The “reverend” Pat could have asked for the secret of achieving world peace or the secret to selling your power beverage which makes you bench press two-thousand pounds, guaranteed. But no, Robertson was more interested in the Dow.

He might as well have asked God which is the best college football team.

God would say something like –

Utah. Yeah, there are a lot of Mormons on the team but the whole no drinking or caffeine thing works for college-age kids. Even though it’s weird. And there’s a lot of fornicating going on with those Florida Gator guys.”

Or something.

Then again, Robertson could’ve asked God for the winning PowerBall numbers and so, eliminate all those fund-raiser “Prayer-a-Thons” on his broadcasts. One question and God would answer something like:

“12-15-24-46-51, with the PowerBall 19 on the March 18th draw… it’ll fund you for five years,” and we’d know our world was in the presence of a true prophet.

Otherwise, not so much.

It’s been told though, and never you fret. After the inaugural terrorist attack, the hard core righty’s will have Obama portraits on their walls. I mean we already owe China waay too much money for stocking up on their cheap American flags. So we already got the flags for waving covered.

And we’ll all be waving flags, joyful and happy in our totalitarian state. And well then maybe, just maybe, glastnos will still be there as well.

In 1988, Robertson claimed that God told him to run for president. He did not win the Republican primary.
In his 1991 book The New World Order, Robertson forecast that U.S. Senator Jay Rockefeller would be elected president in 1996.
In 1998, Robertson threatened that, as punishment for flying rainbow flags during Disney World’s annual Gay Days event, the city of Orlando would be struck by “earthquakes, tornadoes and possibly a meteor”.
In 2004, Robertson predicted that George W. Bush would win reelection in “a blowout”. Although Bush was reelected, it was by 50.7% to 48.3% – the closest ever margin for a sitting president.
In January 2006, Robertson forecast that the U.S. midterm elections would leave the Republican party in control of Congress. He also predicted that the Iraq war would “come to a successful conclusion” that year and U.S. troops would begin withdrawing.
Robertson also predicted in 2006 that devastating storms and hurricanes would lash the U.S. coast. He must have thought this a particularly safe guess, but in fact no hurricanes made landfall in the U.S. in that year.
