Barack Obama is the President Elect and will be the President on Jan. 20, 2009.
There seems to be errors and unresearched answers about the geneology of Barack Obama. It’s not simple and needs a lot of research.
I notice that one “biography” of Barack Obama says his mother, S. Ann Dunham, was raised in Wichita. From my initial reading, I think she was raised in the State of Washington and in Hawaii. I doubt if she was ever in Wichita.
Barack Obama’s father was from Kenya and met Ann Dunham when both were students at University of Hawaii. I don’t believe they married partially because Barack Obama’s father is said to have already had a Kenyan wife. So I doubt if the pregnant young Ann Dunham would have traveled to Kenya to deliver Barack.
Here in Wichita, prior to 1941, it appears that the Dunham’s older generations lived and were in the pharmaceutical business along east and west Douglas Avenue in Wichita. Some of their Wichita residences still stand.
This is my opinion at this point. It all needs a lot more research by a lot of people because what I have read even by Barack Obama himself seems to contain errors.
Keep in mind these allegations are from the same types who said Bill Clinton executed people by tying them to railroad tracks.

The Supreme Court is considering a petition from a New Jersey lawyer. Don’t be surprised if the petition either passes or fails 5-4. If it does, we’ll then know that several justices on the Supreme Court have no regard for the Constitution, or indeed, anything but faux “conservative” principals. The fact that Mr. Thomas even considered the petition after it was rejected by Mr. Souter is an impeachable offense. It means he places his personal emotions over the Constitution.
Mr. Obama was born in the United States to a U.S. citizen. There is no other requirement for citizenship or to be native born.
Have any of you considered that all of this might be a round about way of making the weight lifter eligible for the Presidency?

Cynical because it is state law in Hawaii that all personal records are sealed. Not just Obama’s birth certificate. You can receive a statement of the record and it is the established prove the state provides.
It is the certification that the document exists but not the detail being exposed. Not that facts or the law will effect the argument or the attempt to cause a meaningless issue. But you may still have hope, so far there is no prove that Obama is actually a human being! Or an Earthling for that matter!
It is possible that the Supreme Court will rule in favor of the petition. Remember, the court was less conservative when they handed the election to Bushco. Although I assume with the pundits that the petition will be dismissed without comment, you can never be sure. Look at Kline’s respect for the law to see how far they’ll go.

Beber it’s certainly possible the Supreme Court could steal the election–again–but a more likely explanation of Thomas’s action has been noted by several legal commentators.
Had Thomas rejected the petition, these nutbars would have simply gone to another Justice. And another. And another. By referring it to the full Court, Thomas is simply getting it over with. Apparently this is a fairly common practice to dispense with repeat petitioners.
As much as I distrust Clarence Thomas, I’m not going to presume ill intent when there’s a more sensible and mundane explaination available.
By the way, no one outside the Internet nutbar community take the birth certificate dispute seriously. It doesn’t even have anything to do with the petition before the Supreme Court.

I’ve been around long enough to see these transitions of the presidency. Sometimes they’re optimistic, sometimes they’re simply expecting the moving on of time.

Again, Hitler was indeed critical of Austria.
But whatever else you say about him, he was a heroic soldier for Germany in World War 1. He took the most dangerous duty (messenger/runner) and was badly injured in a poison gas attack.

Just read the “Hitler comments” quoted by Boxlock above. I doubt if it was actually written by Hitler. It appears to have been pieced together to cleverly offer a comparison to Barack Obama.
In regard to Hitler’s religion, I believe he was raised a Catholic and more or less continued as a Catholic. He apparently did have designs to become a “super” Catholic. As I recall, his sister was a Catholic Nun and survived WWII as such.
His original name was Shicklegruber (sp?) but changed to Hitler a little later. Can’t remember how this came about.
His father was a tyrant who beat Hitler and his mother, which caused Hitler to side with his mother.
I think his “mistress” and eventual wife at the end when both committed suicide, Eva Braun, was generally side-lined away from Hitler, the war leader. Had she escaped from the bunker and been captured by the American Army, she possibly wouldn’t have been sentenced to prison and would have lived a number of years after the war as did Hitler’s sister and secretaries.
As far as comparison to Barack Obama, there are some “manufactured” similarities.
Probably an even better comparison of Hitler would be to Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Without checking, they were probably born about the same time in the 1890’s. They died within a few weeks of each other in April/May 1945. They came to power in their respective countries at about the same time in 1933. They were opponents in world-wide WWII in which all the world’s resources were pitted against each other.
Hitler’s real love was a Jewess (no disrespect intended), but it didn’t work out. He was a painter–as in artist, not house. Rather frustrated, I guess. ;)

Take what you posted above and substitute the name Bush for Obama and you just described the last eight years of the Democrat party. How can you not fail to see the irony here?
Why don’t you give Obama a chance to get into the White House before you condemn him? Many of us gave that chance to Bush until he f*cked up so bad we could no longer support him.

A Question for the Obama Birth Certificate Conspiracy Theorists –
Just what is your endgame?
Let’s suppose (purely for the sake of discussion) that you’re right and there is something technically deficient about Obama’s claim to natural born citizenship. Maybe he was born overseas and his mother smuggled him into Hawaii just after birth.
Or maybe he floated into Pearl Harbor in a bassinet like Moses, from origins unknown.
Maybe he descended from Krypton in an escape pod.
Whatever the case, let’s imagine that something like that happened and that you could somehow prove it. What then?
Obama was elected president by a large margin. He has approval ratings in the 70s. Most of his cabinet has been selected. The transition is well underway. And the country is in a precarious state. Do you really think a federal court is going to declare Obama ineligible to be president and plunge the country into chaos?
Can you imagine the repercussions? Talk about “judicial activism.” We would have a constitutional crisis of epic proportions. We would have riots in the streets.
Let me save you the suspense.
Ain’t gonna happen. Not in a million years.
Even if you managed to get your hands on ironclad evidence that Obama was born somewhere else (which you won’t), the courts will not entertain your claim. They will find some grounds (likely lack of standing) to dismiss your case. Trust me.
And don’t whine about the need to uphold the Constitution though the heavens fall. Where were any of you during the last eight years as the George WMD Bush administration made a mockery of the separation of powers that is the central feature of the Constitution, advancing theories of executive power that surely caused every one of the signatories to that document to roll over in his grave?
And for that matter, where were you during the election when John McCain, a man born in Panama, was running against Obama? There’s a non-frivolous argument to be made that McCain is ineligible to be president by virtue of his place of birth, but that didn’t seem to concern any of you.
More important;, take a step back for a moment and consider the purpose of the natural born citizen requirement. The rationale behind the provision was to prevent someone who had loyalties to another nation from becoming president. That was a real concern in 1789.
Even if Obama’s birth certificate and birth announcement were somehow fraudulent (and there’s no evidence of this), no one contests that he spent nearly all his childhood (except from age 6-10) in the United States of America. There’s no dispute that Obama’s mother was an American citizen and that she raised him from infancy in Hawaii. What possible reason would there be to bar him from serving as president? And what possible good could come from having Obama declared ineligible?
I really truly wonder what you folks imagine is the proper remedy for this supposed constitutional violation. What do you hope to accomplish? It’s just so crazy.

bush was given an INCREDIBLE, almost unprecedented gift.
Hey, you are right to an extent. When he stood on that rubble pile for his staged moment, I remember saying, “Damn, there is NO WAY we will be rid of him now.”
After 911, bush’s approval rating changed from 50% to 70%. TOO, the support of most of the civilized WORLD was there for him to embrace.
I remember a story about some poor little country that sent a few head of cattle or goats or something to the US, they felt so bad for our tragedy.
bush took that gift (the sense of unity, not the goats) and BADLY misused but mostly ignored it.

Ok MH, I’ll bite.
First let me say that I agree with you when you say that the Courts would find some way to deny any attempt to nullify the election of Obama even if presented with iron clad proof that He is Constitutionally unqualified to hold the office. Otherwise we would have the biggest Constitutional crisis in the history of the Republic.
The bigger question would be, where is the outrage from the American people over having such a fraud perpetrated on them? Also, would the military recognize his authority as Commander and Chief? I suppose if He were an honorable man, He would do the right thing and resign. That would elevate the Vice President to President, but then you would have to decide if He is able to hold office since He became V.P. by the same disallowed election as Obama. Then what? Would the Speaker of the House of Representatives then become the President? I say we follow the Constitution and let the chips fall where they may. To paraphrase Richard Nixon, “the American people need to know their President is not a crook”, or a Kenyan.
So when they say he’s an American and a Christian, you’re going to get behind him and support him right?
