The City Council should repair the Boathouse, reconnect the water and sewers, re-install restrooms, and landscaping back to where it was. And then transfer ownership of this beautiful old 1920’s icon of Wichita and southern Kansas to Bill Koch. This building represents all kinds of 1920’s industries that made Kansas great in those days, the oil business, the ranch business, the agricultural business, the grain business, the air industry. The amazing connections were there if you study the history of this beautifully constructed old E.W. Marland (later governor of Oklahoma) and Continental Oil/Conoco office building.
In the 1990’s, of course, the gingerbread wide verandas were added to somewhat replicate the appearance of the old boathouse near Murdoch and Waco along the little Arkansas River.
From these verandas are some of the best views of Wichita including to Lawrence-Dumont Stadium across the Arkansas River.
So, Mayor and City Council, lets get going to save the Boathouse.
New Study Doesn’t Support Climate Models (But You’ll Never Hear About It)
January 11th, 2009 by Roy W. Spencer, Ph. D.
A new study just published in the January 2009 issue of Journal of Climate uses a model to study the effect of warming oceans on the extensive low-level stratocumulus cloud layers that cover substantial parts of the global oceans. This study, entitled “Response of a Subtropical Stratocumulus-Capped Mixed Layer to Climate and Aerosol Changes”, by Peter Caldwell and Christopher Bretherton, is important because it represents a test of climate models, all of which now cause low level clouds to decrease with warming.
And since less low cloud cover means more sunlight reaching the surface, the small amount of direct warming from extra CO2 in climate models gets amplified – greatly amplified in some models. And the greater the strength of this ‘positive cloud feedback’, the worse manmade global warming and associated climate change will be.
But everyone agrees that clouds are complicated beasts…and it is not at all clear to me that positive cloud feedback really exists in nature. (See here and here for such evidence).
The new Journal of Climate study addressed the marine stratocumulus clouds which form just beneath the temperature inversion (warm air layer) capping the relatively cool boundary layer to the west of the continents. The marine boundary layer is where turbulent mixing of water vapor evaporated from the ocean surface gets trapped and some of that vapor condenses into cloud just below the inversion.

Let’s hurry up and close that “nasty” Guantanamo prison so we don’t appear to be inhumane to the world:
WASHINGTON (CNN) — Dozens of suspected terrorists released by the United States from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, are believed to have returned to terrorism activities, according to the Pentagon.
Since 2002, 61 former detainees have committed or are suspected to have committed attacks after being released from the detention camp, Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell said at a briefing Tuesday.
The number is up since the Pentagon’s last report in March 2008 when officials said 37 former detainees had been suspected of returning to the battlefield since 2002.
Since 2007, more than 100 detainees were released, significantly more than in previous years, according to Pentagon officials.
Yes, the Bush administration sure screwed the whole detention program up. Kidnapping, torture – now admitted – coerced then recanted confessions, tainted evidence making prosecution impossible, on and on …
A terrible legal and moral mess to dump on a new administration set on working to recover a wrecked economy…
There is no clean way out of it…
Good Morning, JWink!! Yes, let’s save the Boathouse… A replica memory of what used to be… I can still remember renting canoes at the original boathouse, at the Murdock bridge, just west of Waco Ave. in the Summertime… It was great fun…
Some things, like the Boathouse, and Cowtown, just need to be saved from those with $$$ in their eyes, and their bank accounts hell bent for profits… say, like Gander Mountain??
I wonder what they’ll call him?

SPIDER-MAN creator Stan Lee is to unveil the world’s first gay superhero.
High school basketball star Thom Creed hides his developing superpowers along with his sexuality.
Former Marvel Comics boss Stan, 86 — who also created the Hulk and the X-Men — will unleash the character in an hour-long TV drama being shot in the US.
If it’s a hit there it will cross to the UK.
TV execs hope it will rival the huge success of shows likes Heroes.
Lee developed the idea of a gay character from the award-winning novel Hero by Perry Moore.
A TV insider said: “It was only a matter of time before we had our first gay superhero. And if there is one man who can make him a success it is Stan Lee.
“There’s a real buzz among comic book fans.”

Another grubby hand reaching into my pocket to steal money they don’t have to pay for their social program. To wit: Buy old unprofitable buildings no one privately want.
Never mind state and city governments are seeing lower revenue. Never mind the burden on taxpayers is going to grow. Never mind the recession and markets have already decreased the investments of those who DO save by 45%.
Just spend the money to save a few more Cowtowns and Boathouses.
You live in a fairy land of make believe. Make believe there is a money tree out back.

Let us share the burden of the Boathouse on all business and homeowners.

With the right kind of management/marketing/staffing, the Boathouse and Cow Town should be able to support themselves… the management/marketing/staffing is the major problem with both currently…

“‘World ‘needs radical cuts’ on CO2‘”—comatose
Notice there are two Oxygen atoms for every Carbon atom in the molecule CO2.
Comatose put your head in a bag and quit consuming Oxygen and you will quite metabolizing Carbon, then you will cease producing CO2, doing your part to cut production.
I know, that sounds “radical”, but that’s what you are calling for above, isn’t it.
So get with it, show us your sincerity and lack of hypocracy. That way you will truly be comatose, ‘comatose’.

AmWay:
I agree, the financial status of this city and state are in a mess. Where would the money for the Boathouse restoration come from? Do you suppose that Mr. Bill is willing to put legs on his proposal and reach into his pocket for the funds necessary to move and support another failed venture, Kansas Sports Hall of Fame, into the building?
Perhaps the best thing that the city could do right now is cut their losses, after having sat on the issue for three years, make a public offering of the building. Let a business minded person purchase the building with the contingency that the historical artifacts remain intact. I think that it could be an excellent location for a locally owned restaurant.
And as I peruse the bulk of the thread, I’m shocked to fine, good grief, another AGW snipefest.
Yawn. More of the same endless, pointless, meaningless crap.
Criminee. Will you folks – on both sides – simply agree to disagree, shake hands, and move on? And take to heart words Rage posted on another thread: “And it’s quite possible to be reasonable and respectful, and still rationally and vehemently disagree”
Of course I understand the meaning of exemption… I dont think fleetie did, or he wouldnt have tried to equate the committee’s actions with those of scalpers…. :-)
Seems fleetie has some difficulty distinguishing between the Senate and the innaugural committee as well :-)
back later… have a good day all!!

Oh Snap!
I dont [sic] think fleetie did, or he wouldnt [sic]have tried to equate the committee’s actions with those of scalpers…. :-)

Very typical liberal socialist line. Often used in small towns and cities together with the word, “progressive”. If you disagree, you can be labeled as being against “progress” or not being forward thinking.
Truth: If the projects were profitable and worthwhile, a private business interest would be pursuing them with private capital.
I don’t see Chas offering to fund these projects with HIS own money.

Life As We Know It Nearly Created in Lab
Wednesday, January 14, 2009
By Robert Roy Britt
One of life’s greatest mysteries is how it began. Scientists have pinned it down to roughly this:
Some chemical reactions occurred about 4 billion years ago — perhaps in a primordial tidal soup or maybe with help of volcanoes or possibly at the bottom of the sea or between the mica sheets — to create biology.
Now scientists have created something in the lab that is tantalizingly close to what might have happened.
It’s not life, they stress, but it certainly gives the science community a whole new data set to chew on.
The researchers, at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, Calif., created molecules that self-replicate and even evolve and compete to win or lose. If that sounds exactly like life, read on to learn the controversial and thin distinction.
Know your RNA
To understand the remarkable breakthrough, detailed Jan. 8 in the early online edition of the journal Science, you have to know a little about molecules called RNA and DNA.
DNA is the software of life, the molecules that pack all the genetic information of a cell. DNA and the genes within it are where mutations occur, enabling changes that create new species.
RNA is the close cousin to DNA. More accurately, RNA is thought to be a primitive ancestor of DNA.
RNA can’t run a life form on its own, but 4 billion years ago it might have been on the verge of creating life, just needing some chemical fix to make the leap.
In today’s world, RNA is dependent on DNA for performing its roles, which include coding for proteins.
If RNA is in fact the ancestor to DNA, then scientists have figured they could get RNA to replicate

Huckabee had Annthrax Coulter on his Fox News Show recently and played back for the audience — who audiably gasped — all the despicable lies she said about him during the campaign.
Example: “He’s a stupid Christian, he’s easily led,” she said of Huckabee in December 2007. In another clip, she complained, “I don’t think he’s very bright. That’s why they like him. “The United States of America is perhaps the most ambitious, open, vital experiment in government that has ever been fashioned. Our responsibilities are equal to the promise of our dream.
I have great faith in our system of government. I love this country and its people. I hope that our future will fulfill the promise of our founders’ dreams.
Yes, I have my doubts. And I have my fears. All of us do. Yet my faith and hope are strong. We who already have so much will somehow muster the capacity to rise to historic occasions such as this one.
Soon we shall measure ourselves again. If we rise to the occasion, whatever it brings, November fourth will mark not the end of this election, it will mark its beginning.”

==============================================
I think his words still ring true, in these few days before the new administration takes office.
“It’s you people who stupidly think that “praise be” refutes decades of research by the top scientists worldwide.”
The “praise be” refutes nothing. It’s not supposed to. People who are not scientists and believe in the AGW are taking it on Faith. Nothing wrong with that. We all take a lot of things on Faith.
I didn’t suggest you commit suicide.
Your boring-ness makes ME want to commit suicide.
“WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court said Wednesday that evidence obtained after illegal searches or arrests based on simple police mistakes may be used to prosecute criminal defendants.”
The Right Thinkers on the Court blew it this time.
BDP,
People who are not scientists and believe in the AGW are taking it on Faith.
—————–
False. Science does not = “religion”.
They are believing in the many decades of research done by scientists worldwide, and scientific methodology — instead of believing deceptions from the AGW deniers.
In short, it’s science versus obvious falsehoods.
“They are believing in the many decades of research done by scientists worldwide, and scientific methodology…”
That’s what I said. I said nothing of religion.
I said Faith.
Praise be.
BDP,
Opinions based on facts and observed data do not = “faith”.
“Opinions based on facts and observed data do not = “faith”.”
The science of AGW is complex.
One must be a scientist to truly understand it.
The others take it on Faith.
Nothing wrong with that.
Praise be.
This should be interesting:
Washington, D.C., January 14, 2009 – The United States District Court for the District of Columbia today granted the National Security Archive’s emergency motion for an extended preservation order to protect missing White House e-mails. With the transition from the Bush Administration to the Obama Administration taking place in six days, and all the records of the Bush White House scheduled for a physical transfer to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) on that same day, the Court has directed the Executive Office of the President (EOP) to search all its computer work stations and has ordered EOP employees to surrender any media in their possession that may contain e-mails from March 2003 to October 2005.
“There is nothing like a deadline to clarify the issues,” said Archive Director Tom Blanton. “In six days the Bush Executive Office of the President will be gone and without this order, their records may disappear with them. The White House will complain about the last minute challenge, but this is a records crisis of the White House’s own making.”
Since cosmos is not a scientist, he must be one of those relying on faith in AGW prophecy.
Question there Crapn:
How does someone protect something that is “missing?”
Well I was wrong. Obama really does represent “change”.
By the time Barack and Michelle Obama dance the last waltz at the inaugural balls in the wee hours next Wednesday morning, the total tab for the inauguration will be close to a record $160 million.
http://www.newser.com/story/47836/inaugural-to-cost-record-160m.html
The total cost of Mr. Bush’s second inauguration was roughly $40 million, including concerts, dinners and balls that were paid for by private donations.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2008/nov/20/15-million-for-inauguration-less-than-cost-for-bus/
…Regarding the Bush budget “It seems like there are more importent things we should be spending our tax dollars … said candidate Obama during the campaign”,
I guess Obama didn’t say all the change would be good.
Samantha Anne Heiges, 23, of Burnsville, MN was sentenced to nearly 25 years for drowning her newborn daughter Sidney in a bathtub in 2005. Heiges was convicted of second-degree murder in September, though the baby’s tiny body was never found. Heiges told investigators her boyfriend, Erik Ryan Matlock, had threatened to kill her and the baby if she did not get rid of the baby. Matlock is charged with aiding an offender.
“Since cosmos is not a scientist, he must be one of those relying on faith in AGW prophecy.”
Nothing wrong with that. I have Faith that the stars and planets are as big and as hot as what the scientists say they are. But it’s Faith, no question. The difference is the astronomer doesn’t have an agenda.

Thank you parkay. I’m setting my watch to you.
The difference is the astronomer doesn’t have an agenda.
Backed by a multi-billion dollar industry.
BDP,
Question: The existence of what group depends very strongly on “faith”?
Answer: Sources of AGW denial, with their misinformation and lies.
Those sources would not exist, if they did not have the “faith” that gullible and lazy people would believe them.
You should pray for those sources, BDP. And good luck keeping your “faith”.

“By the time Barack and Michelle Obama dance the last waltz at the inaugural balls in the wee hours next Wednesday morning, the total tab for the inauguration will be close to a record $160 million, reports the New York Daily News. The president-elect is raising $45 million in private funds to help pay for the extravaganza, but most costs will be borne by taxpayers.
The federal government has budgeted more than three times what it spent on President Bush’s first inauguration in 2001. Extra costs include opening the entire length of the National Mall and providing Jumbo Tron coverage of the swearing-in ceremony. The inauguration is an economic bonanza for local businesses.”

$15 million for inauguration less than cost for Bush events
Michael Drost (Contact)
Thursday, November 20, 2008
Buzz up! D.C. officials said Wednesday the only guaranteed money they have for the expected, record-breaking Inauguration Day crowd is the annual federal appropriation of $15 million – about $2.3 million less than they spent on security for the relatively small 2005 re-election events for President Bush.
“We really just don’t know how much we’re going to have to spend,” said Mafara Hobson, spokeswoman for Mayor Adrian M. Fenty. “All we have right now is the $15 million the federal government allows us.”

Please note the November 20, 2008 date on this article.
“Question: The existence of what group depends very strongly on “faith”?”
It’s you people who want to drastically change things. Not us. It’s you people who believe (Faith) so strongly. I am beginning to think you are a kid with a fast computer.
Another day, another circus of deniers swinging from the rafters and spitting chiclets.
It’s like cosmos and his amazing dancing ostriches.

How about tomorrow, we all take a moratorium from the AGW/ANTI-AGW stuff?? Surely there are other issues to be discussed…
I really need democrats help understanding this one.
President-elect Barack Obama’s choice to run the Treasury Department and lead the nation’s economic rescue disclosed publicly Tuesday that he failed to pay $34,000 in taxes from 2001 to 2004.Did he pay them off then? No. Not in 2005, 2006, or even 2007. Timothy Geithner paid most of the past-due taxes days before Obama announced his choice
Now remember what this guys job was. Any employee – ANY employee of the treasury department is fired if they file “incorrect” personal income tax forms. Has something to do with working for the freaking IRS agency. So the boss has different employment rules than the lower class employees?
But here is my real question. Timothy Geithner must be an expert and the most experienced person for Obama to pick him for Treasury Secretary.
So was his filing of fraudulent income taxes for four years in a row, which were not paid off until one week before OBama made his announcement:
a. Make him not competent enough to do his own income taxes, but competent enough to make sure we all do?
b. Is he a f*cking crook?
which is it democrats? Help me understand.

I’m all for that. It would be nice to not hear cosMo for a day but I’m afraid she wouldn’t be able to afford not getting paid for it.
I’ve recently gone back to work (with b–chin’ benefits, sugar ‘n spice and everything nice (like paychecks) after an extended period of unemployment, and I’ve got some advice for everyone:
If you’ve ever received unemployment benefits, and you’ve read that nice little booklet the state of frigging Kansas sends you when you apply, and you’ve read that s–t about “how you can quit a job and still qualify for unemployment benefits” – I’ve got something to say today:
It’s a lie. It’s a deceit from the unwashed pits of Ann Coulter and/or Hell. If you quit a job, ya cain’t get benefits. Even for the most compelling reason(s).
I left my extended temp. job because my boss couldn’t speak English. That’s right – the m-ther—-er was barely fluent. He couldn’t speak English – Big Bertha no habla Espanol.
And barely the Twain did meet.
I’d ask the mariachi mealy-mouth (respectfully) for clarification. He’d stomp his feet, turn his back, glare at me balefully, and refuse to give said clarification. Moreover, two potentially catastrophic (as in loss of life and limbs) events took place last summer – and the Mexican jumping bean couldn’t provide communication. Luckily, the worst didn’t come to fruition.
But if it had, I wouldn’t be here today – wowing my boss with my 100% test scores and my sunny personality.
Let me tell ya – when you’re a subordinate – and yer boss doesn’t speak English past a sub-mongol level, it’s a clusterf–k fandango. It’s hair-pulling time. It’s a singular stress. And it had to cease.
I appealed to the State of Kansas Board of Labor three times. All three times, I was denied. Evidently, I f–ked up by attempting to ameliorate the problems AT THE SOURCE – not at the employment agency who got me the dumb job in the first place.
My boss and his superior were very pleased with my work – so I wasn’t fired. Nor was I laid off. But I quit the den of Spanish Harlem I found myself in – and I was punished for it. I couldn’t get a dime in benefits.
So, let that be a lesson to everyone: If yer not laid off, ya can’t get remuneration from the State of Satan, er, Kansas.
I’m so thrilled to be back at work. Until now, I was only able to get part-time temporary jobs – and even the agencies are enduring a “down time” right about. This despite the amazon (that would be me) having excellent references and 100% test scores across the board.
Besides, this chick needs to stay busy. The vicissitudes and disappointments of life are dimmed by my being productive – by being part of a team – and by pleasing my boss (or bosses).
I can’t be idle for too long – else I start to snarl.
I mean, I can only watch “The View” so many times before I start to feed on myself.
Anyway, I just thought I’d share this sorry tale with everyone else. Don’t quit a job and expect to get benefits, even for the most compelling reasons. If I could afford a b–chin’ lawyer, I could sue – and I’d probably win. But who in the hellola can afford a legal beagle with no money?
If I didn’t have my convivial nature and my sweet singing voice, I’d probably self-immolate…….

“Look for the total costs. Then, compare them to Bushs’.”
Are these costs paid by donations and/or the DNC or what?

Not only that American Way, but the IRS is under the Dept of Treasury. So, it seems that Steve Martin’s old excuse, “I forgot … that armed robbery, or failure to file tax returns… is illegal” is now golden.
Obama now faces the same lack of checks and balances that Bush had in his first and part of his second term.
You gotta love ‘em. Stay classy Libs.

Fill the blogs. We NEED it. Noone dare talk negative about Obama. We need to concentrate on anything BUT the Obama administration. That would conflict with the tape recording.
Here, I’ll start.
“FRIGID TEMPERATURES WILL BE THE MAIN STORY THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT AS THE COLDEST TEMPERATURES IN OVER A DECADE SLIDE INTO OHIO AND NORTHWEST PA.”
A decade! Coldest in over 10 years! That’s climate change buddy. Not short term. Yepper. We got a cold snap coming on. Glacierl.
Yawn….

No, you are. I win.
It’s called B.A.I.T. Cosmos.
Wake up and smell the coffee. It’s what 99.9% of those posting AGW are doing to you.
(I don’t have a weblink to confirm my 99.9. It might be only 98%. Plus or Minus 1% margin of error.)
“President Barack Obama’s inauguration next week is set to be the most expensive ever, predicted to reach over $150m (£102m). This dwarfs the $42.3m spent on George Bush’s inauguration in 2005 and the $33m spent on Bill Clinton’s in 1993.”
“Four years ago, the Associated Press and others in the press suggested it was in poor taste for Republicans to spend $40 million on President Bush’s inauguration.”
Obama, the narcissistic self-absorbed maniac. Wonder what that kind of money could have done to help the folks that he says he wants to help. Action speaks louder than words I say.
Boxlicker, you forgot the obvious fact that up to four million people are expected to attend. Compare that with just a few thousand attending Bush’s event. Hmmm, larger audience = larger expense. But since when did conservatives understand economics?
It’s an enormous waste of taxpayer money. I hope they freeze their a$$ off.
while all the pro-choice groups in Kansas are dying from apathy of its members, the antis are strong and moving towards removing more rights. Parkay and Bryan are going to win with the help of Siegfried and Roy..er I mean Kinzer…are working on a bill right now that would require a woman from Michigan whose child is horribly disfigured and her doctor makes a referral to Doctor Tiller, that mother in her heartbreaking situation would have to refer to two MORE doctors *because they’ll now BOTH have to be from Kansas*…and not only that but forced to hear how she’s killing her baby for a time period of like a half hour before having the abortion.
This is absolutely unconstitutional to continue to erode rights so that abortions are SO hard to obtain that they’re nearly illegal.
Apparently standing outside the clinic screaming in women’s faces that they’re killing their babies isn’t enough for the antis…so now the women who NEED abortions will be inundated with information that the ANTIS feel the women need to hear before they go through with it….its like having Bryan and Parkay in your face for hours! Whee!
Boxlicker, how much of that is going to be paid by the taxpayer? Hmmmm? Try educating yourself for a change before making yourself look like a bigger moron.

President-elect Barack Obama’s made his pick for NASA head — a decorated military man, according to several reports.
Maj.-Gen. (ret.) Jonathan Scott Gration, who uses his middle name, is a career Air Force man who’s logged nearly 1,000 hours of combat flight time and been awarded the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and the Distinguished Service Medal, among many other awards.
The son of missionaries, he was raised in Africa and speaks Swahili.
.
Gration is especially close to Obama, having met the young senator in 2005. He and Obama traveled to Africa together in 2006, and Gration has since been one of Obama’s unofficial national-security advisors.
However, unlike current NASA Administrator Michael Griffin, a rocket scientists, Gration has little space experience other than working as a White House fellow in 1982 for then-NASA Deputy Administrator Hans Mark.

Obama Climate Czarina Was Member of Socialist Group’s Environmental Commission
Wednesday, January 14, 2009
WASHINGTON — Carol Browner, President-elect Barack Obama’s choice to be his climate czarina, served until last summer as a member of a socialist organization whose mission is to enact progressive government policies, including toward environmental concerns like climate change.
JJ: That’s o.k. about picking someone who knows nothing about space to run NASA.
He picked a criminal tax evader to run the Treasury and IRS!!!!!
Carol Browner supports ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT.
You cannot make this stuff up!!!
Wake up before it is too late!!
It may BE too late.
More on Obama’s Climate Czarina:
Browner’s name and biography have been scrubbed from the Web site of Socialist International, the umbrella group for 170 “social democratic, socialist and labor parties” in 55 countries. But a photo of Browner speaking in Greece to the group’s Congress on June 30 remained in the site’s archives.
Browner, formerly the longest serving administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, having served under President Bill Clinton, worked on Socialist International’s Commission for a Sustainable World Society, which argues that the global community must work collectively to address environmental policies.
But a spokesman for House Minority Leader John Boehner asked whether Browner agrees with the group’s concept of “global governance” and whether “the United States should abdicate its international leadership to international organizations?

‘Inhofe: Browner Is A Secret Socialist Who Belongs To A Scary Group Called The Center for American Progress‘
http://thinkprogress.org/2009/01/14/browner-inhofe/
Okay . . . so how much do taxpayers pay for all this political partying, glad-handing, back-slapping, and access-creation?
“We pay direct and indirect costs for House and Senate members and staff to come up with a joint House and Senate committee to plan and budget inaugural ceremonies, to prepare the Capitol Rotunda for use in the case of bad weather, and to provide money to archive inaugural documents, files, and records. We also pay direct and indirect costs for security (Secret Service, Capitol Police, U.S. Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard).
If that isn’t enough, Congress also generously devotes $1 million of our money for the swearing-in ceremony (why it would cost $27,771.78 per word to administer the 36 word (including the President-elect’s first and last names) oath of office is beyond me).”
“Additionally, the Office of Personnel Management has determined that Inauguration day should be a paid-holiday for thousands upon thousands of taxpayer-paid federal employees who work ‘“in the District of Columbia, Montgomery or Prince George’s Counties in Maryland, Arlington or Fairfax Counties in Virginia, or the cities of Alexandria or Fairfax in Virginia, and who [are] regularly scheduled to perform non-overtime work on Inauguration Day”.
Though we may never know exactly how many millions of taxpayer dollars go to support all those Federal employees who cool their heels on the ‘Inauguration Day Federal Holiday’, it’s a bunch.
And here’s one for the bore comatose:
The total bill for Mr Obama’s inauguration, including cost of the security, which will be paid by the taxpayers, will probably exceed the $100million. At a global average of 584g of CO2/GDP dollar, the running total of inauguration carbon footprint will have exceeded 58,400 metric tons of CO2 by January 21, 2009.”

Of course I never said that, I said you are a bore, and that no one cares about your climate science, or about you. That’s what I said, and that’s what I meant.

bigotbawks, WHAT happens AFTER a science paper is published?

It’s classic and funny.
“bigotbawks, WHAT happens AFTER a science paper is published?”—the bore, comatose
It’s read idiot. And commented on and reviewed. Give it time comatose. Just like the sky isn’t falling, the earth isn’t burning up. Quite the contrary.
Hey Monkey,
You made the papers:
Feces-throwing monkey on the loose in Tampa Bay
“CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) – Wildlife officials said a rhesus monkey known to throw feces when mad is on the loose in Tampa Bay.
The monkey is not considered dangerous”….Just a stinking nuisance.
Global cooling just keeps rolling along here, East, West and North.

DON’T TRUST AN ARAB. Why won’t Israel learn they can’t be so nice to terrorists. “Hamas is the terrorist.” I read this the other day and agree. Today’s opinion line points out that the Palestinian terrorist don’t have money for food or medicine but always have bullets. Israel is our friend and the Arab, Hamas, Palestinan terrorists are not. DON”T TRUST AN ARAB.
Obama before election:
“As recently as October 7, in a presidential debate, Mr Obama said: “We will kill bin Laden. We will crush al-Qaeda. That has to be our biggest national security priority.”"
Obama after:
“Yesterday, the President-elect adopted far less aggressive language, saying his “No 1 priority” was to protect America from further attack.”

It’s Cold Outside, But Global Warming Industry Still Hard At Work
by Christopher C. Horner
12/23/2008
The most expensive secret you’re not supposed to know is that George W. Bush leaves office with the planet cooler than when he entered. This dangerous trend threatens the multi-billion dollar “global warming” industry, adding new urgency to the ritual shriek of “we must act now!” in the scramble to impose a costly regime of mandates and energy taxes.
The global warming industry’s tactics already range from comical to reprehensible. As a result of a cooling atmosphere — which thanks to the “global cooling” panic we began measuring in 1979 — you are distracted with irrelevant surface temperatures. This is possibly because more than 90% of our surface thermometer network is in violation of rules for locating the instruments. For example, why are so many now on asphalt parking lots, black tar roofs, airport tarmacs, and even hanging directly above barbeque grills?
Such childishness is only the tip of the iceberg of outrages employed to advance an ideological agenda. Our schools torment those whom they are charged with protecting from abuse, with night terrors among the less egregious outcomes. Their brainwashing includes hate mail campaigns to skeptics, reporting on their parents’ willingness to adopt an agenda, and even emotional breakdown requiring institutionalization.
High government officials around the world abuse their powers to expand government’s powers. The media moved from pushing catastrophism in order to sell copy, to expressly abandoning journalistic principles and declaring that, regarding global warming, “balance is bias.”
Last year, after Kevin Rudd was elected Australia’s Prime Minister, he addressed a gathering of that nation’s “best and brightest” pondering how to achieve their policy dreams. One idea floated was to strip Aussies of their citizenship if they expressed doubts about man-made climate catastrophe. So as to not be extremist, however, this allowed for the prospect of restoring one’s standing upon — you guessed it — reeducation.
The mostly taxpayer-funded science community is repeatedly caught fudging their numbers to exaggerate and even manufacture warming. Peer-review journals place hurdles in the “skeptic” path to publication while publishing demonstrable falsehoods without bothering to check the claims’ viability.
Gang Green smears any who dare speak out as unqualified or shills corrupted by “Big Oil” money. Media and lawmakers repeat the claims, yet show no curiosity about the staggering $300 million given to Al Gore. Who is it so covetous of frightening you into accepting costly policies in the name of a “climate crisis” as to underwrite this aggressive lobbying and re-branding blitz? Gore won’t tell us, but you can bet they stand to profit at your expense.
It is now mainstream in the campaign to suppress speech to call for criminalization of skepticism (that is, of science) and imprisonment of its practitioners. British Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett publicly demands that media outlets refuse to grant “skeptics” space, on the grounds that they are just like Islamic terrorists.
Who, then, is surprised that scientists receive professional and even death threats for their heresy, and one in Norway had the wheels fall off of his car — twice — after speaking out, once when his young daughter was a passenger? His mechanic said the lugs had been loosened. Apparently dissent is not patriotic to the global warming industry.
