with religious wars. Can any of us refute the wisdom of Madison and the other framers? Can anyone look at the carnage in Iran, the bloodshed in Northern Ireland, or the bombs bursting in Lebanon and yet question the dangers of injecting religious issues into the affairs of state?” — Goldwater
Goldwater concluded with a waming to the American people. “The religious factions will go on imposing their will on others,” { he said,} “unless the decent people connected to them recognize that religion has no place in public policy. They must learn to make their views known without trying to make their views the only alternatives. We have succeeded for 205 years in keeping the affairs of state separate from the uncompromising idealism of religious groups and we mustn’t stop now” { he insisted}. “To retreat from that separation would violate the principles of conservatism and the values upon which the framers built this democratic republic.”

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid didn’t want Rep. Jesse Jackson in the Senate, a point he made clear to Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich in a conversation about filling Barack Obama’s vacant Senate seat, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.”
Embarrasing for libs.
Reid, however, stopped short of explaining his side of the conversation.
The Sun-Times reported Friday that during their discussion Reid pressured Blagojevich not to appoint Jesse Jackson Jr., Danny Davis or Emil Jones because he feared they’d lose to a GOP opponent in the next election.
Jackson and Davis are both Democratic congressmen from Illinois, and Jones is the Illinois Senate president and Obama’s political godfather.
Instead, Reid pressed Blagojevich to appoint either state Veterans Affairs chief Tammy Duckworth or Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan, sources told the newspaper.
William Walls of the Committee for a Better Chicago called Reid’s opposition to the appointment of Jackson, Davis or Jones, all of whom are black, an act of racism.

How does the “Your comment is awaiting moderation” thing work?
I have one posted just above at, ‘January 3, 2009 at 8:51 pm’, that says that. yet I can see it posted there now. There is nothing objectionable word wise with it, not even a link. I have another on another thread that is awaiting moderation too and has nothing I can see overly objectionable.
I logged out and went away from the Eagle’s site and then came back still logged out and it was there, as well as now that I am logged back in.
What does that comment mean and what does it do, I can’t see anything that it does.
Only the poster can see the comment awaiting moderation. I can see mine, not yours. You can see yours, not mine. And there seems to be no sense to it at all. I can’t show you that mine aren’t objectionable, but they aren’t.
It’s not the double letters. Tried the same word with the alpha character. That’s a no go.
HI Box! I think their moderator program is going buggy tonight.

Jeesh!
lindainks55,
Thanks, I thought that might be what it was but when I logged out and came back without logging in it remained visible.
I will try something else as well.
I am working to break the code. But so far there doesn’t appear to be any rhyme or reason to it.
I’m about to give it up, but then, Linda is still here.
Do we need to post slowly?
Sometimes it’s best to go slowly. There is more to enjoy in life moving slowly and enjoying each movement than rushing through things.

The Eagle has run off a lot of their print subscription folks…
It’s not just the Eagle. So proud and self satisfied that they got the ONE elected and helped turn everyone else into a negative, the newspapers have forgotten that the election was not a landslide. It was not a “calling” for change.
It was a mere 47/53 split. And many of the 47% finally got disgusted with their lack of reporting of news and venture into editorializing the news – that we quit.
Newspapers are doomed. Tree huggers should be happy.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people have such definite information on what how life will be under the Obama administration. So may WEbloggers have such ability to see the future. It’s especially amazing when you realize that most of the predictions run totally counter to ANYTHING that Obama has actually proposed or said he supports. His positions are centrist, well-researched and pragmatic– kind of like his cabinet appointments. Yet the picture of impending socialism is so clear to these folks. I wonder, are you by any chance simply believing your own ghost stories?

Here’s my source for the “ghost stories”.
“In his weekly radio and video address describing what he called the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan, Obama spelled out five main goals. He said his plan proposes to:
double renewable energy production and make public buildings more energy efficient;
rebuild crumbling roads, bridges and schools;
computerize the health care system”
it appears some of us are more informed of what our future president is saying than others
Britain must rethink plans for a database holding details of every email, mobile phone and internet visit, Europe’s human rights commissioner has said in an outspoken attack on the growth of surveillance societies. Thomas Hammarberg said that UK proposals for sweeping powers to collect and store data will increase the risk of the “violation of an individual’s privacy”.
