The week in punch lines

“Don’t you love watching congressmen lecture auto executives on how to run their business? I mean, you got people that put us a trillion dollars in debt lecturing people who put us a billion dollars in debt.” – Jay Leno
“A plan to bail out the Big Three automakers stalled in Congress today. Yeah. As a result, Congress plans to buy a better-built Japanese bailout plan.” – Conan O’Brien
“This economy . . . is so bad that” Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich (in photo) “had to mark down the price of a Senate seat 40 percent.” – David Letterman
“I personally am surprised Obama even needed a seat. I thought he just levitated.” – Stephen Colbert

Illinois Governor Rod B. needs to do the right thing and step down immediately to squelch the fire storm he has created. Perhaps he can try for the soon to be vacated Illinois U.S. Senate seat!

If only Blagojevich hadn’t uttered so many “F-bombs” the FBI might have let him slide. You know, use phrases like, “If Mr. XYZ wants the Senate seat, let him show he’s a team player by contributing to the economic growth stimulus of our fine state.”

    Well, American_Way, it’s obvious isn’t it?

Rod Blagojevich is from Illinois, Ted Stevens from Alaska, you’ve got Larry Craig from Idaho, New Jersey’s Gov. McGreevey, both Eliot Spitzer and Charlie Rangel from New York, Mark Foley in Florida, William Jefferson from Louisiana to mention a few of the most recent. The list be could be longer but we’ll use these to make the point!

The ‘logical’ conclusion then is that ALL politicians from Illinois, Alaska, Idaho, New jersey, New York, Florida and Louisiana are scandalous, probably corrupt criminals!

There’s also Tim Mahoney. That’s 3 Republicans and 6 Democrats. Politics as usual.

What’s the scandal for Obama? Was he the one caught on tape cursing and talking about how much money he wants?

Wasn’t there also a section on the tape that the IL governor talked about Obama not wanting to play the game? And wasn’t it Rahm Emmanuel (Obama’s chief of staff) that blew the whistle on the governor?

So, exactly, how will the Republicans tie Obama to this scandal???
